I love her spotted butt!

That one shot of her in the woodpile gave me the creeps, though!

What if there is a copperhead in there????

no snakes in the woodpile, though some of them mice are pretty tuff.

I love the frog hunting look the best too. She is so happy frog season is almost here.

Darkevs,

She doesn't try to squeeze through the gate?

Axel would have been through that in a heartbeat.

Before her hips started bothering her she would go over, under or through almost any gate or fence, now she just waits for Chuck to open the gate for her.
Unless I have hooked it shut, then they both wait for me to open it.

How about voles (mouse relative)?
I tried to rescue a vole out of a window well once---I prodded him with a stick, trying to push him into a wastepaper basket to scoop him out.

He grabbed the stick in his teeth, shook it and GROWLED. Never heard a mouse growl before.

Eventually got him out...but if he had been bigger, I would have been in fear for my life. LOL I exaggerate, but still....

Dot is a hunter.

Voles, mice, rats, frogs etc. are no match for her, she has an awesome nose, great hearing and sight. You should see her pounces, she is quick too.

Sometimes her and Chuck will spend an hour or more hunting down a rat and digging it out.

But usually she hunts alone. Chuck and I just watch and learn.
