I am 67, still work full time and SE is 4 years old. Lots of training for both of us. It is my "crack". Crack would probably be cheaper to deal with. SE is my third Doberman. Unlike some, I didn't get to enjoy the breed until later on in my life. After my 2nd dobie died in my arms before she was 6, I swore I'd never own another dog. But, I flat couldn't handle the stillness in the house and the ticky, ticky toenail sounds on the floor. She has met all of my needy expectations and she keeps me as sane I as can be. I have thoroughly enjoyed training and showing her. We both have issues, but we both work on the issues. I can't imagine her not being in my life. We will see where I am at some years down the road. At some point in time, an older person has to deal with the fact of what happens to the dog if something happens to me. But I am not there yet. Good luck with your puppy and enjoy!
