CanCh Tiburon Demolition Man x CanCh Fabert's Living In Sin = 8 Puppies!

The litter I have been waiting on is at long last here!
Born February 26th, Sin had 8 beautiful healthy puppies, 6 boys and 2 girls.

I was third in line for a girl but in the end decided to pick up a boy

They'll be ready to go late April/early May (usually at 8-9 weeks old because they get their ears done at 7-8 weeks).

Boys are... Red, White, Green, Aqua, Dark Blue, Yellow

Here are a few pictures...

The day after they were born

The day they got their tails done:

Breeder will be allowing us to visit starting three weeks of age c:

Currently in the name searching phase as the prior names I had were more appropriate to a female. So far I have Orion and Thirteen!

Thirteen is a lucky number to me because my father was born on June 13th and my best friend (whom I've known from birth), May 13th. I also liked it as a nickname for one of the characters on House.

I also have added Spartacus as a potential name and Damon so I've got

Orion
The giant hunter who hunted with Artemis.

Spartacus
The Thracian gladiator who led a slave uprising in the Roman Republic. I also like the Starz series (Spartacus: Blood and Sand) in which the character is depicted as doing anything in his power and fighting impossible odds to be reunited with his wife, his love. I like the notion of loyalty here

Damon
Derived from Greek δαμαω (damao) meaning "to tame". According to Greek legend, Damon and Pythias were friends who lived on Syracuse in the 4th century BC. When Pythias was sentenced to death, he was allowed to temporarily go free on the condition that Damon take his place in prison. Pythias returned just before Damon was to be executed in his place, and the king was so impressed with their loyalty to one another that he pardoned Pythias.

Thirteen
Lucky number!

Yes but they haven't settled on one yet. They were thinking of rivers and bodies of water from around the world. Possibly Astrology or Space/Cosmos.

That might help me come up with a name when they decide!

Oh, definitely Damon in the name department. Many decades ago, one of my dogs was named Damon -- yes, after the Damon of Damon and Pythias. He was a wonderful dog, so your guy would be starting out with a great namesake. And that can't hurt.

So exciting to be looking forward to a new puppy. Congratulations. And enjoy this time -- before middle-of-the-night potty runs, puppy teeth, puppy shenanigans . . .

Congrats Artemis - So little & adorable, with their pug/wrinkle noses, just beyond cute...and later, get the milk belly photos (he-he).
- one favorite shot was a stacking pose at 6.5 weeks old, drinking out of milk bowl with plump belly showing
13 is also my wife's lucky number, and your boy will be one lucky pup in your life.

Our year 2000 girl was from Fabert, we didn't live nearby to visit so a few baby photos was all we had, to hold us over.
Eventually the weekend finally came to make the 7 hour drive to outside Montreal.
Our son Andrew was 17 y/o and we had been doberless for 14 years, so we gave him first family honors to hold puppy Amy.
- it was love @ first sight, for all of us...over the moon happy time
- took us 9 hours to drive home with fur-baby on board, as we got lost without GPS being invented yet
- we bonded immediately, cuddling in a Buick no less
But what a treasured memory of a ride home, that one Fabert pup blessed our hearts, she was everything we could of wished for & truly much more.

------------Kelly & (Amy - RIP @ 11.7 y/o)

Oh yessss I love the puppy bellies so much

This litter was not bred by Fabert, but part of what made up my mind was the fact that Sin is a Fabert girl, on top of this breeder having practices I love. I figured if Fabert trusted them enough to sell them two girls, it was for a good reason, and my own investigation revealed that it was.

I love reading about Amy when you mention her, so thank you for sharing that!

(And I can relate to the 9-hour ride thing! In 2005 we went to pick up my grandma's pup for her 70th birthday... drove from Montreal to somewhere Northeast of Guelph, then 1-2 hours more to stay overnight with my grandma's sister in law. I remember trying to comfort the puppy that first night sitting beside the crate without taking him out, and eventually had the brilliant idea of taking my hoodie off and wrapping it around his stuffed toy. He never cried again.)

Pups are a week old now... only two more to hold out before visits can start!

UPDATE:
Visited yesterday!

Red boy

Pink girl

Baby Blue girl

(Baby blue girl again)

Pup pups (red boy, aqua boy and I think the blurry one was white boy)

In some incredible news, Wrecker, the sire of the litter has gone to the US to get his American Ch. Results from the first weekend:
Quote:
Can CH Tiburon Demolition Man (CH Ravenswoods Azure Sky x CH Aquarius' Garbo v Tiburon) Wrecker 3 BOW's 2 majors 9 points and a BOB over eight specials in his US debut owned by Jon Kerr and John Dolan, bred by John and Addy Dolan
handled by Mimi
And last but not least, the only other woman to have a reserve on a female puppy has decided to wait on an other litter because she wanted a wider selection of females to choose from, so the breeders confirmed I will be getting a little girl after all. And since they want a high energy girl for themselves, and I want a calm pup, it all works out perfectly

On that note about my visit... it was really fun to see them as they're starting to show personality and tendencies. The first puppy to come up to me was red boy, who's currently the biggest, but I picked him up and he basically just snuggled me and chilled. Super calm boy. Second puppy to come up was pink girl, who was adorable and curiously went up to my mom but she was extremely energetic. When we put her back down she tried to run and play with the adult mini Schnauzer and the 4 month old girl they had in the house. She also kept pouncing and tackling her brothers and was quite nippy. So I knew she wouldn't be the girl for me. Third was Aqua boy, who snuggled both me and my mum. It was good because on the one hand he's extroverted and cuddly, however he did seem a little less confident than red boy to me. And last was baby blue girl, who came up to us and cuddled me, staying on my lap, then going to my mum, and then coming back to me. Blue girl, aqua boy and red boy all stayed close to us (or would leave then come back). Before we got the confirmation that I was getting a female, I was pretty sure the most suitable ones (in that order of preference) would be blue girl, red boy, aqua boy. (the way the breeder works is, you can express a preference, and they will tell you which ones they think are going to whom, but they also won't let you leave with one they think is ill-suited to your needs). Next week they get their portraits taken by a professional photographer. At 7 weeks they will have their temperaments tested and evaluated using the MIRA dog test. On April 27th, first half of the litter gets cropped, April 29th, second half. So they will be ready to go home by the first weekend of May.

I am so excited

The pups are adorable! Glad you are getting your little girl after all. Out of curiosity, what is going on with the hair loss around those puppies' eyes?

I think it's just the lighting on the pictures because in person the area wasn't hairless?
Here's a different picture

But I'll ask the breeder because I've never interacted with puppies that young before only 6,5 weeks+ so nothing struck me as abnormal but I don't know if that's because nothing was or if I don't know, what I don't know.

Puppies this morning getting ready for their pro photoshoot which is at 11. (You can see Nadia at the far right)

Later/tomorrow the breeders will practice stacking and share the photos!
Next week they get temperament tested.
Last week of April they get their ears cropped! It's coming so soon.

I don't know why my image links keep breaking. (I think I have an idea but) Anyway here is a screencap of the breeder's phone showing us the professional pictures! (Gonna keep the full version to myself). Love the pink flowers considering her newly chosen reg'd name, and apparently the microchipping went really well! Puppies had their first meal outside today. And it has been confirmed that I am picking her up on April 28th, I can hardly wait!

I'm bouncing off the walls. Taking Vanya for extra walks/runs because I can hardly contain my excitement xD I got Nadia a pink leather collar today so now she has a "Tiffany's teal" nylon and a pink leather... also ordered her name tag and got her city permit tag. We have an appointment with my vet on the day we pick her up. I keep going over my mental list of things I need. I'm trying to decide on whether I should get her one of those plush toys you can warm up for comforting the first few nights or if I should white knuckle it if she cries. I did see a very cute squeaky dragon plush toy at the pet store today, made me think of the Dragon Slaying Dobermans club on DT
