2017 Training Wish List

I don't think anyone has started a "wish list" thread for 2017 yet, so here goes. Feel free to add your training goals for the upcoming year, as well. It doesn't matter if they are "survive getting this puppy house trained" or "getting an OTCH/UDX".

These are some of the things I'd like to accomplish with my crew in the upcoming year.

Ilka
These are "really aiming for" goals
All Dogs Parkour Level 5/Championship (ADP L-5/ADP-CH) I will be switching her to Special Division after Level 3
International Dog Parkour Association Novice level title (PKD-N)
Non Competitive Obedience Association Advanced Beginner Level title (NCO-2)
Cyber Rally-O Level 2 title (CRO-2)
Cyber Rally-O Dance Division Preliminary title (D-CRO Preliminary)
Do More With Your Dog Expert Trick Dog title (ETD)
Fenzi Training Excellence Assessment Modules Level 1 (TEAM1)

These are "nice bonus!" goals:
Legs toward an ADP Grand Championship
Legs toward CRO-3 and/or CRO-1/2 Championships
Legs toward D-CRO Pre-Bronze title (D-CRO-PreBr)
Fenzi Training Excellence Assessment Modules Level 2 (TEAM2)

These are "super-duper, fantastic bonus!' goals
All Dogs Parkour Grand Championship (ADP-GCH)
Non Competitive Obedience Association Level 3 title (NCO-3)
Fenzi Training Excellence Assessment Modules Level 3 (TEAM3)
Cyber Rally-O Level 3 title (CRO-3)
Cyber Rally-O Dance Division Pre-Bronze title (D-CRO-PreBr)
Cyber Rally-O Level 1 Championship (CRO-CH-L1)

Leo

This is an "OMG, over the moon!" goal:
a United Kennel Club Novice Level Nosework title in any element

Lily

ME
1. Train with the most positive-based, compulsion-free methods I can.
2. Just get out there and train, darn it. Even if it's only a few minutes, work on something with all of them every week.
3. Don't compare my dogs, my training, and our accomplishments (or lack thereof) to any one else's.
4. Love my dogs for who they are.
5. Love my dogs, period.

Maiya has to recertify in air scent for SAR. New for her will be, hopefully, therapy dog certification. She needs to tone down her obnoxiously friendly greetings.

I actually have Ivan back in SAR doing HRD, so I'd like to get a basic certification with him. He's not as focused as I'd like, but it's doable.

I want to work towards doing therapy work with Riddick. For those working towards a therapy dog certification, that means you already do therapy work and are working towards 50 visits?

Brandy -
Nose Work: Get into an NW3 trial. I'm not expecting much if we ever make it off the wait lists, I just want to experience it.

Newton -
Conformation: Hopefully earn our first point(s).
Nose Work: Begin training for NW1 competition.
Enter an ORT for birch.
Possibly enter an element trial in the fall.
Agility: Take the Intro class and see if we like.

I hope to start SE's season off officially a year from now. I rushed for everything with Emily and I am not going to do that again. We are training obedience in Ft. Collins on Mondays and Wednesdays. Tuesday's agility has now been rescheduled for Fridays and Schutzhund is on Sundays at Elizabeth, Colo. I missed last week pretty much on everything. Was not feeling good and didn't train on Sunday or Monday night. Wednesday's training was cancelled due to 10 in of snow in Ft Collins and temps cancelled agility. Hopefully, she will be more mature at 3 and ready to settle into business. We are struggling with a hover butt on sit recalls but hopefully that will get better. I would love to be able to get her CD and her BH in IPO work.

I don't know how I'm feeling about trialing this year. So one of my goals will probably be to decide how I feel about trialing this year ;-)

Reasonable Training Goals:

1. Train, even if it's just for 5 or 10 minutes, at least 4 times a week.
2. Conditioning work! Every week! At least 3 dedicated conditioning sessions each week, and work in little micro-conditioning exercises at least twice a day.
3. Fix that broken retrieve, i.e. get the dumbbell release under stimulus control.
4. More scent discrimination work too.
5. Look into, for real, non-AKC obedience/rally titles. Maybe try a couple?
6. Start actually trying to train a go out.

I'd love for Piper to get her CGC. And I'd like to handle her in a conformation show and manage to look competent. The second one is a big maybe that I'm toying with.

Tucker and I trialed in utility for the first time ever this weekend & came away with our first leg!! I am super proud of him. In Canada, three utility passes gives the dog an OTCH so I am really hopeful.

Getting closer to our goal. Indy has another qualified run towards a level 3 nose work title. We need one more and next trial is in June.

I have a couple of updates!!

Tucker earned his second utility leg at our home trial earlier this month! One more leg to his (Canadian) OTCH! I am thrilled for him

Miss Ryan was able to run her first ever CAP trial (CKC equivalent to your CAT). I don't think the legs will count because I don't have her registration yet but she is a lure course MANIAC!! She ran her little heart out while screaming at the lure almost the entire time! I can't wait until her registration is in order and we can keep trialing!!

Adele - I just got Adele yesterday, she is a 1 year old Doberman.
1) CGC
2) Barn Hunt novice title
3) NACSW ORT for Birch
4) Take an intro agility class
Update - Finn

Nosework - Finn has attempted NW2 three times now, passing 3 of 4 elements each time. Timing wise, I don't think we'll have another attempt this year. However, he has his NW1, L1V, and L1E titles. He has trials for L1C, L1I, and L2V this year. In UKC, he has his novice nosework title, advanced titles in interiors, exteriors, and containers, and a superior leg in containers. We have a UKC trial coming up later this year where I hope to finish his advanced title and maybe get some more superior legs. We are also going to try an AKC trial this year.

I've been taking Rally classes with him and also did Fenzi performance fundamentals, so his tuck sit and heel are coming along nicely. Finally, we got his Advanced Trick Dog title and I just need to put a video together to get his AKC Performer title. I am thinking about trying cyber rally and parkour with his as well.

Update - Addie

No progress on CGC, just hasn't been a focus for us. However, Addie did pass her ORT for birch and anise, and is #1 on a waitlist for NW1 next month. I am also thinking of entering her in UKC and AKC nosework trials this year, although that would require me to register her with AKC.

Addie has her novice barn hunt title and will be in a couple trials this year so may get her open title. I also just submitted her intermediate trick dog title. I think she would also be a natural for parkour.
