We got back from our amazing 12 day cruise last night and our little baby boy arrived bright and early today as his breeder was going to a show out our way.

He is now 9 weeks old and has been cropped. He is sweet as can be and quite serious for a puppy. It is his first day with us so maybe that will change but if not that is ok because Coco was always quite a serious gal.

Without further adieu please welcome Kin's Sweet Revenge call name Sugar!!

It's hard work being this sweet!! He grunts and groans when he is tired. It is so cute. It may not be so cute tonight when he won't sleep lol!!

Doc I am very lucky for the great helper I have. He has definitely been perfecting Mr. B's advice on how to play the steal game. Sugar loves to give the head shakes when he has something he's not supposed to. I do love when they do that though.

We go to the pond everyday for 3 seasons a year. We can't really go in the winter because the snow and ice make it too hard to walk down into the pond. I've been doing this for 12 years and found the pond with Coco. It's only a 5 minute walk from our house but it's so serene and calm. Not many people go down there which is fine with me.

The first time I took Sugar there it was so cute to see this look of amazement on his face like "wow where are we". So much to look at, smell and pee on! Don't forget that we live in the suburbs in a subdivision so this beautiful natural wonderland is truly a blessing to people like me who need to ground themselves in nature and escape the "grind" even for a short time!

When we let Coco go besides being distraught with grief, I said to my husband that I had to get another dog to go to the pond with. He doesn't walk with me. I am the dog walker so I had to get another lovey to enjoy the pond with.

Ah, memories…Capri coming in the room, carrying a tennis shoe by the laces, doing the proud puppy dance and swinging it around. I always praised her for finding something so interesting—early on, I played the trade game and she got the hang of it pretty quickly. So getting something away from her was easy, once she had indulged in a shake or two (things like socks, towels or shoes, you understand—nasty stinky carrion or other disgusting things remained a problem.)

Hi guys. It's Sugar. Long time no talk. Like everyone else the virus seems to be getting worse. I still work at home with mama but she's been going into the office on Mondays. I hate those days because mama leaves me home alone until dad gets home at 2. Mama says we have to spend some time apart but I disagree.

We had really nice weather until this week. Now it's getting colder. But we still go to the pond. We had a second bloom of Coco's wildflowers there so we picked them and brought them home for weeks. We also picked more wild lavender and dried it.

I love to watch the birds now there but they always swim or fly away from me when I go to look at them closer. Mama laughs and gave me the name He Who Moves the Birds. I'm happy to report that there have been no more weirdos at the pond since mama and I moved that man along. Mama told me we have a responsibility to take care of the pond so I take that seriously.

One day mama was sad at the pond and was really missing Coco. I kissed her to make her feel better and we found lots of treasures there that day. We brought them home and made a nice arrangement for Coco on our table. I'm such a good boy and don't touch any of it.

Now the teatowel is not off limits or if I see something I really like on the counter... I'm working on that. But I leave Coco's table alone.

Look at me during zoom meetings 😜

I'm sleepy now and cuddling with mama. Sweet dreams everyone.

Mama here. I'm using the new way to share pics so I hope it works! Being home everyday with this sweet boy has been a blessing but it makes him very dependent on me always being home so I have to go out to work once a week.

Sleep well my sweet boy. 💜

Oh, Sugie-boy, you are so handsome! I love your sweet face, especially when you're laughing up at your Mama! Your brain must be getting bigger, finally, huh? (What say you, Mama?) Must be at least a little bigger than a walnut by now! Remember when it was only as big as a chickpea? LOL! We all love you so much, and thank you for checking in once in a while. I have been missing you, huggybaby!

Hi Auntie Lannie. I think you are right. Sugie-boys brain must be the size of a walnut by now lol. Sometimes it works really well and sometimes it still malfunctions. But maybe Uncle Doc is right and he's just being a boy 🤣😂!

He's still a lovebug and such a cuddler which I love. He still moans and groans when he is settling in for a sleep.

Thank you Nani for reading through the evolution of Sugar's life to date. I'm glad I started this thread because it's nice for me to go back through also. Great memories all in one place although he is not a little baby anymore and will be 2 on New Year's Eve! Time flies with these guys.

LadyDi I love purple but that pedi had definitely seen better days!

Uncle Doc we need an update on your babies. EG must be a big girl now!

Look at his paws! Clubbers!

Congrats!

Evie has some puppy competition!

That pup will be out of control in no time.

Have fun!

I agree! He had such cute big clodhopper feet! Now he's grown into those big feet. Hard to believe what little babes they were when we could carry them around.

Although you see what I contend with during zoom meetings when someone thinks they're still small!

I love this silly sweet boy 💖🤩💖🤩

Of all the Dobes I had, only my first was a baby when I got him. That was back in December of 1984, but I see pictures of Sugar, and it seems like only yesterday. I love watching him grow up and hearing all of his stories because he reminds me so much of my Ninny (Ninja). I was blessed to have Ninny as my soulmate for 15 years, and I hope Sugie-boy is with you at least that long. My other Dobes were all adult rescues, so I never got to see them grow up. They were all wonderful dogs, but there's something special about a baby dobieboy that grows up with you. (No offense to baby dobiegirls, but I never had one, LOL!)

Just tell Sugie his Auntie Lannie loves him very much!

Oh Auntie he loves you too!

Baby dobiegirls are definitely different than baby dobieboys now that I have had both.

I loved my gal but she was so different than Sugar. In a good way just different.

I always read about these boys being goofy and silly. Coco was a serious gal and I loved that about her but I love this silly sweet boy too!

Hi DT. Sugar here. I know technically I'm not still a puppy but my brain is still small and I am mama's baby so I am stopping in to check in.

It's cold here and we have some snow. I'm so glad Coco left me her coat because I wear it everyday when we go to the pond. I love to smell everything there and pee on all the trees!

Sometimes we go into the woods because it is warmer in there away from the wind. I love going in there with mama. We see the beaver forest where they cut the trees down for their lodge.

Mama here. The sweetest boy in town is now 2 but I want to keep adding to his story so I hope you don't mind.

Hope you are all staying safe in this crazy world we are in 🙃

Sometimes you do during the summer in the evening around 8. One year I was down there with Coco and there were 4 young ones playing in the pond. Swimming under the water, slapping their tails on the water and chirping. It's such a cute sound! There was 1 big one supervising the young ones lol. Sometimes they climb up the side of the pond too. I never have seen them chopping down the trees. I think they work at night for that. I've been to the pond 1 night and the next day certain trees were freshly cut down!

Not great pics like TNs because I always just use my phone!

This is near their lodge.

Lol John that was the best money I've ever spent on something for my dogs. I almost bought Coco a pink coat but she was more of a purple gal. And Sug is manly enough to pull any colour off 🤣😂.

Mel I actually don't see the beavers much for all the time I have spent down there over the last 12 years. They like to keep to themselves although they may swim underwater more than I know because every once in awhile they surface and go right back down again. I will try to get a pic of their lodge.

Funny story once a year Coco would lose her mind at the pond and jump in the water and stand on top of the beaver house. She knew she wasn't supposed to do either and would then come back to me with her head down because she knew mama was upset with her. She was always off leash there. Sugar is always on leash because he cannot be trusted yet!

Just for you Aunt Lannie!

This was from his birthday. He loves to lay that big old head on me and give me the look of Love because he is a sweet boy.

LadyDi this boy definitely keeps me on my toes! I absolutely love going to the pond and Coco loved going there too. Her last week with us my heart was breaking for so many reasons. And one of them was who would I go to the pond with. One night I was talking to her and telling her mama needed someone to share the pond with and I would need another dog but they would never replace her. She kissed me on my face and I knew then it was ok. She wasn't a kissy dog unlike this boy!

Sugar loves the pond as much as she and I do. I never went into the woods with Coco. It just wasn't something we did. But he loves going in there so we have created new adventures there together and I am so grateful for that! Although I much prefer it in the nicer weather. It's cold here!

Dobienose! I love Dobienoses as much as Dobietoes and Dobienubbins! :) Such a handsome boy.

Mama, I can still remember the feel of that heavy head on my lap, and the silky softness of the ears as I stroked them, and the firm, but sleek muscles on the shoulders and sides... you know, every time I see Sugie I am magically transported 30 years back in time, and it's like it was just yesterday. With the exception of his longer ears, Sugar is the spitting image of my boy. It pulls at me in the solar plexus. Every time. Thank you. Hugs and kisses for you and your sweet "baby" boy.
