Ear Post Question

Long story short...

My vet who cropped my pups (20 wk old male) ears has 20 yrs experience and he told me my pups ears look great and they no longer need to be posted. This is against everything Ive read so far but how can I dispute someone with a solid reputation and years of experience. Should I continue posting or not? Is it normal?

Yes keep posting at least through teething. I'd go to 7 months minimum. Most vets who crop don't know much about posting.

There is absolutely no harm in posting a bit longer than required but after a certain point posting will have no effect so don't stop early because it may not be possible to go back and start posting again if the ears begin to fall.

It would be helpful to see a picture of your pups ears. There are so many factors that go into how long you should post..... type of crop, ear leather, consistency in posting, etc..... The average time to post a medium crop is probably till 7 months of age, show crops can take longer, short crops may stand fast......
