I'd never heard that about the splines facing in...I guess I gotta go check all of my windows to see if that can be done with them--I just had a bunch of them replaced. I'll have to see how knowledgeable the installers were.

Speaking of splines, if you use pet screen, you do need to get a smaller spline size; pet screen is a bit thicker than the regular stuff. I remember ordering the stuff online, but I can't remember exactly how I figured out what size to use.

I didn't get that bit of esoterica from a screen company (or at least not initially) but from a friend who was working for a security company. I had been telling him about my watch cat who came and got me up because someone was breaking in through a front room window--went out to the living room and saw that a very heavy bronze bookend was on the floor in front of a window. My two roommates were dead to the world at 2:00am so I said loudly--"hey John, bring me the shot gun out of the hall closet..." Then there were sounds of running down the side of the building. I picked up the bookend and looked out the window--the screen was on the ground.

In the morning I went out and picked up the screen and the spline and reassembled them and put the screen back in.

It didn't occur to me that to have unzipped the screen by pulling the spline couldn't happen if the spline was up against the frame the screen fitted in.

The guy I was telling the story too took me out side and we looked at every screened window--only one was in the correct way--you'd have to cut the screen to take it out or remove the entire frame. But on the ones with the spline facing out you could stick the tip of a screwdriver under the spline, lift it up and then unzip the whole thing.

As soon as I realized that the pet screen was slightly heavier than regular screen I think that the size of spline would be correct for it. But it was just a tad too small for the regular screen--I mean Clark is a big cat--as a not fat cat he weighs between 14 and 15 pounds (and is roughly twice the size of Leon--who pretty much looks like a kitten next to Clark) but he hasn't ever managed to sleep against any other screens and push them out.

This is in my collection of miscellaneous crap that I've accidently learned over time.

Frig NO - warped rotors often result from shaving them...total waste of good $$.
- I thought you had your brakes done, a few months ago....?

New Brake parts (in Premium grade) are cheap now (if you know were to shop, online).
- go here & buy the Elite Series (drilled & slotted coated rotors & ceramic pads)

I wish I'd had a better excuse than the fact that my ever present sciatica was killing me the other day and I fell asleep watching the 6:00 pm news--woke up just as the 11:30 pm weather came on--got up took the 12:00 midnight pills and went back to sleep and woke up just in time for the 6:00am pills

All things considered I think I'd rather have just been bone tired from several over full days of farming.

Hope you're right about things starting to slow down a bit...

LOL! Talk about stuff from my miscellaneous file of weird stuff--I can't even think why but I know that cast iron is brittle and everyone hates to work on it. Maybe from all those chemistry courses I took. That's why steel replaced iron for almost everything--much easer metal to work.

I've put off yard work (or as I've learned to call it 'landscaping') I guess I'd better at least go out and pretend I'm doing something useful.

Right after I make the chocolate pudding (have most of a quart of milk that's just a little off--can't taste in in chocolate pudding like you can on cereal.

I'm country enough to kill a snake. Smart enough to get someone else to do it. Don't like $1600 vet bills. See ya snake!

Oh Hell! I give up!

Beau is going to have to help me tomorrow. We are duking it out via text. He's confused.

I have four Polish chicks that I can tell apart. One is Larry, one is Di. Two nameless Polish ones. One of the nameless ones will be named Bad Johnny! Another nameless to be named. AJ? you want a chick named after you? Kenny is the rare exotic one! I have to wait till they get older so I can band the Ma one! She said to pick a bossy one. Ma, the rest aren't as easy to tell apart.

Beau,

I've been thinking about this chicken naming thing. We got to fit TN in here, somewhere.

2 nameless ones. Bad John and Frank. They can fight over which one they want to be named after.

Ma is going to have to be a banded one. And, then there is Commander Cat. What color of leg bands do you want Mods?

Good early morning John!

Do you like silver and black or black and gold?

Or do you prefer to see your name sake pics?
