I have no clue what order NoBite is going to post the pics, but there is a pic of my Dry Pond, Dominic and Princess Lily Belle. One pic of the neighbors DD's (well, at least 2 of the A-holes). The black Dane pup seems okay. I hope NB blows that pic up, so you can actually see their partial pack of dogs. But, if not, you can at least see I take pride in my property and the neighbors don't.

Spock,

Patience, Grasshopper!

LOL

He's too heavy to win!

Don't jack with me!

Are we talking about the same horse?

I am going with the horse with the double colored tail.

That's the best I can do, having not kept up with the race horses. I am trying to catch up with the names of the horses. I had a second choice but haven't figured which one it was.

:nerd:

Port Huron, MI. trip (5 hours).
- we picked up sons Lexus P235/55r-19" all season tires today
- 65,000 mile tread rating, and 105v load & speed rated...a good choice

Parking at the Rib restaurant, on the down town main street.

A couple doors down, browsed the vintage record/CD shop.

And a full rack of Baby Back Ribs - was fall of the bone good, but missing the proper BBQ sauces....so a little disappointing, not like the out of business Damons hot spot (TV sports bar).
- we tried an Accountant & Boarder Guards RIB recommendation
- next time, will pick the Rib place, Dad researched on Google & FB

I'm watching baseball tonight - but here it is...

In a shocking turn of events,
Country House has won the Kentucky Derby after Maximum Security was disqualified.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Maximum Security became the first winner disqualified for interference in the Kentucky Derby, leading to an agonizing wait and an eventual stunning reversal that made 65-1 shot Country House the winner Saturday.

Country House finished second in the slop before an objection was raised, causing a lengthy delay while stewards repeatedly reviewed several angles of video footage before he was elevated into the winner’s circle.

That gave Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott his first Derby victory at age 65.

"It’s bittersweet. You always want to win with a clean trip and have everybody recognize the horse as the very good horse and great athlete that he is," Mott said. "Due to the disqualification, I think some of that is diminished."

Jockey Flavien Prat, who originated the claim of foul, also won his first Derby.

"I’m kind of speechless right now," Prat said, letting out a long sigh.

Country House paid $132.40 to win — the second-highest payout in the Derby’s 145-year history.

"Looking at the tote board there’s probably a lot of people that didn’t think we could win," Mott said, "but that’s horse racing."................................

I've gotten so I can't watch horse races anymore...you just never know when a horse will break down. That match race between Ruffian and Foolish Pleasure way back when was so heart-breaking to me. I kept watching the big races, but eventually, I just couldn't anymore. Though I did watch last year when Justify was running, it's just not as much fun as it used to be.

Believe it or not, Ma!

I remember that! I had a horse scrap book and Ruffian was in it!

There have been other fatalities since then.

They race the horses too young, here. England has the best track record when it comes to horse racing. They have longer careers than the American horses. Americans get the mighty dollar out of the horses and they break down faster. That's my opinion and I am sticking to it.

Regarding the horse race......funny how life can humble us so quickly at time......they were interviewing the initial winner...and they were laughing about how he had no mud on his face. Advantage of being the front runner............then this happens......I must say though......I admire the jockey for owning it from the beginning......he admitted it ...horse spooked when he came around and heard the crowds.......he got him back into position as quickly as he could ....BUT..........thats the way it goes............I suspect as a horse owner ....a win is a win when that much money is on the table.
I think horses are so beautiful.......I wish we could see more pictures of Stryker sometime.

I'm not buying the Spooked part Di - Those horses are very professional = not there first race - I think that the jockey heard or seen that the other horse had a run on him - he could see the finish line - so let him drift out some to hold back the horses - he just got caught - The biggest race of the year - why not ?
I don't know....thoroughbreds are so spooky and high strung. I can easily see it happening.

There's a great show on Netflix called "7 Days Out". It has a few episodes, and each details the 7 days prior to a big event. One episode is Westminster, and one is the Kentucky Derby. Both are very worth watching, IMO.

Oh, and there's a great series called "Jockeys" that was on Animal Planet. It used to be free to watch on Prime, but I'm not sure it is free anymore. You might be able to watch it if you have cable. I really enjoyed it.

I hope that MIA had a great time there - she had a long flight to get there -

MC - You mowed your grass yet ? I have to mow again today - think it will be the 5th time + weed eat - lol

Thanks for there info - will check it out :grin2:
No mowing yet.

Would you like to get some practice in ? I have a nice zero turn - it can cut good at 13 mph - but it's hard on your back sometimes
Mowing is possibly my least favorite chore ever...I'm pondering hiring someone this year. No matter when I mow it's likely to give me a migraine, but my husband is highly allergic to cut grass, so...yeah. It's not fun.

Stryker isn't so pretty anymore. He's getting old and it's hard to keep the weight on him. We will see how good he looks during summer and then I am contemplating making a decision regarding whether I want to put him through another winter or not.

Horses are very beautiful. Been in love with them since forever. They are expensive critters, though. Cheapest part about a horse is the initial purchase.
