Well, rats--because everything (most everything anyway) had so many pictures to download or videos or song link's (with no song titles) that I needed to go to the library before I could read anything in the chicken thread. So I was entertaining myself waiting for the library to open by writing an elaborate commentary to Mel's response to my first reply to the sub thread about Australian Cattle Dogs vs Australian Shepherds.
It was very long but very informative and occasionally pretty funny. But when I was editing it (so that it didn't look like it was in some obscure foreign language it vanished!!!
I hate computers--not all the time but when they do things like that--had to be the computer--could have been me--I didn't even have my hands of the keyboard.
Well, Mel--it's not the kind of thing I'm going to do again--but one of the things I intended to clarify was the bit about AS breeders docking some tails because they weren't the right length. Almost ALL Aussies are docked. Even those born as bobs or partial bobs are rarely the right length. But the majority of Aussies are born with full length tails. Aussie breeders have been trying to breed out that particular trait because it's so often attached to other lethal genetic traits. If they have puppy born as a bob--they make note of it and try to make sure that pup is never bred to the offspring of another litter that had a bob in it. The better breeders keep track of stuff like that or they used to.
I found my Windows7 for Dummies manual--it was behind a whole row of books a friend of mine has been reading
And we had a practically perfect summer day yesterday--only got to 80 degree because the marine layer actually moved into the valley and it stayed overcast until noon. Today it's gonna' be a lot hotter--sun came up--no clouds--so higher 80's today and going up from there to a predicted high of 90 degrees. My poor geriatric dogs don't like the heat at all.
That's it--that's all I know until I can hit the library and look at all the stuff of elk crossing the street and bears pushing dumpsters down the street and stuff like that.
