IPO/SCH/FR GTA surrounding area

Anyone know of a good SCH/IPO club or training facility in GTA area or even as far as Kitchener or Woodstock ?

North Toronto Ring Club doesn't do SCH but I heard it has a remarkable FR trainer Frederick

Saugeen I've heard good things but can't confirm... don't know about if the helper/decoys are good (that makes a huge difference)
Niagara Hundsport has a great helper but their methods and amount of correction or perception are highly influenced by their bad moods in my opinion so that place is out

Also it would be nice to have a club that geared on dobermans so they weren't constantly asking why you don't just get a Shepard because they are so much more balanced.

If you do like a club if you could comment on the helpers as well please

It's not my bag so I can't really comment on it. I just know a lady who trains her Doberman there.

Home | Oxford IPO Working Dog Club

I know them personally they've been at my club (North of Montreal) a few times. They have tight obedience, they primarily work Malinois but know Dobermans and one of my Dobe-owning friends trains her dobes with Michaela - and there have been other dobes there as well. One of their currently active members is a doberman person.

Anthony is the president and co-founder of the Canadian Working Dog Federation which is the all-breed IGP, FCI-member club in Canada. Both he and Michaela are world-level competitors.

FWIW though you should decide which sport you want to do before picking a dog. FR and IGP are pretty different and the qualities sought out for each in a dog are also different.

Synergy would be my first choice. Marvin Eng is an excellent helper. Dwyn Tomlinson is one of the best humans on the planet. There are other clubs that are pretty good, and I know many of the people there, because many use my Training Director as their mentor. A great number of the people from several clubs have traveled to BC to our annual work week to train under my training director, Lance Collins. I sent you a PM.
