No garlic or onions please............ and thank you.
Dill and parsley? I usually use dill and onion and butter but not garlic--too strong a flavor (I think) for using with salmon--I want the salmon flavor to be predominant.

I want to know what you end up using though...

LDi - dill juice, is good on fish.
20 years ago - Beau dinned with co-workers, outside Gaffney, SC.
- I ordered catfish...a Top10 plate, in Larry's life
- skillet cast iron, pan fried

a) browned in red wine / brown sugar / and sliced almonds, on the skin
- years later, had Rainbow Trout, cooked the same way
- out of this world delicious ....I would think, this recipe would also work on Salmon

Our local driver's ed school was set up by a man whose teen-age daughter had been killed in a car accident.

It was quite professional--the instructors were college-aged and could connect with the kids quite well, I thought, and the class, in addition to the usual lectures and on-street driving, had a course (set up differently each day) with all kinds of narrow twisty turns, parallel parking, sudden light changes and pedestrians (fake) who would pop out at you suddenly. On the last day, the kid took his parent around the course alone to show what he had learned.

We waited our turn as we watched each student maneuver the course at a careful, slow, safe pace--a lot of them hit a traffic cone or two, but they all acquitted themselves well, I thought. When our turn came, my son took me around at full race-car (I probably exaggerate--slightly--here) speed, and I had to hang on the grab bar** above the window as he swerved around each obstacle and skidded his way around the curves.

When we were done, the business owner came over to the driver's side window, leaned his head in, raised an eye-brow and said, "Well, what did you think?" All I could do was kinda nod my head (a bit weakly). Oddly enough, my son doesn't really like to drive much, and manages to get me behind the steering wheel if we go somewhere together.

**I looked up the name of that bar on Quora. Suggested names were "the Chicken Handle", the "Mom Over-exaggerating Bar", the "Jesus! Handle", or the "Oh **** Bar" (the "Oh Sh*t Bar"---DT starred the full version of that word out; I didn't). Yup.

Sounds like a busy day Ken--just thought I'd pass along the PNW weaither--after an early summer that was waay too hot for me (and Toad) we've settled into a cooler early fall slump (thank heavens) rained, showered and drizzled most of yesterday and last night--was raining when I sent the geriatric pair (Toad and Jersey) out this morning and is supposed to stay coolish and raining for the next couple of days..70's are OK by me...

Gotta' go talk to our vets this morning too--Toad finally discovered the skin tag on his chest and tried to do a little selfie surgey Friday night--that was messy.

Later group!

Sorry I was late with that driver's ed story--DT wiped it out twice on me (the second time at least I had it copied). I'm not sure it was worth the telling, but after all that writing, I sure as h3ll was going to post it.

Are those all of those things that kids never get quite right--like getting up early ON THEIR OWN for the chores before school, weeding the veggie garden PROPERLY, mucking out (key words, MUCKING OUT) the barn, etc??

Salmon on the barby is my fav way to cook it. Brushed with butter.

And catfish must be just caught, absolutely fresh, deep fried with seasoned corn-meal coating...take it from a former Louisianan.

I like it with ketchup spiced up with hot sauce (Crystal) and lemon juice.

And an ice-cold beer.

THIS!!!

One of my favorites, with the catfish still sizzling hot from the grease...I've always used plain hot sauce, but the ketchup/hot sauce mixture sounds really good too.
When I was a wee lad, one of my neighbors used to take me and my best friend fishing, and we'd go camping and catch catfish all night...then bring them home the next day, clean them, and his wife would fry them up for us. Nothing like fresh catfish
There are a few restaurants here in town that have fried catfish which is very good but fresh is best!

Yeah, the hot sauce and lemon juice take away some of the sweet tomatoey part of ketchup's taste but really works well (IMO) for fairly strongly flavored seafood. It's my favorite dip for shrimp boiled in Zatarain's Crab Boil too (I don't like most of their other seasoning/ prepared mixes--I prefer to season my own jambalaya, for example--but Z. crab boil [plus some other stuff] is a must.)

Might be some good Tips here, for someone....

How Car Dealerships Rip You Off (The Truth)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gtmij_uNuE

In this video I explain exactly how car dealerships rip you off. A lot of car dealerships implement the four square method, which is just a simple way to make you think that you're getting a deal.

Car dealerships are a very sophisticated network of stores that know how to separate you from your money. Not all dealerships rip you off, but the ones that use the four square method do.

Don't get ripped off on your next car purchase and watch this video until the end.

4 SQUARE - Dealer$hip Method
- Price << out the door price, is the only quadrant to Focus on
[went with the 3.9% Lexus financing // beats the banks & credit unions, car loans]
- Trade In << Part to Skip, sell used auto privately...for $5,000 more
- Down Payment << not necessary, with a good credit rating
- Monthly Payment (60-72-84 months) << anything a 4 year term, is buying beyond ones means

None of the dealerships I dealt with used the 4 square method....they used the all-the-numbers-mixed-up-in-a-single-column-so-I-couldn't-tell-what-was-going-on method. Equally effective.

Marko, I agree with everything you say here- I spent a year at a dealership and saw this too. However, I studied Advertising in my business degree and learned this process is all about EMOTION. If you go to buy a car and you are emotionally invested, all these tricks from the dealer will work on you. My #1 rule in buying cars is to be ready to WALK no matter what they do. EMOTIONS= EASY SALE

===========================

Chief negotiators PapaBear & BabyBear took only 1.5 hours, to buy his Lexus RX350 3.5 years ago // Dad played bad cop & son played good cop (for the most part), while our energy fueled each other, for a NET Discount of 13.3% MRSP (on a brand new SUV).
- going into the buy, Dad even hand picked the young salesman out
- and threw the 4 SQ Method, out the window // controlling the whole process
- Larry was on a natural rush, for 48 hours straight...making it a Fun & Buyer Controlled process, start to finish
