Grace - She Is Our Grace

I've been told I'm overdue to be posting an update, so here we are.

Last month Dad replaced the decidedly manky floor in the living room. He took the carpet up the day I came home, and what was under it was, well, not-so-nice. I helped!

First I helped Mom pack the stuff in the credenza:

There was lots to pack:

This one might hold more:

When he had the front of the room done, Dad moved the sofa:

You can tell this upset me:

And I helped Dad measure, too!

They didn't really plan it, but once the floor was down, they decided to paint, instead of matching the yuck beige and covering just the spackled stuff that was there when they moved in. I really like the canvas:

Floor looks great, though, doesn't it?

It was hard work:

Mom and Dad said I helped too much some days:

Mom has more photos, just less story to go with them. Stay tuned.

It should be good to be Dog.

Hai, DT!

Mom broke down and told Dad he could have a rope tug to play with me, but only when we're playing. Only then. I like it a lot. A lot!

This is my favorite thing to do just now:

Really. It feels good.

Just how close is that truck yard Mom said I had to get used to? It's really close. I didn't mind the fireworks, either. View from the back of the yard:

All of me, in motion, but it is all of me:

Auntie Caroline sent me goodies:

One was lamb chop. I really like lamb chop. She has five, count 'em, five squeakers; one in each foot and one in her middle.
I like squeakers. Video; click to play.

I managed to really trash my posts one hot day. This really worked!
My mom, Incredible A'Diva likes to play in the water, and so do I!
Video; click to play.

Does this stick make my mouth look fat?

That's all for now. Love you, DT!

It should be good to be Dog.

She's so beautiful! Love all the pics! I think my favorite is the last one with her holding the stick. You can just see the feistiness popping in that expression!

Keep us updated!!!!

(She has an absolutely gorgeous crop, too! Her ears suit her face so well.)

ETA...I forget, what are your plans for this lovely little girl? Working sports, performance sports, showing, spoiled rotten pet (which I'm sure will be the case no matter what )?

In most of the second set of photos, she's one day short of 4 months. I was trying to get those posts to last until Friday, when we took her for her rabies vaccination, but she popped both of them Thursday, so I hustled her out to the yard and took pix & video.

The last one with the stick is our current wallpaper. I love her direct gaze and those dark, dark eyes.

I love her crop. Same vet did Jewell and I love, love, love her ears. Lorna? Maybe willing to post that great head shot of Jewell and name the vet?

Plans. We plan for her to eat no socks at all. That alone is a challenge. Her first priority is to be our companion. After 30 years of strays/rescues, the main thing I want is a genuine companion dog; one that isn't afraid of its shadow, isn't a hazard to passing dogs or people, one that is sound.

In addition, we plan to have a go at Schutzhund. I'd want to do some sort of obedience training regardless, and what I see is that the dogs enjoy the tracking and protection. It looks like a likely choice for a new hobby, especially for DH, who has some tendency to have an interest in hobbies that don't fit in our budget, really. (He's a pilot.)

It should be good to be Dog.

I think being a phenomenally well-loved companion is an awesome plan. Dobes were bred to be with their people, so really, being a companion is a job in itself.

I look forward to more updates on her. I really love Lorna's dogs.

She really is her mothers daughter. It is almost scary how much she looks like Diva! The crop on this litter was done by our good ol' Dr. Hoskins at Redwood Vet here in Santa rosa.
I'm so very happy to see Gracie is so well loved first and foremost. Anything else is just icing on the cake.

Vulgar language warning, but here's my husband and my son with our grand-daughter's first date:
First Date

And, I dunno, Michael, ya think?

We do plan another dog, but not till Gracie's 2 or thereabouts.

It should be good to be Dog.

Love the Gracie update!!!!

I also think we need to have a sibling reunion at some point, and you reminded me I'm also lacking in the Griffe photo update as well =)

We have such good looking pups!!!! Now we just need Gus and Gage photo updates and the siblings will be complete!

Great pics, the hose reminds me of Mysti, she loved when we had the hose on, it was always hard to wash cars with her around!
She looks great, and such a big help, loved all the pics, thanks for sharing them.

I'm pretty sure all of the G litter pups are in Nor Cal except for us =(

So more like we need to buy a ticket to the reunion or get back in that car for another 10 hr trip!

Unless the kids want to experience Vegas and the desert! =)

Griffe update coming soon!!!
