Thanks

Sorry....I have yet to find a single toy that my monster doesn't destoy. If it is too durable....he won't touch it?! Monday, I bought a Kong Tennis ball that squeaked, and a AKC Mallard Duck Stuffie that quacked. Ten minutes after giving them to Petey....neither made noise anymore. $15 dollars.

The only squeaky toy that has lasted for Rex is the large size Bad Cuz. Also Rex loves all the Orbee balls and Orbee Kongs. The Orbee's are a soft rubber that bounces and he loves them. Never touches the regular Kongs. My local store carries them but I'm sure they are online.

Robin and Rex

Carol,

I think these will hold up for Petey as well, Rex really tears into toys!

Bamboo dog toys

We have had a few of these for years! They are by far the most durable stuffies and tugs I have come across.

http://www.bamboopet.com/dogs/toys/

They must be expanding their site, cause the other links to beds and such don't turn up anything

Care-a-lot Pets also has some good prices. I have about everything that "kong" makes. You can get bones and dental sticks and regular kongs of all sizes, kong balls.....etc. The "cuz" toys are awesome like robin mentioned. (But be careful.........they are ANNOYING!) The tire biter toys...xtreme holle rollers.

boy do they ever. I have to hide them every now and again, we have about 4 big ones and a couple little ones. Imagine "cuz" times 5. It will drive you insane. Oh, and it doesnt help that Rommel will come and bump "cuz" into your leg over and over and over, until you throw him

My Kong just sits around. Rudy doesn't like it. What specific toys are recommended for Dobermans that they like and use.

Thanks,

Mensa likes the Extreme Holey Roller.

The holes are just big enough for me to squeeze a large-sized Milk-Bone (broken in half) into. She won't leave it alone until she gets the biscuit out and eats it.

The Orbee balls and Orbee balls and the cuz line. Rex won't touch his regular Kongs but the Orbee Kong is very popular, it's a softer rubber and bounces, they do hold up.

Rommel wasnt exactly interested in kongs when he was younger. I started using one as his reward for obedience and now he will drive you crazy for a kong. Ziris has always liked them, Aden likes them and Grip likes them. Piper isnt a "chewer" she will chase a kong, but has no intrest in just knawing on one.

For Phoebe's one year birthday, I got her a rubber chicken that honked. She was freaked out for about 5 mins, ran back and forth past it but wouldn't touch it. Finally, it grew on her. A riot to see her running around with a rubber chickin in her mouth acting acting like she stole something. She was tossing it, flinging it, pouncing and pulling on it and... well our laughs and her fun lasted for about 30 mins till she killed the honk and tore off the chicken head. It was a happy birthday... didn't get all that much "cluck" for my buck though!

I bought a lightly stuffed plush snake toy (really cute, too) for Duke in a place called Pet Supplies Plus. It even came with ten extra squeakers as replacements. The mouth of the snake and the tail both fasten shut with heavy duty velcro. Inside the mouth and tail are pouches that hold the squeakers. So when a squeaker breaks, open the mouth or tail, remove the pouch, replace the squeaker, put the pouch back inside and velcro shut. Duke has not been able to open either mouth or tail since the velcro is very strong, and since its not very stuffed, he has not ripped a seam either. Its about 3 feet long and he loves it, loves to whip it around and toss it high in the air. It cost $10 but it has lasted several weeks already and looks fine. Its put out by some doctor. I have the name at home and I'll check and repost. These toys can probably be bought on line.

I also bought a 5" ball, with squeaker, from www.Drsfostersmith.com. It has raised and lowered surfaces and is puncture resistant. It comes in a red football too and some other shapes I think. Duke loves it, chews on it like mad, and cannot chew it into pieces at all, it is 100% intact and its been several weeks already. Here's a link:

Duke has the Grape colored ball.

I checked the site. For most things I think Dog.com has the prices beat. The prices get lower if you buy more items as well. I spend about $50 and stock up on pressed rawhide and natural stuffed bones for a long time!

As far as durable toys... I haven't found any that I can leave with Bizzy and he won't find a way to destroy them. I can give him a Kong or Nylabone for about 1/2 hour, but then I need to tak eit away for a while so he can't destry it.

Here's la ink to the toys I mentioned in an earlier post to this thread.

http://www.handsnpaws.com/category/t...ys_plush_toys/

Duke has the snake for several weeks now and its still intact with squeakers that still work. It does come with replaceable squeakers too. This plush toy is, so far, the only one that he has not been able to destroy.

kong

Scoob,
My first two dobies didn't like the kong until one day I mixed their kibble with a little peanut butter and filled the kong. They played with that kong for hours. Of course, I didn't do it very often, only as a treat and on days that I did give it to them, I extracted the couple of tbls of kibble from their evening meal. Hope it helps.
