Nervous mom here.....

We've gone thru so much with MoJo in the last two years....first the tail thing (pinched nerve)...when we took him for xrays of his tail, we saw that his hips are pretty darn arthritic....and we saw he was developing Sponlyosis in his spine (pretty eventful and crappy Vet trip)....the tail thing developed into Reflex dyssynergia, where his uretha spasams, and he cannot pee. He's been on Prazosin and a side orders of Valium and Rimadyl for that since Dec. 08.

The Vet put him on daily Rimadyl about 3 weeks ago, and he's been feeling so good.

This morning it became apparent that it hurts to lay down....not so much laying down, but getting there hurts. He's got that worried look, too...so I don't think he's all that comfortable laying there. He's not limping, or favoring anything.....eating good, bowels fine, peeing good....something just hurts. We've been living on the edge with the Dyssynergia....most dogs end up with endless bladder infections and finally kidney disease from it...but I've faithfully made sure he pees every two to four hours, got him to drink water on command thirsty of not, so we've gone 2 years with no infections at all....but everytime something new crops up, I get really nervous...like is this new development going to be the end of him?

I'm just blathering here, cuz I feel so jumpy....keeping him on leash walks today, no playing....hoping like hell he just tweeked something and tomorrow we'll go on like this never happened. Just had to displace the nerves...thanks for letting me do it here.

Awww... With all you have been through with MoJo heath-wise, it's no wonder you are a little jumpy about a pain of unknown origen. Hopefully he will get a good night's sleep and be back to his old self tomorrow.

I had to go to work, and hubby just called to say that he's still can't get comfortable....will stay on the leash walks for potty tomorrow, and if there is no improvement will get him into the Vet on Monday.

I'm really a wimp when it comes to a dog in pain....thanks everybody for the positive thoughts.

I'm so sorry. Hopefully it isn't something real serious. He has been through so much poor guy. I have never even heard of the tail issue nor most of the stuff he has. Wow. (((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))).

It’s so hard watching our dogs hurt, but double hard to not know what it is. I hope MoJo feels better today so you can relax together. He’s in my thoughts and my positive energy is heading out.

This morning Moj seems to be somewhat more comfortable....he's still very careful when he lays down and gets up.....but doesn't do that panting and have the worried look once down. He's still content to do the leash walks (not bugging me to play something).....so tho he's still hurting, it's not as acute as yesterday morning....my stomach is unknotting .

He has company this week....his cousin Ellie the Pug....her being here also contributes to his contentment (up until the last year, we've always had more than one dog.....so he likes it when she comes to stay).

Thanks every one....it helps to be able to spit out the fretting somewhere.
