Geesh! You could have gotten a Yukon. Much sweeter ride for a Dobie!

Safer for said Dobie, too!

And! You all can sack out in it on a road trip.

My Dad had a 55 Chevy, red and white, when he was young. I only saw a black and white photo of it. It was sweet! Wish I had the means to get a hold of one of those. My very first car was a 69 Buick Skylark. It kicked a$$ with a stock engine.

LOL LDi - tail feathers, very much over-rated.

Beau like to see the best, in most people...and Help others, when I can.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

My cousin just called and asked if I would loan her $300.00 to help her pay her rent. Those who know me, know that I'm always willing to help out friends and family. I told her to give me some time to think about it and I would call her back.

Before I called her back, my aunt called and told me that my cousin was lying and not to give her the money. She goes on to say that the real reason my cousin wanted the $300.00 was to get her boyfriend out of jail so she could be under the same roof as him for his birthday. I thought about it for a minute and decided to give her the $300.00 because we all need help at times.

So, I called my cousin and told her to come and get the money. A couple of hours later, I get a call from the bexar County jail. It was my cousin crying, screaming and asking why I gave her counterfeit money.
My response...so you and your boyfriend could be under the same roof for his birthday!

This is definitely not my cousin, they all know I am broke.

I just finished reading one of those books you wish would never end; The Art Of Racing In The Rain. I think I'll pass on the movie, there's no way they can even come close to the book.

That's probably the closest I've heard anyone get to playing one of Gilmour's solos. Not bad at all.

Thinking on your feet, military style:

An Army Colonel and his driver (a Corporal) were en route to a location where the Colonel was to give a briefing. The Corporal said that he had seen the briefing so many times he could give it himself. The Colonel said that they should just exchange shirts and the Corporal could give the briefing. The Corporal delivered the briefing flawlessly, but when he got to the question and answer phase a Second Lieutenant jumped to his feet and asked a very complicated question. The Corporal then said, “Lieutenant, that is the dumbest question I have ever heard. It is so dumb I am going to have my driver answer it.”

OK...

I would love to see DG cover this original Mike M guitar composition (Yellow Ledbetter) which segues to Jimi H's Little Wing and back. (13 years ago ). Phenomenal.

As good as Gilmour is, I think that this would be out of his wheel house.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLRZzcf3O3k

STJ!

Edit to say... Eddie is so effing drunk that the security guards have to hold him up and then help him back on the stage. He says: "Oh... That was nice"! LOL

Look at the end of the video. EV... A cigarette in one hand and a bottle of red wine in the other.

Seattle Gunge to the end!

Before my brother and I decided between the already decked out Camaro and the 55 bel air - we bought a model of the 55 and put it together and began painting it different colors. I think we either ended up with blue and white or all blue....but do not recall how it turned out.

And do not recall why a 18 and a 16 year old chose the 55

Oh our very first car I forgot was a sky blue 67 ( I think) vw bug with a stick shift went every where in it.

I think they paid $6,000 or so, for it.

It got handed down to me and then to my brother.

That car was awesome! Kicked A$$ to the very end. So, you see? The only time I was in the back seat was when we, the family, were on a road trip. What the hell is a back seat? By the time I got a hold of the steering wheel, I was taking names and kicking A$$es, racing around in it!

I think mike McCready does a pretty good job of paying tribute to David Gilmour.

IMO, McCready is one of the best live touring guitarists today. His own compositions are incredible and his covers are fabulous.

I have tried many times to play guitar - It gives me appreciation for those who can play. The amount of time it takes to become that good.

There are so many great guitarists from Chet Atkins/Jerry Reed/Roy Clark to Hendrix/SRV to Gilmour/Page/Clapton to so many more....then jump into classical/jazz guitarists...amazing.

Now as I try to learn piano there are similar number of great pianist.
In my early going I listened to a lot of classical pianist and I always come back to Glenn Gould (edit oh yeah Glenn was Canadian as well ). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gv94...&start_radio=1

Then for a jazz pianist I like Bill Evans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNnY...&start_radio=1

But since Beaumont67 is from Canada - how about:

Gordon Lightfoot Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFkyDB2InTs Probably not a top 10 but like to listen to it on occasion.

Do I need to go to Barnes and Noble for that book at lunch tomorrow?

How did you know it was payday, tomorrow?

Piano - I do like Keiko Matsui, have several of her CDs and they make excellent road trip music

If you've never heard of it, it's about a dog, and for the most part, told from the dog's perspective.

A short blurb from Wikipedia

@ modm

GL's The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is awesome!

I grew up in Detroit and spent a lot of time in Northern Michigan. Lake Superior is baddass. Makes the Atlantic ocean seem like a wading pond. LOL
