There is the perfect example of double posting, Brian!

Edited to add
Oops....I got rid of the duplicate post before I read this post. Sorry Brian. You'll just have to imagine what SP's post looked like the second time around. The same.

If I remember correctly, I think the discussion was about whether you were an angle or not. We couldn't decide whether you were acute or obtuse though.

Pay special attention to #5 in the first section ("Showing enthusiasm about your work").

5. Respect the teacher’s authority on a subject.
Teachers have been through a lot of education and they have chosen a profession where they get to share their knowledge. You may know a lot about a subject as well, but teachers will appreciate if you treat them as the experts they are.

Occasionally it’s okay to correct your teacher. After all, everyone makes mistakes sometimes.

Many teachers are wary of “know-it-all” students. Not only will acting like a know-it-all jeopardize your relationship with your teacher, it may also annoy your classmates. No one wants a smarty-pants as a friend.
MA - What real Teach, gives out Chicken Hawk homework?...at 1:00 in the morning.

I am watching Master Chef. One of the few clear channels I get in this particular room.

Any ideas of a cheap TV reception fix for each TV, which all get different channels than each other? My property is just under the rim of a bowl and rooftop reception is only connected to one TV.
David is currently living in South Carolina - but has lived in Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, NY, Ohio, and Pa - I have now been in SC the longest - 4 years when I was in the navy and now 11 years current.

Moe (Moses Harry Horwitz) is from NY - one of the stooges....and as I was looking for that, I had learned I was living under a rock at some point as well. Did not know that Moe, Curly, and Shemp were brothers in rl.

Brian - not to sure!

Master Chef is something I have not watched yet - not sure why as I like most Food Channel type shows from Bobby Flay to Chopped...

I bet you've heard their names--Itzhack Perlman (violin) and Yo Yo Ma (cello).

Sounds like you and I may have been in the same boat when it comes to classical guitar. My X was pretty good--to the tune of having lots of guitars (because each one sounds a little different ee ) and also about 3 handmade especially for him.

I tried...but between having fragile flimsy fingernails (you need them--not super long, but they are definitely important in making a good sound) and the X who was kinda half-teaching me and very good at "Well...that sounded...okay...I guess", as well as critiquing my technique like I wasn't a beginner, I didn't stick with it.

I had tried to play guitar of any form for many years - mostly, I think I didn't truly put in enough practice since I do not have a natural affinity for it. Finally about 2 years ago I tried with classical guitar - bought a cheap Yamaha. But I had to drive 45mins to the class so dropped it. Thus my try with piano now.

My fingernails are not the best either. Think only had one begin to break though.

Not sure that is the best way to teach someone

But I really do like the sound of classical guitar with classical pieces and even modern songs played on classical guitar.

Sorry for so many songs at once

One thing I have learned and not only with music - is if I try it and see what is involved, it gives me so much more appreciation for those who have taken it to the next level. How much work they put into it. Just like reading and seeing some of the amazing work done here with Dobers…
