I am writing with concern regarding local Doberman Pinscher breeders in Victoria and Crestion, BC, by the names of Jasmine Zebic and Charlotte, also know as https://www.eurodoberman.com/
Jasmine posted a 4 year old female breeding dog named Dixie on Kijiji for rehoming a month ago. Dixieís last litter, 10 weeks ago, was large at 12 puppies and she required a c-section and would not longer be eligible for breeding. Therefore Jasmine was looking for a new home for her and her rehoming fee was $2500 as the dog was advertised with excellent temperament and health. I spoke with Jasmine and Charlotte in advance and they only had positive things to say about the dogís well being. I sent Jasmine payment in advance as requested and I picked up Dixie late Wednesday night September 23rd 2020, from a meeting spot. By Thursday morning I could tell something was very wrong with Dixie. All of her lymph nodes were swollen like I've never seen before, the size of golf balls, they are very lumpy, and she was weak. I took her to the emergency vet Thursday night and the first thing the vet said was the highest probability is the dog has progressed and terminal lymphoma, which was confirmed by her cytology report a couple of days later. I notified Jasmine immediately of what was happening, asked her to refund the rehoming fee and $430 vet bill, and come pick Dixie up so that she could start providing her with proper medical care. Jasmine then refused to come and get Dixie and ceased communication. Dixieís medical records have also been blocked from release from her previous veterinarian. After hearing of Dixie's condition Jasmine offered to refund $1000 of the purchase life if I would agree in writing that she wouldnt be responsible for any other costs (I believe this could be because she was aware she was sick. I had already spent $430 at the vet for cytology and necessary x-rays and ultrasounds are $1200, plus medication).
Update - Jasmine only started responding to my messages again once I said I was taking legal action and this ad was posted, but she is still failing to release the medical records. I believe the reason for this is because it would prove a breach of contract and show that she knowingly sold the dog in unhealthy condition. WARNING: lymphoma is passed down genetically, and Jasmine has not contacted the new owners from Dixie's recent litter 10 weeks ago.
FURTHERMORE - there are at least two other online reports of customersí puppies passing within 6 months after purchasing from Jasmine on Doberman Talk Forums. She also told me that she bred Dixie twice in the last 12 months, and I worry that this is because she knew Dixie was sick and wanted to breed her one last time.
I find it exceptionally cruel to pass a dog off in such an unwell condition and not notify the new owner, plus take $2500 from them. And it sounds like this is not the first time. Please stay away from this person and respond to this ad if you have similar stories as I am forming a civil lawsuit.
