Enjoyed your Helo videos, Ken, that's takes some skill to be able to land on that small pad atop the truck, over and over again...
I worry about ol' Dexter, the pumpman on the truck, loosing his ball cap in the rotor wash and it being sucked into the turbine intake! I suppose for this type of low level operation, the chopper might be fitted special intake screens?

I have some Helo ops experience. Back in 2005-10 I was deployed on a USNS Prepositioning ship in Far East carrying US Marine Military equipment & ammo. Ship also had Helo Vertrep capability. Being Chief Mate at the time, I was HCO (Helo Control Officer) and in charge of the helo flight deck & crew. We were paranoid about FOD (Foreign Object Debris) on our helo flight deck before operations. (a few pics)

Great pictures SD! I have never noticed any extra screen on intake , but then again , I wasnít looking for it , one thing I learned the other day , is that they had been spraying for a neighbor south of us a few miles , went by there one morning and it was parked in there barn lot , the neighbor told me the first thing they did that morning was high pressure clean the rotor blades , to remove bugs on them , they will disrupt the air flow across the blades and it donít want to lift up off the truck , which Iím guessing is a bad thing .

Thanks again Chief

So cool, SD.

Do you miss those days?? Or glad you're spending most of your time on dry (or non-navy, at least) land these days??

I'll see if I can get ahold of arkadey with my special mod powers If only to tell him his picture will be on our next calendar.

But, ummm.....Milk Dude works; I mean a milk dude wouldn't produce milk for sure. But I'm wondering if it's not a milk dud in the original

O'h MEL - now I laughing here (large).
I spelled "Dude & Dud" to Mrs67...and she pronounced, what I now would expect.
- I guess, I poo-poo'ed / or did I mean boo-boo'ed
- now that's a funny

Beau Taste TIP
- 1 Macaroon (chocolate/coconut mix dud) is best with
- 1 salted Cashew

^^ Insane flavor, till the chocolate & Planter Nuts are all consumed.
- better than Milk Duds

Good evening Ch's...little more humor

Two sisters, one blonde and one brunette, inherit the family ranch. Unfortunately, after just a few years, they are in financial trouble. In order to keep the bank from repossessing the ranch, they need to purchase a bull so that they can breed their own stock.

The brunette balances their checkbook, then takes their last $600 dollars out west to another ranch where a man has a prize bull for sale.

Upon leaving, she tells her sister, "When I get there, if I decide to buy the bull, I'll contact you to drive out after me and haul it home."

The brunette arrives at the man's ranch, inspects the bull, and decides she does want to buy it. The man tells her that he can sell it for $599, no less. After paying him, she drives to the nearest town to send her sister a telegram to tell her the news.

She walks into the telegraph office, and says, "I want to send a telegram to my sister telling her that I've bought a bull for our ranch. I need her to hitch the trailer to our pickup truck and drive out here so we can haul it home."

The telegraph operator explains that he'll be glad to help her, then adds, "It's just 99 cents a word."

Well, after paying for the bull, the brunette only has $1 left. She realizes that she'll only be able to send her sister one word.

After thinking for a few minutes, she nods, and says, "I want you to send her the word, 'comfortable.'"

The telegraph operator shakes his head. "How is she ever going to know that you want her to hitch the trailer to your pickup truck and drive out here to haul that bull back to your ranch if you send her the word, 'comfortable'?"

The brunette explains, "My sister's blonde."

"She'll read it very slow."

spocksdad's photos reminded me of my time in the Navy.

I was on security watch...I went out and watched helicopter going back and forth from the dock to the deck, loading supplies. I went back inside and immediately an alarm went off.

Long story short-ish - Helicopter tail rotor caught overhead lines on the dock. Helicopter was thrown onto the deck of our ship. Lucky the seaboard netting was up kept it from going in. Also very lucky I do not recall anyone seriously hurt. Next lucky thing was I went back out where I was while watching and there were rotor pieces all over the place...so I could have been peppered.

I appreciate a man that can bake!

Mister can cook if I lay the recipe out and line the ingredients up beside it.

If I weren't around, he would survive on Sonic for breakfast and frozen pizza for supper.

Anymore peanut butter cookies left? Hmm. Maybe I will lay a peanut butter cookie recipe out and send him to the store for the ingredients!

Thanks for the idea!

So tried out the peanut butter cookie scenario on him as he was getting ready to go to his side job. I didn't know he had a side job on a Sunday. When I asked him where he was going he said side job. Then I started pouting and he said where did you get this idea?

I lied and said I didn't know!

You are safe modm!

She got ya, Larry Bear!

If milk dudes and milk duds could produce milk, they wouldn't be dudes, they would be duds. Except of you are a dud, then I am sure there is milk in the recipe somewhere.

You are so much fun to play with!

I like those...the glass cats, not the peanut butter cookies. I'm not really fond of peanut butter flavored things...peanut butter belongs in a sandwich IMHO. I much prefer snickerdoodles or white chocolate chip cookies. But to each his own.

Beau Bear?

Now, that was a dud. Not a dude.
