I have no clue what order NoBite is going to post the pics, but there is a pic of my Dry Pond, Dominic and Princess Lily Belle. One pic of the neighbors DD's (well, at least 2 of the A-holes). The black Dane pup seems okay. I hope NB blows that pic up, so you can actually see their partial pack of dogs. But, if not, you can at least see I take pride in my property and the neighbors don't.

Spock,

Patience, Grasshopper!

...and believe it or not, I really wanted a Doberman and had been waiting for a long time and that was one of the reasons for coming home when we did.
I can hear you now laying the guilt trip on your poor little dobe when she's "accidentally" broken a house rule ....
"You terrible animal--I came ALL of the way home from KOREA just so I could have you, and now you do THIS to me!"

Poor baby...

Coffee...I like the way it smells when it's brewing, hate the taste. My ex used to grind his (carefully chosen) coffee beans fresh every morning and then use them in his french press. It still tasted like....coffee :tonguezzz:

So you guys asked for this, but a long time ago, so I daresay you've forgotten (and hoped I would too )....

New Tree, in all of its colored lights glory.

Which is smaller but still has the same number of ornaments and amount of tinsel, so it is a bit crowded. And I'm not sure whether I like colored or white lights better. It IS nice to have a change once in a while. Actually, I can change this one from colored to white lights, or flashing lights (fast or slow) or fading from dim to bright and then back again or even blinking off and on while changing from white to colored (which looks extremely tacky IMHO)

Anyway....

Forgot to answer your question Di -- You must have been watching Lester last night - as I too saw that video : )

I will try and keep it short and sweet here -- Most farms storage it set for corn - plus there are a lot more bus. to handle + drying it for storage . We are no different here - lots of beans go to town ( elevator ) - and put on storage - correct term is called DP = deferred pricing - the elevator charges so much a bu. per month for that - so the longer you wait to price - the more the DP charge = the less you get for your beans - it don't take long to rack up a good DP charge . I need to back track here - The reason to put your grain on DP - in simple terms - you think the price will go up . Example - 99.9 % on the time - the bean price will be the lowest at harvest - as there is a flood of all the new beans coming in - As that ends + exports the extra beans start to disappear and the price go's up to get farmer to sell on farm stored beans - Last year - I sold beans for 10.45 a bu. this year there around 8.80 - I have close to 20,000 on farm now - so you can do the math - that is a big hit in gross sells . Then there is corn - it has also took a big hit in price - local is 3.50 bu . last year I sold most in the 4 to 4.14 per bu range X on farm around 70,000 bu - again - you can do the math - then add the two together ! Beans and corn = what ? close to 80 grand ?

I just love living on the edge :grin2:
LOL

And, here I thought I was knowledgeable regarding farming just because I worked three harvests at a grain elevator!

I was very grateful when the silo came in! Much easier on the ears when collecting samples!

Aww!

The memories!

Sure wish I could have made a living wage at that job.

:grin2:

That job was a blast!

What dock what's to know is - where is the tree at Mel ? All I see is shinny stuff ? It could be fake ! and not really a tree at all - lol >:)>:)>:)
You've got a point...it is a bit overdone. But each year the kids and I have gone out and picked special ornaments, and there are ornaments that I made as gifts for my parents that I have re-inherited, and then the traditional stuff that has to be there every year..........
There was nothing to leave off.

And by the way, ECIN....one of the points of the whole thing is that the tree IS a fake. Plastic and metal and wires and lightbulbs....But the cat still climbs it like it is real.

There's nothing like having a paw come out and grab you as you hang an ornament, and eyes glowing from somewhere deep inside the tree can be a bit eerie.

I am pulling towards steady white lights. You've got enough color thrown in.

I think your tree is beautiful!

:x

And, coffee always smells better than it tastes.

I ended up getting hooked on the stuff when I worked at an airport car rental counter, on the overnight shift.

I think I mentioned before (a long time ago, when we first got Mocha) that my family had a Doberman when I was young and I always wanted to get one of my own as I got older but the time was never right. I knew they needed a decent size place with a yard to go out in, but 20 years in the military, overseas assignments, living in on-base housing or renting an apartment off-base, followed by living overseas for another 9 years after I retired...it was a long wait. As soon as we made plans to head back, I kept telling my wife that one of the first things I was going to do once we got home and got settled in was to look for a Doberman. I started lurking here and reading up on stuff for about 2 years, learning about SSA, health issues, what to look for in a breeder etc and well, the rest is history, although it did take us till 2014 to get Mocha. I honestly couldn't ask for a better dog. Yeah, she was a hellion when she was a puppy, but she was never destructive, took to the crate without a whimper, only had 2 or 3 accidents in the house during house breaking, and turned out to be the sweetest girl you could ask for so yeah, she was worth the wait :)

It's been since I joined this site that I have been on the lookout for my next Dobe.

You give me confidence to not rush it!

And, I want to rush it, really really bad.

Good guesses guys - its a 2003 Silverado LS (5.3L with 4WS & 4x4)...purchase price not set yet, so well see / it does have the Chev "cat eyes" headlight front end, I was searching for.
- be more photos if I get it (??)

==============================

https://www.motortrend.com/cars/gmc/jr/2002/2002-gmc-sierra-denali-2/
If you demand total steering compliance from a tow vehicle, along with stability and maneuverability from what's being towed, the GMC Sierra Denali with Quadrasteer is just the ticket. Developed jointly by GM and Delphi Automotive Systems, Quadrasteer (a rear-wheel-steering system for trucks) is a standard feature on the '02 Sierra Denali pickup and soon to be on other full-size GM products. By using various sensors around the vehicle, a microprocessor computes the correct rear-wheel position and actuates an electric motor to turn it accordingly.

Below 45 mph, the rear wheels can steer up to 12 (left or right). At these speeds, the rear wheels turn in the direction opposite the fronts. Above 40 mph, the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the fronts to significantly limit the pivoting a trailer feels at the hitch. Forty-five mph is a neutral zone, where the rear wheels maintain a fairly straight-ahead position even when the front wheels are turned. When in the 4WS Tow Mode (recommended for towing), the speed of the neutral zone is reduced by the microprocessor to 25 mph. Visually, rear-wheel turn appears modest, but the amount they do turn yields dramatic performance dividends.

------------------------------------------------------

There are less than 6000 vehicles on the road with Quadrasteer, mainly due to the cost of the option. Initially, the up-charge for a Quadrasteer truck hovered around the $7,000 mark.

It cuts the turning radius by 25%,

^^ Don't feel bad SP-4x4's photographic hobby memory, never makes for a fair contest.
- you got 1000's of vehicles, to remember in any given day...we know, we know

SP :dancing3: << Runner up / wearing her chicken fabric leggings...
STJ :no1: << Steady Eddie / when it comes to old cars & trucks...
I haven't got hauled in to HR, yet.

I just might have gotten away with showing co-workers my undies!

Time will tell!

LOL

TN - I think that all Dobermans are hellions when there puppies - some just a little more than others - Kadin was by far the most challenging pup we ever have had . And Mocha ? That was a wait well worth it ! She is so pretty ! :wink2::grin2:
