Can you condition agility tunnels?

I recently came across a fantastic opportunity to buy a competition grade agility tunnel for the amazing price of 15.00. It is the same kind that I've seen at the trials. Although it still has much life left in it, if I don't take EXTREME good care, it will not last but a few years. I think whoever had it before left it outside.

My question is this, Is there anything you can do to condition the material? It seems very brittle from sun damage. Regardless even if it cant be reconditioned I wont regret buying it how could you go wrong for 15.00 LOL. If anyone has any suggestions would love to hear them.

I don't know about reconditioning the material, but for $15 I'd snatch it up. Even if it only lasts a year...

I know I'm THRILLED about it! Couldn't' have come at a better time for us as we are heavy duty practicing right now. I really hope that their is something to use on it to soften it just a little so the toenails don't puncture it.

I agree snatch it up. Wish I had info on conditioning. If I remember I'll ask my trainer this week at class. I got a used one for $50 and I fgured even if I got a year out of it, it would be worth it. I don't regret it at all so far!

My daughter has been involved with 4-H for the last 4 years, I've helped train the kids in fitting and showing and obedience for the last 3. Our regional training directer (who is also our 4-H leader) came across this deal she was replacing old 4-H equipment. She actually picked up 3 of them and told me she would sell one to me for what she paid for it. Of course I did snag it quickly and am very happy I did.

Depending on the plastic used to make it, what about "Armor-All"?

Is it plastic, or canvas? Or that parachute material?

If it's either of the latter two, an outdoor store, camping outlet, etc, may have some suggestions and products for you.

I would make sure they know it's going to have dogs in it, though, and take care they don't recommend anything that might be toxic.
