It is with great dober pleasure, to announce & share our new family addition...KELLY...at 9.5 weeks old.
Last Friday we drove from Ontario, Canada, across 3 States to Illinois to get our new baby girl...with Nancy, Andrew (son) and Larry on board.
Friday was 11 hours on the road, stayed overnight in Chicago, off to breeders and back home, another 14 hours Saturday travelling.
- round trip totalling 1950 Km or 1200 miles
- she was great in the car, and we stopped several times / two of us went into a restaurants and one stayed back, to baby sit
- had lots of time to cuddle & bond some, on the loving trip home...and luckily the weather was perfect
I could not have asked for more good luck, we love our Kelly girl dearly.
- Sandra G.Hunter (aka Sandi) has a super clean facility, and 3 adult dobes, sleep in her bedroom at night / very nice and most knowledgeable breeder.

Kelly is from the pairing of:
sire: BISS GCh/Can Ch Lyndobe's Turn On Da Charm WAC CGC
dam: Ch Bruda Up In Spirit
- producding 4 girls & 5 boys = 4 black/5 red pups

FYI - Interview with Sandra G.Hunter, the famous Doberman Breeder, BRUDA DOBERMANS, Illinois USA.
Interview Date : 27th March 2004 Woodstock Dog Training School | Dog Grooming, Dog Breeds, Dog Diet, Dog Health, Training Dogs, Dog Trainers, Dog Trainer, Dog Training School, Dog Training, Dog Obedience Training, Dog Security Training, Dog Grooming Services

Stay tuned - I have lots more pictures, to share...with my DT friends / and puppy "story time" to tell.
(LOL - son taught me how to shrink & link photos, off my new camera, just last night)

Downtown Chicago, photo taken early Saturday morning...checked out before 6:00 am.

Leaving Chicago, photo from Volvo wagon window...3 more hour drive, to see our puppy.

Illinois flat countryside, lots of tall windmill's across one long stretch of hwy...another 45 minute drive, for exciting puppy time.

Mom gets first look, for her new baby - black or red girl, is still the breeders secret.

We always give our son Andrew, 1st honors to hold the family dober puppy.
- he said he will remember this family trip, for the rest of his adult life

Aaahhhh!! Yay! I was waiting for this thread. I had a good suspicion from your test thread since I knew Sandi had a litter just ready to go home. I saw some pics of the pups, which color collar girl is Kelly? She is a doll...congratulations, and welcome to the club! :)

Many thanks for all the awesome congrats and touching comments, from Kelly's DT friends.
- much appreciated

You are teasing us too much! We need more pictures of your baby girl! :)
^^^^ More Kelly pictures, to come / but "story time" first...:D

Congrats!!! What color collar was she? We spent some time with the litter last time we visited Sandi... loved the black girls!
I was very fortunate time wise of the Spirit litter, after reaching out to dapple from Toronto (Rudy's Mom) and owe aka "Kelly's Aunt Sue", much thanks and a great deal of respect...:thanx:
Luckily the new born dobes were only 4 days old, so I quickly phoned Sandi at Bruda, as I desperately needed a dobe again in our family life, sooner than later.
One girl was already sold and the breeder with co-owner was taking the first two prospect girls, after grading the litter (+8 weeks old)...and a third show girl (??).
So I told Sandi, a girl was our #1 choice, because they take up less room, on the master bed (lol)...and we would be equally happy with a boy too.
Never had a red dobe before (and I love seeing them on DT), so either a black or red / FM or M was completely ok with us.
^^^^ So after a 20 minute phone call with Sandi, and sharing "my Amy's journey - R.I.P." one puppy was secured.
When I got off the phone, I was flip-in excited, and a new dober chapter was restarting.
To say I was stoked, would be a huge under-statement, as my severely broken heart could finally begin to heal...and dear old Amy, would want nothing more, for her loving family.

The 9 week wait for a puppy was very exciting (I now woke up with joy, in my heart) and Sandi only told us just one week before our Illinois trip, that "it's a girl" for our family...
So next I ask the next logical question, red or black ?? Sandi said it will have to be a nice surprise.
So I am very excited, and immediately share the great news with dapple, to find out, she is also keeping the secret...:roflmao:...no surprise...he-he.

Sizzledog - So we didn't really know what color collar, Kelly was...from the earlier baby photos / because, we didn't even know, which one was ours to start with - visiting Sandi and the litter, I would be doing to, if it wasn't for the long drive / nice you got the opportunity, how very exciting !!
- I told Sandi, if we were neighbors, I would be holding and playing with the pups daily.

Aww, so cute! I love her leopard cone, very stylish.
I'm expecting many many more pictures when you get home!
How is this for good puppy Karma (meant to be), past dobe(s) live on ??

The 4th photo in post #1 is the exact moment captured in time, when Sandi finally shared the anticipated words, with our family:
"you get a black girl, with the cheetah print, cup hat"

The real significance of the breeders comment and her puppy pick for our family, struck an immediate and meaningful accord, with my wife.
Nancy knew that "our senior Amy was reborn , partially in the little one"...a perfect pup with Amy blessings, was ours.
You see: Amy’s favorite blanket that covered her leather love seat and one of her two couch pillows, was also all “cheetah print”.
A clear indication, of puppy selection fate !!

Congratulations - looks like a lucky puppy & a lucky family. She looks like a cutie.
I heard it might be snowing in some areas near you tonight - going to be some unpleasant midnight pee breaks coming up.
Kate
The weather is very bad, 45 minutes from here / our son Andrew turned around and cancelled a Toronto trip, near Woodstock...this morning.
Emergency crews on 401, now cleaning up numerous accidents...it’s bad out there.
One mile stretch of hwy, had several vehicles in the ditch / first snowfall, and many drivers don’t learn, to slow down.
St. Thomas only had a light dusting of white flakes (early morning), so Kelly didn’t have enough snow to play in...her Winter experience, will come.
We decided to stay home instead, this weekend....and 2 hours North, my twin brother says ir's as clear as a bell...go figure.

OK - the DT gods have spoken, and I am following through, as promised...enjoy all, more Kelly photos:...

Son gets lovingly mobbed, by the litter mates...one of these is our Kelly...they are all, very nice.

There she is, Kelly in the middle of the puppy bunch...you girl, gets to come home soon.

Happy Mom, she has her baby girl now.

Puppies playing outside and having the odd friendly rough-housing or two or three...lol.

Proud Dad, no more to say...I am speechless.

Kelly taking a nap, during our drive home, through the States.

I love the smile on his face in the second picture from the top... Dober-puppy heaven!!!
^^^^ Thanks, the 2nd photo (post #51):
Was when son Andrew had first layed eyes on our very own puppy (finding out it was a black & tan dobe, with cheetah pattern cone head).
- and Kelly kissed his hand, first
- I had our new Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1X 16 MP Micro 4/3 Compact Camera ready...for this exciting moment, of discovery

We pulled in our driveway 1.5 hours after re-enterering Canada at Port Huron/Sarnia boarder, and Kelly got to sleep in the master bed, between Mom & Dad...whole family a little tired. Following photos, next morning under better natural light:

Kelly taking a wee power nap, after her and Dad had fun play time, on the living room floor.
- the 12 year old LLBean dog bed, is a good cushion under my butt & the oak floor...lol

When pups are tired, any sleeping position will work, no mater how contorted...as long as a human can be touched, in some way.
