I have no clue what order NoBite is going to post the pics, but there is a pic of my Dry Pond, Dominic and Princess Lily Belle. One pic of the neighbors DD's (well, at least 2 of the A-holes). The black Dane pup seems okay. I hope NB blows that pic up, so you can actually see their partial pack of dogs. But, if not, you can at least see I take pride in my property and the neighbors don't.

Spock,

Patience, Grasshopper!

What a rough few weeks, Lannie. I'm sorry.

It sounds like you need a visit from a couple of CT specialists. I bet B67 can handle a roof, and we know SP is good at wallpaper stripping. I'm almost sure she could manage some exterior house painting.

LDi and I will sit in the shade and supervise with a few tall drinks. You do have a little shade still? I hate it when big trees go over, so sad.

Hang in there. I know you will. It seems to be one of your fortes, entirely admirable.
Dang - Is it Morning already ? Early morning at that !

Those hummingbird shots, TN. :heartforyou:

I won't say that about the bottom two, or your missus might come after me. But that Mocha girl sure is purty. I'll have to get your address from LDI. If you notice she's not in your yard anymore, let me tell you she's got a good home. I hope Hairy and she will learn to get along.

Just got back from a walk. :hot: I figured I was just tired because of chugging up and down the hills in that heat, but got home and measured it on Google maps. I actually went about 4 miles--and it's still hot.

It's really only about 84, but the sun is bright and I was going as fast as I could manage. Dog is sacked out on the cool floor and I'm not much better.

That bottom one TN is a great shot !

Kadin as got to where he don't like his picture taken , puts his head down - ears down - can't get him to look at me - nothing .
Thanks Kenny and most of the time, Mocha is the same way. It drives me up the wall...we'll be out on the patio, out in the yard or even on the trail and she'll be watching me, ears straight up, not moving her eyes off me UNTIL I either bring up the camera or the iPhone, then she lowers her ears and looks away LOL

Thanks, Mel. Ha, I just noticed that in those pics, the bottom of Mocha's nose is still dirty from cleaning out my yogurt container just prior to us going outside LOL.

Hey what is this...LadyDi wants to take off with my smoker, you and Denny want to take off with my dog...I may have to get another Doberman to protect my smoker and Mocha...yeah, that's the ticket, the perfect excuse...wonder if Mrs. TN will fall for it?

TN--- WHY did you DARE ME ?? And people say I'm "NOT " right ! Why did I look up something posted by somebody else that's " NOT " right ? I bet you swallowed gold fish whole at the fair to didn't you ?

Now the question -- How am I not going to think about your post the rest of the day ?

I advise that nobody else look it up !
DANG! Kenny if you hadn't launched into that tirade I wouldn't have gone and looked it up--lol! The advice was good but came a little too late.

Now ROTFLMAO!! ABTLH

CowBoy steaks - where cutoff pieces are glued together, with bad stuff.
- tried them once, on advice of neighbor
- I didn't know at first...about the glue, but tasted awful
- even former Amy, wouldn't get them either / this is all, Beau had to see
I meant to ask before but forgot, 67, what kind of cut do they call Cowboy steaks up there? Here, the ones we get at Sam's Club (also called tomahawk steak) are nothing more than bone-in-ribeye and are really tasty when thrown on the grill. The below are images I pulled off the internet:

Aunt Bug - did you watch the finish of the NASCAR race yesterday ? What a last 8 laps ! I think that may have been the best finish I have ever seen on a road course ! What a finish ! And the Best thing ? A Indiana young man won it ! Chase Briscoe , He came up from Sprint cars and his dad and grandpa were both big shoes in the sprint cars :2smile:
Not only did I watch the NASCAR finish but I wrote I wrote a big long post about it and thanked to profusely and now have the NASCAR Cup Series race on today.--just watched someone--this rv has too small a screen--I need to go in the bedroom and watch. But I just watch someone pull out of the pack and move up about 6 places --he just did it again--whoever it is--moved up to third place now. And someone else just got squashed off the track--the announcer narrowly avoided saying that the driver was pissed--but stopped in time to say he was upset.

OK, I see I'm not doing any more lawn and garden stuff today than I got done yesterday afternoon.

But I've got about a million questions for you Ken. I came to auto racing late so I see these weird looking cars that look like they are wearing box kites on top of them and I wanna' know what the things on top do--or prevent. And are those sprint cars or what.

I'm sure everyone remembers last summer when I asked why they called some racing cars "funny cars" But I gotta' say that Beau gave me a great explanation.

I'll be back when there is a long break--to ask more.

Hahahahahah - those steaks look awesome!

We picked up some nice ribeyes earlier this week, but tossed them in the freezer as we still have leftovers to finish off. Maybe we'll grill them later this week.

I can admire some of the spendy watches and their not so spendy counterparts but after all the years of breaking watch springs on "nice" watches I'm perfectly happy with the Timex, cassio and other el cheapo watches (I used to shop for the under $10 types--what with inflation and all now I shop for under $20. My only requirement are that they have numbers instead of slash marks on the dial for times, a sweep second hand and be water resistant to 10 meters. A lighted dial is a bonus.

Beau--Canadian style BLT sound really good to me...

I haven't got time to mind my watch. Never going to leave my phone behind though!

Even though I don't answer it.

My brother called me from the driveway to tell me he was here.

I ignored him the first time and he called back.

When I answered he asked if I wanted to see my puppy.

9 week old black Miniature Schnauzer.

Cute, cute, cute, cute.

He was holding his own with the big dogs.

Then my brother left and took my puppy away.

Good morning ! Early start again to beat some of the Super heat we are having here .

6 days till YKW ! :grin2:

YKW? I didn't know SP was going to visit you?....

Did you just put a pool in, BTW? >:) Haha!

----------------------------------------------------------

Reached 102F here yesterday and 100F previous day! Took advantage and went swimming with pack. We got Spock and Lanah in pool for some antics. Lanah is starting to like the water and coming in on her own. Spock still swims like a spastic canine. However, he loves the pump water squirted all over him and in his face, using pool cleaner feed hose. I'll try to get video today of same.

Cressrb - why is that ? / we stopped buying Organic Eggs from a local farm.
- damn eggs, where a mess to peal shells
- now we buy Costco free range eggs...they peal fine

^^ Anyone know why ? ....we always wondered
OK--on peeling eggs. The fresher the egg is the harder it is to peel when hard boiled. The eggs you buy from a local farm are usually very fresh--the membrane inside the egg is at it's thickest and that also helps make them harder to peel.

Many years ago my grandmother showed me how to peel really fresh eggs. First you tap the pointy end hard enough to really make it crack--then you tap it another couple of times. Turn it around crack the round end the same way. Then take it in the palm of your hand and roll it back and forth on the counter top and finally pick it up and roll it between your palms. Then peel it--starting at one end or the other. And doing all that takes far less time than it did for me to type this. Generally if you do that the egg will peel easily.

The membrane at that point sticks harder to the egg than to the shell and rolling it pulls it loose from the eggl. Older eggs, the membrane had thinned and sticks mostly to the shell not the egg. So now you know how to do it. And why it happens.

You OK Beau?

What Aunt B said.

Or you could go the Martha Stewart route and put two metal bowls together, one flipped upside down with the eggs in there and shake, shake, shake.

Never tried it. That would make one more dirty dish to wash.

Good day all!

Does anyone in your household use the pool?

What a waste!

And here I thought you were talking about some kind of stock car race or something. >:)

Though I do predict a lot of racing around in your household in a week or so. "Open the door, hurry! She's getting ready to........oops, too late."

Both pictures fit Kadin to a tee ! LOL Oh yes - Like all the rest - it will be a adventure Mel - But you know - That is where all the great memories are made from - good and even the bad ones - lol

Danged DT would not do anything with the post I tried to post (send it) and then disappeared it--if I could murder a machine for doing things like that I would...and then I was so irritated about it I gave up and went to bed.

But the upshot was yes, indeed I missed all of the Indy cars but I did get home in time to see about the last half of the NASCAR race on the 4th. I sure did see the end--I almost had a heart attack watching Briscoe make that last pass to regain the front. The announcer made sure that all of us knew that it was a hometown boy that was doing his best to win that race and from the smile on Briscoe's face when they were taking pictures he was more than a little excited about it.

And not only did I catch the NASCAR race but they showed a couple of Belmont races after that so I got to see some horse racing too.

And they posted dates for a variety of NASCAR races (like the one that was on yesterday--the 5th) and one that is on later this month but it looks like NBC (a channel I rarely watch) is THE place for NASCAR around here.

Anyway I was going through your link and realized I know almost nothing about car racing--I know a lot more about hydroplanes (at least the unlimited ones) than cars. And then most of my spare time was taken up with dog shows and dogs. And in between the dogs I did a lot of sailing, including a lot of sailboat racing. (At least that's my excuse)

So now I have these endless questions. Like the one Beau answered last year about 'funny' cars. Now I want to know about those little cars that sometimes race with what looks like a box kite on top of them (what's it for? What does it do or prevent?

And I just got to see enough of yesterday's NASCAR race to see a bunch of crashes when someone came by to pick up pills (dog pills) and tell me about a local (or fairly local) pair of Specialties which so far haven't yet been canceled--at least the Dobe specialties haven't been. By the time she left the racing was over. Drat!
