I have no clue what order NoBite is going to post the pics, but there is a pic of my Dry Pond, Dominic and Princess Lily Belle. One pic of the neighbors DD's (well, at least 2 of the A-holes). The black Dane pup seems okay. I hope NB blows that pic up, so you can actually see their partial pack of dogs. But, if not, you can at least see I take pride in my property and the neighbors don't.

Spock,

Patience, Grasshopper!

Here are a few more that I like.

Tangerine Dream - Sun Gate (wait for the guitar :) )

Tangerine Dream - Yellowstone Park (from the album Le Parc, 9 songs about 9 different parks around the world)

Tangerine Dream - Melrose (the sax!)

Tangerine Dream - Comet's Figurehead
The guitar for some reason made me think of Steve Vai….do not know why.

I think I liked the last one best - That your moon photo? :2smile:

If not familiar with Steve Vai: he is quite expressive.

Hairy agility...

High value treats--check
Pull toy play--check
Lots of praise and jumping up and down from me--check

He loves the rest, especially the walk and the A-frame. The weave poles...eh...not so much. So I try having his favorite obstacles right after the poles to see if I can get him revved up to get to the fun stuff. The other part I've been told is to focus ahead on where I want him to go, not on looking straight at him. Because if he catches my eye, he's liable to slow down to see what he's supposed to do next.

The jury is out as to whether that is helping. If he gets too wild he starts popping out of the poles.

Goodness, he makes that guitar sing! Reminds me a bit of Joe Satriani. I happened to start reading the comments below the 2nd video and some of them had me in tears :grin2:

Amy was puppy trained to excel in OB - because Dad trained her street walking off-leash, before any on-leash...ALL based on our BOND strength & Mutual LOVE (in my Touch & Voice Tone)...a unique willing to please, resulted.
- after the beginner agility, it was obvious...her heart was not in it
- Mrs67 said, you can't put her through the torture of any more classes
- she doesn't see, any value in it // so True...she was too smart, in all other ways

You see, Amy was a delight to puppy train in OB, our training was over the top, Fun for her.
- she saw the Clicker are a foreign language / and not needed, in her good lifestyle

Plus the way I train Amy, her eyes was LOCKED on me, 24/7 in training.
- she would not look straight ahead...if Agility required it :grin2:
- she was Dads girl, and Followed me...not the other way around
- maybe she convinced me, Agility was nothing more than Circus tricks...not for her

Doc, Wait a minute, where the hell did your snow go?
Oh yeah, good morning everyone.
Let’s all get up and roll!!!!! (Thats trike talk) :x
Been on a bike forum, learning all the lingo!!!!!!
Funny , started a new thread on the bike forum, first response was from a real smart azz.
Obviously “roger” a senior member on the forum is a two wheeler and has a problem with 3 wheeler cruisers .........
But then some others members came onto my thread and crushed his smarty pants comments. Ha!
Yup, its gonna be a great year.
Time to burn some bootie. >:)
Come on, lets roll!

I shall pass, but thank you very kindly for the invite.

I prefer to roll in a Denali pickem up truck or roll a bowling ball down the lane and hit the right pocket. I could use a utility vehicle of some sort to get to the other side of my property. If your golf cart is for sale, I might interested in buying it!

I could actually take the puppy in with me on Sundays and holidays--we only ever board cats who need medication so it's rare that there would be anything around for Joey to catch. All of my own puppies grew up in the clinic--there is a small kennel area with a raised tub for bathing dogs or cats or messy stuff like treating very constipated cats. The clinic cats have their kennels in there and there are three dog kennels.

Used to freak new hires when they came in and found a Doberman and a couple of Goldens sharing a run. Or even better was the time when we had several kitten litter rescues--one of our vets was back in that ward doing something and came out to find me--she wanted to know if I knew there were several of the kittens in with Toad. I walked back with her to see what was going on--the kittens were loose (they were in the kennels at night and the early morning staff and turned them loose and shut the outer door to the ward. So about half of the kittens were in Toad's run--several of them were sleeping on his feet and the rest were drinking out of his water dish (dog water is better than cat water).

Joey is still not terribly accustomed to being left alone at this point so he tends to scream a lot--that's the only reason I don't take him in with me. I'm fairly busy when I'm in there and no one else is--But I do take him in just to visit every 10 days or so.

The staff think he's wonderful--so he gets petted and played with and Dan, our ultrasound tech always takes him for a walk over to the auto repair place across the street from us--so he gets to meet a lot of guys (the clinic is full of mostly females ) so getting to go play with a bunch of guys is good for him.
Is it possible to send us pics of Joey?

:x

The rain can stop any time now...just a nasty, rainy, dark, gloomy day.

BUT, I've been binge watching season one of Lost In Space on Netflix. Didn't bother when it first came out for whatever reason but some of my coworkers have been raving about the show and how good season 2 was so I started watching it earlier today and now can't stop. But ugh, the Dr. Smith in this one is truly hateful and I'm thinking the show would have been better without her.

BBQ chicken and some tater salad for dinner in a few, and that's about how my exciting life has been going today (not complaining, sitting at home, binge-watching Netflix on a rainy day beats being at work any time...well, I would rather be out taking pics :photographer: )

I had someone in a few minutes ago to give an estimate for the shower job as I go back to work Monday!

As we were finishing up the discussion it began raining quite hard with lightning. So we talked a bit more then moved to the living room and talk about other stuff. I asked him about his grandsons (I know his son - works with me). Finally rain slackened up and he left.

Mila was upstairs with my wife and not happy about the thunder and lightning. Kept trying to climb on mom's back! :grin2:

When we came down wife and I were talking and next thing Mila is barking and howling....sniffing all around where the guy was. Then she sniffed all the way into the bathroom where we were discussing the job and was barking as she went in!

She knew someone had been in those areas that wasn't supposed to be. :2smile:

We finished season 2 a few days ago. Dr. Smith is quite the person. Overall I liked it and waiting on the next season to come along.

Somewhere around episode 7 season 3 still on Man in High Castle - I also like this show as well.

Succession so far are not on Amazon, Netflix...so will have to wait on them. I think Patriot AJ mentioned is available - will have to look into that one.

Hi all! Just thought I'd drop by and then I'm probably going to bed. I seem to be on nights at the moment. Trucked by the dog gym yesterday. All is going well, except he is SLOWWWWWW going through the weave poles. Any ideas? Bug??
Mel,

What system are you using to train the weaves, I'm told by die hard agility folk that the best way is the two by two. Starting a dog with a treat and open two post agility poles to start. Open the poles to maximum. start dog so his left shoulder will enter foreward of the first post and have someone or a very obvious highly desireable treat foreward of the second post and make sure that you've set his location so that he will pass the second post with his right shoulder at the second post.

This is not how I trained weave poles though--but I'm told it's the best/easiest way to get accuracy and speae.

How I did it.

I had two sets of slide apart weaves They could be broken down to 1/2 sets--consisting of 3 poles each--I started with just one half set--opened them up all the way (these also used wires fastened low enough that the were at mid body height for whatever breed you were training--Henry the Aussie's wire's were about 6 to 8 inches lower than the Dobes.

I started out leaving the dog on a sit stay directly in front of the opening down the center of the weave poles with no wires up. And because I was almost always working alone the treat at the end was on the ground. I'd go back to the dog and start him by yelling "GO WEAVE" and I'd run with him--sometimes with a leash on to sort of keep him in the channel. I did that until he knew what "GO WEAVE" meant and until he could run all the way down the open channel of 12 weave and with no wires up.

Then I'd go back, put the wires on one of the half sets--and we'd start again, going fairly slowly and using a leash so he got the idea that he had to stay withing the wires. We'd work with the three post half set until he had some speed and increase the number of poles until he could do all 12 and he had to beat me to the treat on the ground or I'd pick it up and we'd do a little heeling or sitting and I'd give him that treat and go back to the weave poles with a new treat at the end I'd send him and be a little pokey so that he got the treat and that was it for the session.

This worked for me--it worked for Nancy who actually ran the dogs in agility.

The very first of my dogs who ran agility wasn't trained that way and he was slow, slow, and the trainer started all the dogs in the first class doing only 6 pole weaves no wires and Colt was having a terrible time getting his act together for 12 pole weaves. That was about the time I got the two full sets with wires. I basically retrained him and the retraining went fast because he did have some clue about what he was doing at that point and in the process of retraining he finally "got" the idea that he had to do 6 pole weaves sometimes and 12 pole weaves at other times.

I don't know if this will help you and the Hairy boy but it sure worked for me and all the Dobes I trained on it. And either my dogs got smarter or I became a better trainer because each successive dog was faster and more accurate in the weaves.

Well, I know his real owner has some pictures including one from a match for 4-6 month puppies where he won the Working Group--just before I took him home to be a therapy dog for me. Maybe I can get her to send me that picture and I'll send it to one of the guys who seem to have the technique for putting pictures up--Kenny? AJ? Any volunteers ? Oooops--I think I meant TN--I can't remember who puts up good pictures. It's not a bathroom shower--maybe Modm too.

Finished season 1 today (Mrs. TN is not happy with me LOL), really good!) Hmmm, Succession may not show up in any other venues, HBO keeps a pretty tight lid on their shows.

Has anyone checked out the new Netflix show 'Messiah'? It's getting some great reviews so far and looks controversial and interesting.
