Whatddaya mean?

The night is young yet.

But I may not be...I might have to go to bed earlier than usual tonight. NAH.

Wish LSU good luck tomorrow. Call me a doubter, but I just have a hard time believing that they can beat Alabama in Alabama's home stadium.

But.....
Do you believe in miracles?? Yes!

Good morning everyone!

A little nippy this morning here in SC - 32 feels like 29 deg. High of 54. Next Wed is our coldest day with 43/25 deg!
I know nothing compared to the Frozen Tundra's of the north!

Today we will go to an arts and crafts festival - will have to take me a jacket.

To be fair, I have never tried bone soup. Plus I don't like people to bring food to me. I don't know if they wash their hands when preparing it or not.

Again, don't do food days at work. I've seen the women's restroom and also know who doesn't wash up before leaving. Plus, it would be rude to ask who cooked this dish?

I will pass.

Same boring question this Friday, like every other Friday. What am I cooking this weekend?

Working tomorrow. Get off at 4. Have to fuel Guz up before leaving the city.

Depending upon your suggestions for groceries, I will either get off the beaten path and hit my favorite grocery store that has everything or pass my house and drive to the little grocery store which is hit and miss on the products I am seeking.

I abhor getting off the beaten path or driving past my house when I am on my way home.

I am throwing a temper tantrum, I know, but this is me!

I am not sure what we are cooking this weekend either - but I know what we are cooking for Thanksgiving - no no not turkey

German goulash with spaetzle- Recipe....not sure this is what we use but what I quickly found on the internet

Ingredients for German Goulash Recipe:

3 tablespoons canola oil
2 onions, chopped
2 1/4 pounds lean, trimmed stewing beef, such as round eye, and/or pork tenderloin
1 1/2 tablespoons chopped garlic
1/2 tablespoon caraway seeds
3 tablespoons paprika
1 1/2 tablespoons Montreal steak seasoning
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne powder, or more for extra spice
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
3 large green bell peppers, cut into 1-inch pieces
3 large red bell peppers cut into 1-inch pieces
One 16-ounce can tomato puree
One 6-ounce can tomato paste
1 1/2 cups vegetable broth
Spaetzle, egg noodles or dumplings, for serving

I make the spaetzle ! Here is one recipe:

Ingredients
4 eggs
1/3 cup milk
2 teaspoons salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
4 Tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

But for this weekend - I like tacos!!!
Some nice spicy beef, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, lime crema, guac, - hmm homemade tortillas or be lazy and buy them?

As I was perusing YouTube - I came across the theme for Outlander. My wife had read the series and started watching the show....at first I wasn't interested. But watched a bit here and there. Finally had to start over and catch up

Outlander (Season 1) | Opening Title- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-GdjUbNmW4

Sing me a song of a lass that is gone,
Say, could that lass be I?
Merry of soul she sailed on a day
Over the sea to Skye.
Billow and breeze, islands and seas,
Mountains of rain and sun,
All that was good, all that was fair,
All that was me is gone.
Sing me a song of a lass that is gone,
Say, could that lass be I?
Merry of soul she sailed on a day
Over the sea to Skye
Singer of the theme song: Raya Yarbrough
Arranged by Bear McCreary

Scottish, Highlands, Kilts, Claymores/swords, Bagpipes!

The theme song is not the original words of The Skye Boat song

Here is a version of the original Skye Boat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBSqQPP4aVM

Speed, bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing,
Onward! the sailors cry;
Carry the lad that's born to be King
Over the sea to Skye.
Loud the winds howl, loud the waves roar,
Thunderclaps rend the air;
Baffled, our foes stand by the shore,
Follow they will not dare.
[Chorus]
Many's the lad fought on that day,
Well the claymore did wield,
When the night came, silently lay
Dead on Culloden field.
[Chorus]
Though the waves heave, soft will he sleep,
Ocean's a royal bed.
Rock'd in the deep Flora will keep
Watch by your weary head.

Good Morning All!

Good Night, Ma!

Ugh!

Got to get this work day over, then I will be back and have two whole days to harass you.

Thanks for the recipe, Moe/Brian.

Too many ingredients for me to take on at the moment today. I don't have pretty much all of them. The critters need food and that is going to put a big dent in my wallet. Why does everyone need food all at the same time? The cat has been eating dog food for the last two days.

Keep the recipes coming, though.

I am thinking Runza's. Hamburger, onion and cabbage wrapped in bread dough and baked. Mister will turn his nose up at them. Ewww! Cabbage?

Just did roast and then stew. Spaghetti was before that.

Mister says he's sick of chili. Besides, it's got green things in it.

It was easier when I was single.

Wish it was in my budget for a brisket. That is a two day job.

Well, here I am at "that" place.

Nothing like a couple of little street races on the way to work to get your blood flowing.

This story ought to bring STJ out of the woodwork.

So, I pulled up next to a Ram at a light. He challenged me. Whooped him. I think he was just showing off that first time. Next light, game on! He got me off the start, but whooped him again!

Guess 5.7 Hemi's aren't all they are cracked up to be! Either that or he was a big chicken!

I wish I had it! Nothing better than bone broth. I make it any time I have bones, either beef or chicken (but ew, I don't use feet!). I have some chicken bone broth in the fridge right now that I'm going to add veggies to for soup tonight, or add some roux to thicken it and ladle it over rice. Yeah, maybe that second thing.

I was just goin' to bed last night when you wrote that. Early to bed, early to rise, and all that. Did I ever tell you I used to be an astronomer? I never got paid but I volunteered time to drive the big 'scope up at Pine Mountain Observatory for a few summers, taking visitors on a "tour" of the cosmos. Rich did lectures and I ran the telescope. I never went to bed before midnight on a work night, or 3 or 4 am on a 'scope night, but then I got cows. And chickens. Now the only time I see stars is if I go outside in the early morning before the sun comes up. My big telescope is still packed carefully in a box out in the storage shed, where it has languished, unloved, for 15 years. I have a smaller, 4" 'scope that I used to take outside occasionally at night, but I haven't managed to stay up until it was full dark for many years now. I'm so different now than I used to be.

And you know what? There's a channel on TV (FETV) that shows old stuff, and Saturday mornings were always my favorite. Started out at 4:00 am with a couple episodes of Jeannie, followed by a couple episodes of Bewitched, then some Flying Nun, and then 4 episodes each of The Monkees and The Partridge Family. Today, however, I turned on the TV at 4 and it was already halfway through the Monkees episodes, then Partridge Family came on, but Jeannie, Bewitched, and the Flying Nun are all gone. After Partridge Family is something I never watched before called Tombstone, then Lone Ranger and a bunch of old westerns. My Saturday mornings are ruined! WAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!
