Doberman Ears

Question, I have a 15 week old purebred Doberman and his ears are not cropped but are standing up on their own. Anyone know why?

Good cartilage. Puppy ears can do wonky things, whether the breed is traditionally cropped, uncropped, or has naturally erect ears.

If you don't mind the look, then you can just leave them be. If you want to train them to lay flat, then you can do that.

Hmmm... the pictures in our tutorial thread on taping natural ears seem to have gone missing... A quick Google search turns up several posts on taping natural ears, though. This one is similar to what was posted in our tutorial. This one is a completely different method, but might work for a Doberman. I would probably recommend that you use something like the Zonas tape recommended for ear posting instead of the duct tape they mention in the links.

Oh, and welcome to DT. We love pictures.
