Every once in a while I get in the mood for Celtic style music....here are a few I am listening to as I browse through DT

Relaxing music

Added lyrics even though these are instrumentals.

George Skarogiannis - Acoustic Guitar of Skellig - Loreena McKennitt https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIm3gD6bm38

O light the candle, John
The daylight has almost gone
The birds have sung their last
The bells call all to mass

Sit here by my side
For the night is very long
There's something I must tell
Before I pass along.....

One more Loreena McKennitt Dante's Prayer (Piano Cover)PacificPoem https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYso_Zae9OU
When the dark wood fell before me
And all the paths were overgrown
When the priests of pride say there is no other way
I tilled the sorrows of stone

I did not believe because I could not see
Though you came to me in the night
When the dawn seemed forever lost
You showed me your love in the light of the stars....

And last one another guitar -Celtic Guitar Duet by Steve Baughman and Robin Bullock https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9bm4W_0rxQ

No lyrics...

Yeah.. The Rockies. It sits on its own mountain. The town and lodge are well above 7000'. Probably more like 7500' It is in the middle of the Gallatin River Canyon. Across the river is Yellowstone National Park. On the other side are rising mountains. Climb a trail to 10,000' and the vistas are incredible.

Very accessible for such a spectacular location. It sit's halfway between Bozeman and West Yellowstone, both of which have airports.

In late spring or very early summer, one may encounter:

Moose
Elk
Bison
Wolves
Coyotes
Deer
A variety of raptors, including Bald Eagles.
Bears, both Black and Grizzly.

The Gallatin is considered to be one of the premier trout streams in the US.

My favorite time to visit the area is before or after tourist season. May/early June or mid to late September.

It is all weather dependent.

STJ!

Hot Rod Lincoln - Commander Cody (Studio) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3R7l7nDuj1o

My pappy said "Son, you're gonna drive me to drinkin',
If you don't stop drivin' that Hot Rod Lincoln. "

Have you heard the story of the hot rod race,
Where the Fords 'n' Lincolns were settin' the pace?
That story is true, I'm here to say,

Aye - My understanding is depending on the type of pick (material/thickness/attack angle or natural finger nails ) - different sounds can be had....

I really want to take my wife to Yellowstone but, and this is a huge but, as I've stated before, I have an acute fear of heights and I've been told different things. Some people say that if we stay in Jackson Hole and drive in from there, no heights are involved, period, unless we decide to go up into the mountains. Others have told me that there's no way to avoid heights in Yellowstone, just driving from one part to another involves heights so that's where I'm at. I've found that those who aren't afraid of heights don't really think about it, so when they're driving up some switchback, and there's a safety guard rail, they don't think it's a height thing, they're thinking more about standing on top of a cliff and looking down but for me, it's everything...high overpasses, high bridges, having to drive up a mountain, flying (thank God for Ambien & Xanax LOL).

Apparently, non-pick enthusiasts swear you can't play classical/nylon strings with finger picks? They say you need some finger pad contact with the string to have it sound right.

I dunno. My ear is just not good enough to pick up on that sort of thing really. I mean, if I hear them both right after each other, I can say, yeah, they're different....but to say which sounds better and why?? Fugedaboudit...

Mannnn--Our Kenny has a mind like a steel trap--I can't believe he still remembers that story about Ray...(I can barely remember it--and it's my story!).

And my Toadikins is still with us--his respiration which is really OK (except he sounds like an old Lab--he's got the same thing they often have--laryngeal paralysis. Makes him make funny sounds breathing--squeaks sometimes and scares the pants off of people who hear him and don't realize that he's fully checked out by bunches of vets who say it sounds worse than it really is. And not only do I have the nearly 14 year old Toad but about 5 days a week I have the other half of the geriatric duo--a 12-1/2 year old bitch MACH Jersey she likes it here--can't hardly wait for Ken (different Ken--thi is Portland Ken) to let her out of the car so she can come in check out Toad, Leon and Clark.

I wish all tis crap with my sciatic nerve (that's one of the variations of spelling Mel was talking about--the Ken version si-cod-ick--it's what led him to believe it was all in my head) was all in my head.

And for all of you guys living in the hot zones--the left hand Portland's high in the last week was 74. It's been raining 3 days on and one day off for a couple of weeks now. And what's it doing today? RAINING of course!

I'm almost caught up on the CT and have earned a nap for my efforts...so ta ta all--I'm going to call the cats to come cuddle with me--Toad as his own big soft bed and the Joisey goil is stuck with her bed in the kitchen because some of her controls aren't so good these days.

Starting October 6th I will be in absentia for about a month. No communication. Back in alcohol rebab. Again. My onus. Ah me...

My choice. 5th time in 40 years.

Wish me luck! Or loan me the 40k it will cost me. (Medicare sucks).

Hopeful...
