Nosework in the snow

We've been battling extreme cold, and now about an entire winter's worth of snow in less than 2 weeks...Sypha is BORED!

I set some hides outside in the snow to try and tire her out, both from searching, as well as from running back and forth through deep snow We didn't last long, and my video technique isn't great, between mittens, and fumbling for her cheese, but...just a little fun for you. The extra great part is she knocked the tin of the second hide into the snowbank, and it's GONE! It'll be there until spring, I guess

Very fun! I haven't done many snow hides. I'm a big wuss!

I have to show this to my daughter to encourage her. She has that much snow in her backyard, too and it isn't fun thinking about going out and working in it. We have a trial in Montrose, Colorado
coming up in about 3 wks! Going to be cold there, too! This is inspiring. Thx.

I'm not big on outdoors in this weather, but we've been SO cooped up. Sypha isn't a big fan of cold, either, but you can see it's WAY more fun if you're hunting odor! I only videoed her first search, but we were out maybe 20 minutes or so. I just worked her on a couple of hides, and I'd place them pretty far apart so she'd have to run through the snowbanks and get extra tired She loved it!
