Nope, no AC.

We had a couple visit us (from Purdue area, Kenny) one summer. They showed up in the morning and commented on how lovely the weather was. We told them we had no AC and they sighed, "Oh, to live in a place where you don't need AC. How wonderful!"

It turned out to be one of the hottest weeks here that I can remember in the last 25 years. They thought we were crazy without AC. But seriously, it's only about a week a year that I feel the need for it. And I hate the damp dank air that AC produces (compared to fresh open window breezes).

I just kinda realized that Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham might have a real world meaning. Green shelled eggs! Call me a city slicker because it took me that long to figure that out, I guess.

When my son was quite small, Green Eggs and Ham was one of his favorite books (I still practically have the thing memorized). I used to stick a little food coloring into his scrambled eggs so he could have green eggs for breakfast. Always a hit with him.

Re air conditioning--or not!

I have, most of my live lived place with no air conditioning. Born in South Dakota and spent summers there with my grandmother until I was a teen ager. No AC except the open everything up at night and close it up at down and don't let any sunlight into the house during the summer months.

But I lived in Seattle--which like Portland really never used to have more that a week or 10 days of over 80 degree weather during the summers--so no air conditioning in Seattle.

Lived in Sacramento for several years and it has hot summers and it humid--that's what they say but you couldn't prove it by me--no air conditioning in Sacramento and a typical poorly insulated California house but I don't remember having problems with either heat or cold (one small gas wall heater).

And I lived in and around Los Angeles--mostly close to the beach (Maria Del Rey, Santa Monica, Westchester) and LA is like Ma's description of her area of Colorado--can get very hot for a short period of time during the summer but cools off at night. LA and practically everything south of Malibu/Topanga is actually desert--real desert--and it's only water piped in from all over the place that supports all those green lawns, palm trees and attractive vegetation--without that you'd see nothing except low scrub growth--but it cools off at night. And near the beach often has very moderate temperature most of the year--Santa Ana's in the winter will sometimes give you 80 to 90 degree temperatures both night and day. But only the very newest buildings have air conditioning. I never lived anywhere around LA were the house I lived in had AC.

Oh, yeah--and of course the President says no climate change--rumors of such are 'fake' news.

ABLH--for all of the rain and heat going on around the country--the Pacific Northwest is enjoying very moderate summer temps. High 50's to low 60's at night and high 70's to low 80 's days.

You're So Vain - Carly Simon.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6UAYGxiRwU

You walked into the party
Like you were walking on a yacht
Your hat strategically dipped below one eye
Your scarf, it was apricot
You had one eye on the mirror
And watched yourself gavotte
And all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner
They'd be your partner, and

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain,
I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you?
Don't you?

Oh, you had me several years ago
When I was still naive
Well, you said that we made such a pretty pair
And that you would never leave
But you gave away the things you loved
And one of them was me
I had some dreams, they were clouds in my coffee
Clouds in my coffee, and

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain, you're so vain
I'll bet…

Step #1 = retire KEN.

Step #2 - move to FL, near LDi's place.

Step #3 - start going out as couples, with LDi & Scott.

Step #4 - let LDi befriend MrsDoc.

Step #5 - buy 2 Harley's, and give MrsDoc the smaller cc. one.

Step #6 - copy the good FL life, in them T- Shirt contest Biker bars.
- thank the Beau later

What I've got left are green and brown egg layers. The green egg layers (Aracaunas) are all I have left that are more easily identified. I will pick one out for you. Didn't have plans to go to Tractor Supply tomorrow, but looks like I am going to have to go for leg bands. Pork Chop is a cute name! Pork Chop it is!

OK... Denny and bug.

Pork Chop is going to be the name of my next pup. Boy or girl.

Heck, my son named his 3/4 sized stuffed Dobe "Cornbread"! LOL

Well... He was only 3 at the time.

Cornbread is still alive and kicking (so to speak) 33 years later. He is now Gabriel's "Doverman" (sic). LOL

STJ!

When I was a kid my Mom bought an entire set of Dr. Seuss books for me.
