The moral of the story is; when you grill up one of those cowboy steaks, and you know your dog doesn't have the most stable digestive system in the world, DON'T let her eat the meat off of the bone. Yep, she got the runs. Bad. (I'm thinking she got some of the seasoning I put on the steak). We immediately switched to boiled chicken and rice, which stopped the runs but her stool remained very soft so as a precaution to make sure nothing else was going on, we went in this morning. They checked her out, and sent us home with some Rx food and some probiotics and said everything should be back to normal within 36 hours.

Mocha patiently waiting for Valerie, her favorite vet tech, to come say hi.

Now if we can get Mila to sit nice and calm like that!

Someone at work already spoiled it for me by telling me who on the show got fired in real life and dies in the series. Why would someone do that? How mean!

I didn't even have time to say, "DON'T tell me".

There are 2 vet techs at our vet that absolutely dote on Mocha and they are the only 2 we trusted to give Mocha her monthly allergy shots. And it seems the feeling is mutual because whenever Mocha hears their voices she goes into total alert mode until one of them comes in and gives her some loving (but she does favor Valerie over Tammie)

To be BFF's with SP, you'd better pick the first choice

To razz SP, just tell her you own one of these rigs to tow your "little" horsey trailer.....

(Don't tell her I coached you...)

I can read, ya know!

I would proudly drive that rig if someone gave it to me. Still gonna spend my money on GM, though.

Does Mocha still get allergy shots? Because I always gave Kip his--just a sub-cutaneous shot on the top of his shoulders. They'd make a vial of the stuff which I kept in the fridge and I'd use a syringe with a tiny needle. Saved me a little money.

Or would she never forgive you??

And no, I never wrote a book, although there's a passel of people who've been nagging me to write "Grannie Lannie's Farm Tails," my humorous stories of city folks who bought a farm. But the farm takes up too much time, so the book is in bits and pieces on another forum. I bet it would be a best-seller, though!

Please never attempt to make cheese! ROFL! (boils the curd, OMG...)

I would have popped the frozen filling out, no worries. I don't particularly like the canned apples in the pie, either, but they're so sweet/tart delicious, it didn't matter. When I have some spare time, I'm gonna make some puff pastry and do turnovers. Yum!

I haven't done ghee, but I know how. Actually, just today, Alton Brown (on a re-run of Good Eats) was saying that ghee will last at least 100 years in the fridge. I have friends who can pints and half-pints of it and then it's pantry-shelf stable forever and ever amen.

That made me laugh out loud, good and hard, thank you! What a great sense of humor that guy had! (and also thanks for the acronym explanation.)

I have to go rescue my husband off the roof now. He's up there pouring or painting roof patch stuff along the leaky seam. Please, everyone, cross your fingers that THIS stuff works. I'm so tired of inside rain...

And then I have a batch of yogurt to finish. My work is never done.
Dang!

I think your scraps of a book and LadyDi's video skills and, me having a date with Geek Squad tomorrow after work to install Word, would make a great team presenting something to send to the publishing companies. We just need an in house editor to perfect things. Let's do it! Di keeps promising she's going to win the lottery. She hasn't succeeded yet. What's wrong with giving it a shot?

Or I could go plant more Mexican petunia’s
Or I could go to the Roll’in Oats organic grocery store and buy some cheese and butter ....
Or I could take Hoss for a golf cart ride......go weigh him in at vet down the road...then stop by the park
Or I could train with Hoss at home with his boxes doing some nosework

Good morning All!

Seems I have a ton more practice on piano to go. Lately when I start to play, Mila starts doing the jump down with two paws and butt in the air and spin and makes a bit of sound. When I stop as I thought she wanted to play she walks out of the room....Started to play piano again few minutes ago and Mila did the same thing....Sheesh critics

Today is honey do lists, run errands etc... Maybe grill something out today. I was supposed to grill last night but didn't get home from work until a bit later than normal. Darn network switches!

Sounds like almost time to go - Have a good day everyone!

I think some expiration dates are like those warnings on TV medication ads....just avoiding lawsuits or something.
I think what he meant by "100 years" was that he's never seen any go bad, or knows of any that went bad. Just meant it will last a LONG, LONG TIME in the fridge. And yes, it seems that anything consumable has to have an expiration date on it, whether it needs it or not. I think most times they just pick a number out of the air.

Well, I have to do multi-quotes because I only get on here once or twice a day, and if I don't click on multi-quote, I'll forget what I was going to say. Sometimes I forget anyway, LOL!

Alton Brown! I am hooked on most anything Food Network type - I like the British Baking Show as well
Yes, I do make my own bread, it's so much better. Puff pastry's not hard, but man, it takes forEVER, and I simply haven't had time in the last several years. Mostly it was due to the intensive management (and constant monitoring) needed for Zipper. Now when I have spare time to do something fancy in the kitchen, I remember why, and get all sad again. I know it will pass, but dang, it's taking a long time.

Maybe the fact that Di's videos would be of dogs and kids and stuff, and my stories are about cows and chickens and broken fences and guineas stuck on the barn roof and stuff like that. I've sometimes wished, though, that I could find someone to go through all my old cow forum posts and paste them to Word documents, just so they're all in the same place and easier to sort through and put in a more fluid story form.

I quoted the wrong post, but this one still had the picture in it. I seriously haven't ever seen such a cute picture in my life! They're SO CUTE!!!!!!

On another note, I slept in until 5:00 this morning (it was cold in here and I was snuggled down into my warm blankie) and by the time I took my yogurt out of the "incubator" (the oven with the light turned on) it was tart. Eh, it's OK, but I prefer it sweeter rather than tart. I'm going to have to start making my yogurt in the morning, and then I can take it out after 6 or 8 hours instead of 12 or whatever it ends up being when I don't make it until the afternoon. As long as I don't need the oven for something else. Now I remember why I started doing it overnight.

You know what? I need two ovens! But first I need a bigger house that two ovens could fit in. Wish in one hand, and... well, you know the rest.

Or I could clean the carpet with my fancy ma-chine.
Or I could go outside and watch the sunrise .....sip coffee and let Hoss monitor the squirrels
Hummmmmm.....what to do......Scott’s off to the FORD dealer to get truck serviced for our road trip.

For starters, let Hoss monitor the squirrels- priority item on your honey-do list.

Perhaps a road trip to OK, to pickup SP, then on to S. Dakota for homemade cheese, bread, butter & yogurt training?
