Beau's old
1955 Chev 210 - 2 door post, 6 cyl.
- was the proverbial "old ladies" car, found in local Ontario garage...5 miles from farm
- she was retired, from MI, USA and resided in our home town
- 15 year old kid, told be about it (he cut her grass) // but his Dad, said he wasn't buying it
- car was only visible, when garage door open, to get push mower out
Beau drove it, and put a new chrome bumper & grill on it...found parts local, cheap for $400
- eventually flipped this car to
Twin67, who did all the body work in fathers attached garage (on farm)
- car was also used in brothers wedding, after it was restored ...4 decades ago
Twins In-House Body Work:
The worst rust was in headlight front fender caps & back rear quarter (passenger side, on bottom).
- Harry did an amazing job, welding in the front fender patches...and finishing perfectly smooth
Harry trusted Larry, to replace the 1/4 die stamped patch panel...with his assistance.
... so I controlled the Oxy/Acet. torch with a small "0" brazing tip // while brother cooled weld, with compressed air
- this is before Mig welders were invented // Beau brazed in new sheet metal, with great care...braze was stitched welded, until fully welded
- and we full controlled any warpage, from rearing up / a joint & Team effort, we were most proud of
