Thanks for Googling that for me!

The little A-hole was cute. But, no eat my chickens!

Mister told me he had a ten foot pole and I should have the problem solved by the time he gets back from town.

Noo.

I don't think so.

A blonde city girl named Amy marries a Colorado rancher. One morning, on his way out to check on the cows, the rancher says to Amy, "The insemination man is coming over to impregnate one of our cows, so I drove a nail into the 2x4 just above where the cow's stall is in the barn.

Please show him where the cow is when he gets here, OK?" The rancher leaves for the fields. After a while, the artificial insemination man arrives and knocks on the front door. “I came to inseminate the cow,” he said. Amy takes him down to the barn. They walk along the row of cows, and when Amy sees the nail, she tells him, "This is the one right here."

The man, assuming he is dealing with an airhead blonde, asks, "Tell me, lady, 'cause I'm dying to know. How would YOU know that this is the right cow to be bred?" "That's simple," she said. "By the nail that's over its stall," she explains very confidently.

Laughing rudely at her, the man says, "And what, pray tell, is the nail for?" The blonde turns to walk away and says sweetly over her shoulder, “I guess it’s to hang your pants on,” she replied.

Okay!

It's oxymoron.

Just so you know, Beau!

Oxymoron is one of my Dad's favorite words. He doesn't like dogs, so he always said there is no such thing as a good dog. That's an Oxymoron.

I really don't know how I came to be with him not liking dogs, cats, hamsters. Really, any animal that lives in the house.

In his defense he was raised on a farm and animals where simply work.

He actually grew up with plow horses.

And, then there was some distant story about hitting a stray horse on the road home one night.

Actually, AJ, I think her posts are slightly less incoherent when dozens of ellipses are used.

LaDi just wants us to plead her to resume use of her unique hyper-punctuation....

According to google's definition/spell check thingy...
"Apologise is the British English spelling of the verb apologize. So if you need to say you're sorry for something you did in London, you should "apologise."

Some people just think the way the English talk is the proper way (you ever notice how ads for fancy elitist products have a narrator with a snobby English accent?) The same with their spelling.

Though I've never learned whether it is "grey" or "gray" in America. So I alternate. I think the main place where the word grey was used in a way so I'd notice was Gandalf the Grey's name, so that's my go-to way to spell the word and then I'm not sure.

Just looked it up....grey is English, gray American. So all I need to do is remember to use the "a" because America starts with an a. That's how I live my life. They have Opossums in North and South America (north and south both have O's in them) and possums in Australia.

AND question for the day, does Canada use English or American spelling? B67, which do you...............oh wait..............maybe I should ask Kenny.

Nice.

Inside Hook had an article about a skit on SNL featuring "The Dog" (they used a stand-in to play his character.) The title was "Watch This Adorable Dog Derail an “SNL” Sketch"

The first paragraph said: "But when it comes to animals on screen, it can be difficult to resist the temptation: after all, who doesn’t love an adorable puppy or kitten? But a sketch on last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live helped illustrate just why four-legged co-stars can be tricky to work with." and went on to say, "The dog playing Conan seems entirely disinterested in being on stage from the outset. The dog repeatedly attempts to lick Strong’s face, and approximately halfway through the sketch determines that the podium on the set must be explored immediately."

So I watched the provided clip. I didn't see the dog do anything like the description. And like all skits on SNL recently, it wasn't particularly funny, but not because it was overtly political. It just wasn't funny.

A good butt sniff in there would have improved the skit immensely.

I only wanted to ask an expert on the matter of Canadian spelling and figured a real Canadian would be the person to ask. But under the circumstances.......

ECIN and B67, sorry to make you the butts of the joke.

So in propitiation (the action of propitiating or appeasing a god, spirit, or person), I'll add this:

Origin of the phrase "butt of the joke"

Butts were the archery targets erected permanently in or near a village or town for archery practice, required by law by Edward III in 1363 (also forbidding all sorts of other, more decadent pastimes such as football. See various archery reference books, including 'The Longbow' by Mike Loades, Osprey Publishing, 2013. A butt is therefore a target, so the butt of a joke is the target of a joke. The French word for 'target' or 'goal'(as in a purpose) is 'le but' (also la cible). probably from Old Nordic 'butr' - a log. Log ends were, and still are, used for target practice. The Normans would have used this term and introduced it to English. Probably. You can still find 'The Butts' or 'Butts Lane' or some such as addresses today.

You can choose whether you want to think of yourself as a god or a person (or both??). Spirit is reserved for LDi, because she's got lots of experience with spirits (the 100 proof kind).

And why are you being invisible here at the moment, Kenny? Practicing being a god??

Hey, just figured out why I can never spell the word "practicing" correctly (I always write "practising" until spell check flags it)

"The word is always spelled practice in American English. In British English, the noun form is also spelled practice. The word is spelled practise when used as a verb in British English."

I think I'm English.

Sitting on the couch, *trying* to watch the Titans game. Not sure if Mocha's trying to spare me the agony of watching another dismal performance by the Titans, if she's giving me some loving, or both.

She'll stand there with her face pressed into mine as long as I let her, the ninny...I do love this girl

She is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are her life, her love, her leader.
She will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of her heart. You owe it to her to be worthy of such devotion.

Posted on the Tech Help Desk about the database error message. I started getting it last night, along with the double posts it encourages.
