SP, I'm pretty sure LDi was gonna swing by on her way north and pick the smoker up. Kind of the way most of us want to know the addresses of people with new dobe puppies...the temptation is always there.

YAY, John! Been thinking about you every time I use a smiley with my posts. Which means I've thought about you a lot. (big sh*t eating grin).

Here on the CT, not a lot of change.
Lannie has been entertaining us with stories of pioneer life out on the ranch, but the rest of us are pretty much just going around in circles like usual.

If you spent less time doing drive-by postings and spent more time reading, you'd know that LadyDi threatened to stop here in TN and "borrow" my smoker and on top of that, her and Scott would and I quote; "We will not be staying long........just quick enough to stink up your bathroom" so now you know not just all, but the rest of the sordid story. Much, much worse than meth heads! Meth heads I can deal with, we have more than our share here but a stinky bathroom? The horror!

In Canada,
Our Thanksgiving Monday is a National holiday...and Turkey dinner & Momma homemade pie...2 sleeps from now.

BabyBear & Dad headed down to Port Huron, MI Monday morning...for his Lexus winter tires & get some BBQ ribs for lunch.
- Dad easily saved son, over $1,000 + tax, avoiding the Dealership // on a 4 tire purchase
- 6 hour round trip, returns $200 per hour savings...a ROI, on Free time
https://simpletire.com/telstar-235-55r19-act86-tires

Today, Papa sourced Andrews basement flooring locally -10 mm thick PVC vinyl...100% waterproof.
- rare 20% off $ale, but Larry knew he was getting 30% off
- he did the quick "head math", and the Stores computer program was wrong...so saved $600 instead today
- https://www.homehardware.ca/en/24-sq...ring/p/2560086
- 1 hour local trip, yields $600 per hour savings...a ROI, on Free time

^^ ALL this is normal stuff, for brother & me // any buying or selling.
Twin67 & Larry coined it, "Schiestel Economics".

What kind of tires was your son buying where you can save $1,000 on 4 of them? That's a savings of $250 per tire and I just bought a set of tires for my wife's Explorer (some of the best out there and total cost was right around $1,100 price matched yada yada) and in my research I didn't see any tires which cost $500 each or more. Just curious

Once he read LaDi's plan (above) for impromptu visit, TN implemented military EMCON (Emissions Control) cloaking and went off the grid at his backwoods estate.

The ONLY way LaDi could possibly find him would be to call an ex. B/F, now working at CIA, to request a location track on TN's Escape, using the TPMS National Unified Tracking System (TPMS NUTS)....

It's actually pretty simple; all you have to do is wrap aluminum foil over your valve stems and your head, and you're good to go

Just curious
TN - our CDN Dollar is currently trading a $0.75x per USA green back...and Visa charges a 3.5 cents/dollar conversion fee
- plus we pay 2x the Income Tax, on Hydro, Cig & Booze, Property Tax, and Fuel, etc.
- all because we had too many Liberal years of Social spending and huge National Debt...Ontario @ 4x California Debt, on a per person basis
- so Andrew Lexus tires normally list for $C600 here, wholesale for $C450 and good used sell for $C200
- and USA price = $125.96 each new / switching to a different good brand
- on top of all this BS madness, everything is treated to a 13% HSTax
- we are very much like Australia, when it comes to unreal "cost of living" here
- even Amazon .ca Canada >> rapes us on price, vs Amazon . com USA

So on big purchases, my Twin brother and our family...often cross boarder shop.
- order ahead, to a Shipping Depot and drive across the Blue Water bridge, into Port Huron, MI.
- and for $3 each parcel pickup charge...we can save several hundred dollars Canadian...on a day trip

Case in point - brother needed AC pump, for his 2000 Sierra z71, 5.3L.
- GM of Canada, Dealership part was $C950 Cdn plus 13% Sales Tax = $1,074 Cdn
- eBay for same exact ACDelco GM part #, was $165 US$ = $229 Cdn
- so an $850 Savings, buying in the States and not buying Local

Here's a good comparsion of Lexus vs. Toyota models in US News & World Report:

https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/lexus-vs-toyota

Note Page 14 & 16 - Toyota wins on Mid Size & Large SUV models.

Pull Quote: " If your budget allows it, there are plenty of fantastic Lexus vehicles, but the reality is, many Toyota vehicles are as good as their Lexus counterparts. If you donít want to spend the extra coin, opting for a Toyota will be a wise choice."

This agrees with the Sat. auto show hosts who always recommend purchasing a topline Toyota to achieve near Lexus quality at less cost.

Personally, I think the hourglass grill designs on Lexus are el ugly, as does my DW and she usually never comments on car styling. Additionally, I think the new Lexus are over styled, resembling Transformer movie characters. Of course if you gave me one, I'd love to drive it, especially the turbo charged LS Luxury Sport model! It comes with wood trim for a little mas dinero $$$!

B67, here's the Rock Auto listing for that Sierra Model AC Compressor:

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ompressor,6628

You got a good price at $165 on eBay (reman?), as the new ACDelco units are running about $200+ at Rock Auto (my goto auto parts place)

Agree SD - exactly why Andrew & Dad negioated 13.3% off retail, on a brand new v6 2015 Lexus RX350 with Nav screen & mouse on center console.
- he got the last of the non-Jaws SUV design
- while the 2016 ugly models, coming off the cargo trailers...were an additional 7% higher on List price
- and 8 inches added in wheel base / so many won't fit in tiny garages now, re new house builds

Plus the 4 cyl. turbo - not interested, in spending several thousand $$, on a high mileage turbo rebuild.
- when Mrs67 gets son, Lexus in a few years time // and Andrew buys new again

NOW Larry finally has the best 3 used vehicles, I'm Happy with...for low cost and reliability // took me decades, to get to this point.
- Nancy drives a v6-269 HP Toyota 2008 RAV4 Limited AWD @ 124k miles
- Larry winter drives a mint 2000 4Runner SR5 4x4...only 90k miles
- Larry summer drives the 2003 Silverado LS, QS4x4, [email protected] 117k miles, on RubyRed
- Andrew has the 2015 Lexus RX350 AWD - 3.5L with 270HP // black with saddle tan leather

^^ ALL 4 vehicles combines, only 2 repairs ever / RAV4 had one broken coil spring & broken axle link, on rear...parts & labor totaled $400, with my contacts.

Is the 13% Canadian tax charged on Amazon and other online vendor orders?

Twin67 ordered the ACDelco pump brand new (not a reman.)... he is a hog of a Deal chaser, like Beau...we both do our homework, and research for big savings.
I taught him well !!
- and the transaction, was made a few years ago
- but still a fraction of the local GM Dealership ripoff price

Amazon Canada always adds 13% Goods & Services Tax...such a pretty term.
Amazon USA adds 6% Michigan Tax...only if vendor has a store, in this State
- Canadian Customs often waves us through...so we save the 13% tax and pay no Duty charge

I personally avoid RockAuto, at all costs...Larry can't navigate the site to find correct item & part #.
- I was Credit Card frauded 2x, in my life // one card in my name went to TX, and $14,500 was spent quick >>> You remember me now SD
- I got police involved re Identify Theft, and we dealt with Collections BS...for 2 years straight
- I finally screwed with them large and got a rep. fired // and started dragging the manager into it...Larry had acquired his private work #, so they finally gave up
- I only give out my Visa, over the phone
- and RockAuto has no reps to talk to and verify correct part #'s or not
- brother uses it, sometimes
