4th - I got to mow me some grass / and did you know, I like John Deere green?

67 BBQ season is done / the cold ambient air, sucks the heat out of burner box, too much.

Welcome Back Cotter - Yea, this thread at Page #94 already, in under 1/2 a year...is moving at record speed.
CUT IT OUT, cut it out. Cut. It. Out (Thread) was 6 years in the making, to get to Page #89.
- this thread is still a work in progress / and no body is always right or always wrong...to carry on the silliness

PS - my friend got Sleep Apnea, went to specialist and he only sleeps 1 hour per night.
- not a problem, 67 has ever had

Well - I guess that don't surprise me !

Ole buddy - I had to look on the map and see about where you lived - as in the cold air deal - Heck fire - your just a little North - I was thinking you were WAY up North - I can't believe you - well just hang it up - I would just throw on more wood - or add a say a inch gas line to feed the wood - lol

We have a natural gas grill and cook on it all 12 months here - Even though we have a lot colder winters here than you - it works pretty well until the winds get to 20 to 40 - blowing snow - then it gets harder to do lmao

My NXR grill is natural gas to, on my exterior brick garage wall.
- 67 don't enjoy standing outside in winter, to BBQ / the dogs don't like the cold either
- and son can't enjoy a good cigar, cold beer & shoot the breeze with Dad...when its cold out, on hands & butt

I decided when I got to work I felt like playing computer games.

It sucks that they make us burn gas to come into work for three hours on Sundays. I burned more fuel getting there than I made being there.

I just watched Cheaper By The Dozen movie, on TCM.
- "Cheaper By the Dozen", based on the real-life story of the Gilbreth family, follows them from Providence, Rhode Island to Montclair, New Jersey, and details the amusing anecdotes found in large families. Frank Gilbreth, Sr., was a pioneer in the field of motion study, and often used his family as guinea pigs (with amusing and sometimes embarrassing results). He resisted popular culture, railing against his daughters' desires for bobbed hair and cosmetics.

Funny think was, my carrier job was in Motion & Time Study, first 10 years...as an Industrial Engineer.
- even retired, I still have been asked about Bonus Plan Designs / on occasion
- help our son build one this spring...but he had some original concepts to employ...I was very impressed with his thoughtfulness & execution

Ken,

I don't think I ever told anyone that I worked two harvests at a grain elevator scale house!

Hated the corn coming through the probe thingy! Was happy to hear milo, when it came through.

It was long hours, but soooo much fun! The second season, they sent me to the flats. I ran the scale and the other chick manned the probe and told the truckers where to go!

The funnest jobs always pay the crappiest!

O'h the big wigs, they like to always pay themselves first...so true SP.

I once had a stupid President, that was threatened by my smarts...and he held back one of my annual bonus/raise, even after I saved the company $450,000 measured by 3 accounting measures.
- so I worked to rule, for 2 years / making puppies @ work
- grunted at President, even once when he had a dignitary from Japan with him
- Pres said, "hi Larry" with a big fat fake smile / I grunted HI back, never referred to his first name on purpose
- I screwed the dog for 2 years straight / and I got even
- after that, I always got my yearly raise & bonus
- I knew to much in a specific field, to be let go & disrespected the big wig till I was treated fair again
- Pres learned to not crap on this nice guy

^^ My son shared my "unique motivation story" at a Corporate BBQ the owner invited him to.
- he had everyone around the pool, laughing the ass'ss off
- owner told his staff, come Monday...NO grunting at the boss

After that! I got a permanent job at a truck stop repair shop. That was a fun job, as well!

That job didn't pay well, either.

So, here I am, in Oklahoma!

At least I've got car sales under my belt, to add to my resume.

LOL

I don't think I ever told anyone either / I shoveled grain in a grain bin, for hours straight...on the farm.
- once unloading a hopper in Grade8, my pant leg got caught in the auger
- I pulled my leg back, like a "live or die" moment
- and the auger spit out the bottom of my blue jeans
- my heart rate was off the map, I thanked my lucky stars for not loosing a leg (that summer)
- never made that mistake again

Random Topic - anyone else have some exciting accidents growing up, to share...lets hear them.

Beau,

My direct supe is a (really bad word, although, you could call me that and I would laugh) biotch.

The supes are doing as little as possible, because the lower level (9 others, besides me) are making more money than they are.

They are like flies on a cow patty! When my direct supe says she is leaving for the day, I clap! In good fun, of course! Everyone laughs, even the supe I'm directing the clap at!

I am positive she knows I mean it...

Had a very big summer! Moved from the country to the suburbs and Dean's been running me ragged!

OMG!?

From the country to the suburbs?

What?

That doesn't make sense to me.

Are you okay?
