We've been taking Nosework classes through Denise Fenzi Dog Sports academy and it's been a lot of fun. We've had some challenges along the way but we're making slow and steady progress.
Soter is rock solid on his containers and interiors YEA! He's very environmentally sensitive though so exteriors and vehicles are proving to be a bit of a challenge. The weather has been horrible so we haven't been able to practice much on the exteriors but we're working on vehicles in a private underground parkade. We're hoping that if he gets a good, solid, distraction free foundation it will make the transition to outdoors a bit easier.
We drove with all the dogs to Nanaimo in July to attend a Nosework workshop with Lucy Newton and it was a fabulous experience. Our wonderful breeder pup-sat all the girls for us while my husband, Soter and I attended the workshop. We learned so much and came back with all sorts of new ideas for training!
If we keep at it, our instructor thinks we should be ready for a trial in the spring!
