Reputible Training In Long Island, NY

I am looking to find a trainer for Logan. He has basic obendience but lately has been testing me. He has been acting up and not that he is aggressive, he is super overly protective. So much so that walks are getting to be very hard to handle for me with him. He has gotten 10 times stronger on his new diet and I need a good trainer who can help with off leash training and walking on leash and also brushing up his basic obedience. He also has some seperation issues and needs to learn a leave command as he is posessive of nearly everything.

Ive searched online but looking for recommendations of trainers people have used/use.

Here are a few: Ann Paul has had several doberman students and might be a good fit for you. She has classes on Tuesday evenings in Syosset:
Riverstone Dog Training | Riverstone Dog Training

I train in Bayshore here: http://doggieuk9.com

And in Deer Park here: Suffolk Obedience Training Club

DoggieUk9 sounds familiar. Im wondering if they have a place in NJ because thats where Logan is from originally and the training paperwork i have for him at home has a similiar name.

Thanks, going to look in to these some more. Need to get him enrolled soon. Want to start classes as soon as the weather gets a little better.

DoggieUk9 is only in Bayshore. I know the owners so if there's one in NJ, it's a different owner.

Based on your other thread though, the first one I would recommend for your situation would be Ann Paul in Syosset on Tuesday's.

Yes! He might be able to help you. I've met Fabian and have seen him work. Excellent trainer!

Just talked to Samantha over at K9Team. We are determining whether a 3 week camp or private classes are best for him.
3 week boot camp is almost 2K so i dont know if he really warrants 3 weeks worth of training but just a brush up and a few individual privates might be best.
Will discuss with the husband and decide for tomorrow.

I had a evaluation with Fabian and Sam this afternoon. I thought it to be a good experience... but now reading up about his knowledge and renound training practices... I am beginning to understand why lessons are expensive-ish. I bet it it worth it with his know how.

I guess now they are relocating to my area

Fabian was my trainer for 2 years.
I loved his thinking about training dogs and my dog loved Fabian. I drove 1 hour each way 3 times a week to have him train Remy. He did a great job with him. Then Fabian made a life change and was now 3 hours away...That was a little too much for me. He offered to keep my Remy with him for training but I did not want to be without him. Fabian is still my go to person if I have any training questions.
If you have the chance to have Fabian as your trainer -take it. He does a wonderful job with Dobes. He knows the breed. He is not cheap but you get what you pay for.
