Cool Interesting Youtube training videos for folks needing help

https://youtu.be/3NtEHAoELCk

Cheri Lucas Behaviorist - she brings up some real interesting information "in this specific video" regarding dog parks. Some of hers I disagree with ...but this is one I support.

We hear from so many new owners of the struggles they deal with living far away from trainers, work schedules, etc.......youtube offers many good videos....also ...many bad videos..........so for those of us trying to help others with behavior issues .......helping others find videos we support and sharing with others might be helpful.

Just watched the video... With a few exceptions, I agree with everything that she put out.

OMO, a good watch,

Thanks for the response. Fun to sift through some of the youtube videos out there that support some of the things we write about frequently.
For the new puppy owners ...........as I also recall .......it gets so frustrating to pick even a class because the training techniques can differ so much.
So.......Fun to shortcut the process for the new puppy owners and find videos that support our different philosophies via video.
I know some of the forum members read a lot......me .....not so much ....I have always learn’t better......through what I view in videos ......so hey 4x4 consider finding a video that you support........anyway thanks again for the input..........

Thanks Di ! Just had time this morning to watch this , Would be a good video for first time dog owners . I do agree with her that the mental challenge is tiring for them . Over the years - we always do some kind on mental work - with Kasia - it was just simply putting one of her balls in a tube type sock and I would tie the sock so the ball would not fall out - that gay would take her paws and hold that sock and use her teeth and untie the sock - lol - We had many friend that saw her do this and would ask - Why don't she just chew threw the sock and get it ? Well - that was good question - but I think the real reason was she was very smart - She sat there and watched me put the ball in the sock - her thinking was the only way for the ball to come out was by the way it went in - At first - I just used a simple one tie and when she got that down and breezed threw that I did a double knot - not tight ! then she got that down - she made it up to a simple 3 knot , lose tie - lol Then she would go take a nap : ))

Ali never like that game - her fun is when I take Kadin out to do OB work - she is not on a lead - yet , she will walk along side as though she is - Kadin on my left - Ali on my right - I have Kadin sit - she sits too - what ever we do she does along with us - Wife said it is so cute to watch do this .

Dog parks ? I think of them like going to the Vets office ! Most at the Vets office are untrained - lap dogs - When were there - most on a long lead - People not paying any attention - and a dog park is - dogs just running around - really unsupervised . To me ? It's a train wreck looking for a place to happen .

Thanks for link, LD.

Just watched several of the Cheri Lucas videos, she has many!
Didn't see any of high energy and/or prey drive Dobermans...

Lots of good information, but with some observations, as others have mentioned:

Her videos with dogs in them are much more effective than just straight talk ones.

Why is it necessary, or desirable to walk 7-10 dogs at once?
I believe she should demonstrate pack behavior with 2-3 dogs, which most people might experience. When I walk (2) Dobes at once, en route to a nearby unimproved park area, people clear away when they encounter the Doberman pack...

Head harnesses a no no for Dobermans...

Call me a sexist, but Cheri's tight, low cut revealing yoga outfits in many of the videos are a distraction from the good canine information being conveyed. Yeah, she's fit, but she shouldn't flaunt it. And, having no pockets or pouches for extra stuff needed on dog training or walks is impractical, IMO. But I suppose in this world of YouTube and advertising, anything to pull viewers in, goes.

@ SD...

I must be a sexist also as I too found her "outfit" distracting. Especially the seam running down the front of her tights. I just seemed a little weird. Almost like it was planned.

Di...

I am a snowflake! Her outfit was a negative trigger! OMG... I need to find my safe place!.

Oh wait... I forgot. I live in Oregon where the unofficial state motto is:

Oregon... Came for the fishing. Stayed for the strip clubs...

So, never mind.
