Good morning , dang it has been hot here and NO rain ! Better today then back up to the 90s all next week , dew points back up in the 70s

TN , did i see you all set a new high temp record yesterday ? 99 ? Was it in Nashville . We hit over 100 with heat index . Boy we need rain , will probably come when we start harvest , just what we donít need . Still a month away .

We had some drizzle here late evening here. Not a lot. We have been low to mid 90s with a few higher 90s. Today is 88 for a high. In about 3 weeks looks like averages with go into the low 80s...Can't wait for that!

Right now it is 72 deg and 99% humidity Dew point 71

We've gone close to a month with not a drop of rain now, and near record temps in the mid to upper 90s with no relief in sight. A few days ago the 10 day forecast had upper 70s starting the 23rd, that of course, has changed now to mid to upper 80s.

Almost time for our morning hike, hoping to beat the heat and the weekend crowds.

Thanks LaDi, enjoyed the video, but I think a better name for your film company would be "Cuz Over-Productions"

You should quit your day job and hire on with the TV networks to produce hyped-up promos for new or underrated shows.
You have a talent for making the mundane (appear) magnificent!

(Sure you weren't in used, ehhh...preowned, car sales, like SP, in a previous career?)

LadyDi, I do enjoy your videos, keep them coming

Well, I guess we're batting .500 this morning...we beat the crowds but not the heat. 72 and steamy when we left the house but, we did have the park mostly to ourselves so there's that. Except for a few early walkers and one guy who was ignoring the leash laws...Mocha and I were going down the trail and suddenly this white mutt appeared around a corner, with the owner about 25 yards behind the dog. I stopped and yelled "leash!", luckily his dog was as surprised to see us as we were it, and it stopped mid-step and watched us until its owner caught up to it and leashed it. "nice dog" he said, looking at Mocha as they passed. "Idiot", I thought to myself.

I never realized what a hard language English is to learn for foreigners (and, it appears, for many Americans LOL) until I married my wife. The above are some good examples; words that are spelled similar but sound very different. On the other hand, the words that are spelled different yet sound the same like plain and plane, main and mane etc. And let's not even get into the silent vowels or consonants like the a in logically, or the silent p in psychology. With the Korean language, words are always pronounced the way they're written. For example, ㄱ= k,ㅣ= i (like in "sing"), ㄷ= d, so 긷 would be pronounced kid. LOL, when we first got back to the states, we were in some store and the cashier was setting us up for a rewards card and asked me for my address. I told her winding bluff way and she asked me how to spell winding. I thought I didn't hear correctly so I said excuse me? Winding, she said, how do you spell that?

Really? No real internet?

I gave up TV channels just so I could have cheap internet.

Come on, Auntie. Spill the beans!

Geeze Denny--where've you been? Under a rock? Everyone knows that I'm dial up and that I'm the ultimate Luddite--I'm both too cheap and generally can't afford it. I have dogs and cats instead and keep working part time to cover their vet bills and food.

I don't know if HughNet is even available around here--someone suggested it years ago but it wasn't an option here, at that time.

I gave up TV channels years ago after having some of the worst cable service ever I two different PNW cities. I gave up buying books and starting patronizing the local libraries instead in order to pay for basic ISP service.

What I have is "real" internet it's just slower than (insert your own term here) what I don't want to pay for is fast internet--I'm waiting for the US to catch up with most of Europe and provide free fast internet.

In the meanwhile...

This cracked me up Mel--and it reminded me of a book I read long, long ago--a fairly humorous biography of a woman married to a man whose native language wasn't English...she was explaining that the vagaries of English caused her husband to "cuff' a lot when he was recovering from a cold and because of his negligent wife the "coughs of his dress shirt were often frayed.

This may be a bit different post - so if not ok let me know

With there being roosters and chickens here - I recalled, I made a poor attempt at drawing one a few years ago!

Poor thing looks like a chicken hawk tried to get it

Along with trying to learn music, I have tried to paint and draw over the years.
Not good but as mentioned it gives me more appreciation for those who are! And my attempt to use my other half of my brain
Couple more -
Simple Cherry:

Oil Painting (Bob Ross style for those who remember him) - First one had some help from instructor...

Then you can go see a nice Doberman drawing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAMFbjcYXVM

And of course some Hyperrealism - Almost photo like. My wife is not a big fan of this type but I like it as it takes a ton of time and skill.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XyuIn0B8BM is just one example...believe it took him a few months to finish.

One day would like to be able to draw my DobersÖ.but guess that would require me to well draw!

Huh Mel?--isn't that right...

TN , did i see you all set a new high temp record yesterday ? 99 ? Was it in Nashville . We hit over 100 with heat index . Boy we need rain , will probably come when we start harvest , just what we donít need . Still a month away .
Portland's summer/fall continues to be a weird as Portland tries to be--rained again last night--that's three in a row (highly unusual for September) and the prediction is for temperatures in the 70's for the next week with possibility for rain practically every day.

I'll take it--even though the fuchsias love it the tomatoes don't so much--they want it to be in the 80's.
