MACH runs - obsessed!

Anyone else obsess over MACH runs? I youtube them all the time to look for new ones. Pipe dreams, but I hope not! I'd be willing to eat ramen noodles and PBJ for a looooooong time to have the money to get a MACH. Wonder and I were doing 2o2os on the stairs last night with a nose touch, he'll do anything if I tell him it's "for 'gility!" I need to get a set of weaves to work with, but I need that backyard first! Soon though, soon.

Wonder runs on a harness currently because he is a pulling monster in the ring and I don't want to dampen that enthusiasm. I just spent 2 hours covering it for him so it doesn't rub his armpits and make him itch.

I have dreams about crosses and course strategy. I think I'm an addict...anyone else?

I really love agility, but don't obsess that much. When I obsess on things I tend to lose my objectivity and/or make mistakes more often :-)

I'd love for Flirt to be my first MACH dog. My goal was for my current Vizsla to be but since we seem to be stuck in Open due to a refusal to weave or down on the table (picture tantrum child screaming), we've stopped trialing for awhile.

I've been having DH tape our practices so I can hopefully fix many of the bad things I do as a handler this time around. Last night's session showed me how much longer it really does take for a Dobe to collect and move vs a 21" Vizsla and how LATE my commands are...still. I taped them both doing the same thing. Oddly I thought my Vizsla was a lot faster, but timewise they did it almost exactly the same. Just a small 3 sequence 180 to teeter.

I use a padded harness on Yoda and I encourage him with the "ready! ready! ready!" chant to build his enthusiasm for the tunnel and the dog walk - we are not doing the AF or the teeter yet (well teeter at half height but not more until we get a 2o2o rock solid on the plank first). He's a baby dog so I don't run him naked. And I don't want to have pressure on a collar since that can be aversive - and he is a little man so it's not like he will drag me very far - just 5ft or so. Boris could drag me 20ft, yeah <sigh> (sniff).

About goals: I try not to have goals since I am a bit competitive and I don't want to obsess about what we do for fun. If we get there, so be it. If we don't, oh well!
