Purina Pro Plan ; Which Formula?

I've been reading the forums regarding best kibbles for Dobies and have found that Purina Pro Plan is highly suggested for price/nutrition/Not On the Grain-Free Craze. Only problem is there's so many different formulas I'm unsure what you guys use in 2019. Could I get some recommendations? Is Grain-Free the same thing as Wheat, Soy, and Corn Free?

https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcos...t-dry-dog-food

I see Salmon and Rice being mentioned also Sensitive Skin and Stomach, but this might be grain free? Can someone clarify for me please.

This is the one I'm talking about.

Partial ingredient list:
Salmon, Barley, Ground Rice, Canola Meal, Oat Meal, Fish Meal...

It is not grain-free...any food made from wheat, rice, oats, cornmeal, barley or another cereal grain is a grain product.

Grain-free formulations have things like sweet potatoes, peas, garbanzo beans (aka chickpeas), potatoes, lentils and tapioca (aka cassava) as their carb source.

^^^ That's the formula I feed. Sensitive Skin and Stomach (branded under the "Focus" line). It's a salmon based formula. Not grain free. My dogs do very well on it.

Looks like the vote is in. Next time I'm at the pet store I'll be buying that. Is there any doberman owners out there that use a different Purina Formula?

Some of my friends feed Proplan Sport - typically the 30/20 mix (https://www.proplan.com/dogs/product...e-3020-formula).

I've been feeding mostly ProPlan (Focus) Sensitive Skin and Stomach (that's the salmon blend) for years. My dogs have never been allergic to any grains (including corn, wheat or soy) and I don't usually feed beef blends or lamb--I've had bad luck with any lamb when I've tried it).

The adult formula Chicken or the Salmon are the two that I usually feed and the salmon is the most common.

Lamb based foods always seem to give my dogs horrible, noxious gas.

I only feed Purina Proplan Sport 30/20 but my dogs are extremely active. I do give my dogs a digestive enzyme Powder as well. I also add a heart supplement with Taurine, and Fish oil. Good luck.

Both Sensitive Skin & Stomach (salmon & rice) and Sport 30/20 are good foods and I've fed both with good results.

My girl Tali did well on the Sensitive Skin & Stomach salmon.

Sport 30/20 was the only kibble Fiona was willing to eat in late stage DCM/CHF. She actually did very well on it, considering. Her primary vet and cardiologist both commented on how fantastic her coat looked and that she was maintaining a decent weight even toward the end.
