No worries about toilet paper either, Beau.

Mister is good about keeping us stocked up on that!

Although, when the babies get Pasty Butt I use paper towels. Mister stocks that well, too!

Google Pasty Butt, Di.

It's real!

Hope the weather holds up in your favor, Kenny!

SP, I think it's very brave of you to take on 21 new puppies all at once. Potty training alone could be a real hassle. I guess that's why you're planning to keep them outside in a kennel??

Seriously (now that I'm done with my lame joke), how long will it be before you know what the free exotic chick is? Does it come labeled? Or do you just have to wait until it grows up?

For that matter, how will you able to tell if they got your exact order right? Can you divide them into groups according to how they look, count them and guess from there?

Di - It's in her blood ! it's the challenge of raising the chicks - taking care of stock is very rewarding - well to some - When we had our Angus herd - the fun part was the baby calves .

SP has that farm girl in her - coming from Kansas = big time farm country -

BTW - I like the polished nails and toe nails - Rich looking red is one of my favorites

Babies have all been taught to drink (a MUST in this household) and tucked in!

So many comments to attend to.

I will start with Ma first.

Most of them are pretty easy to identify.

Barred Rocks are blackish chicks, Arachaunas sort of leopard looking. The polish ones have cotton balls on their heads. The rare one? Might be blending in with the Rhode Islands. Hope it's not a rooster.

Whew!

Rough day at work today!

Ma?

They are easy keepers. They love playing/fighting over/with grass clippings!

Got plenty of grass around here. No need to spend more money on their toys!

I am currently waiting for them to pass out from their journey.

I do it because farm fresh eggs taste way better than store bought. And, they are way fresher! Plus, when they grow into hens and start laying, they will pay for their own feed.

Plus, what Kenny said. It's in my blood.

Not exactly a farmer, but close enough.

Plenty of farmer history in me.

And, Kansas is BEAUTIFUL farming land!

It's just what I am drawn to.

For Starters, Beau!

That chick holding my box of chicks is Cassie at the Post Office. She is way hotter than me. She was freaking out when I asked if I could take a pic of her holding my box. She was looking around and asking me if this was a new thing like I was a government official. LMAO

And, Kenny?

I can't get the little buggers to shut up and go to sleep at same the same time. Yes they are noisy. They take shifts. 3-4 pass out for 5 seconds and then wake up.

Then! Here comes 3-5 more, to sleep and wake up.

It takes approximately 5-10 seconds for 3 day old chicks to take a nap.

Guess I am not going to get my 3-4 hour naps in for a while.

dobebug and ECIN like this.

Hey SP, let us CT critics in the peanut gallery be the judge of that....Don't be so hard on yourself. You'd look really great in a photo op actually driving a new JD zTrak machine....

As a joke, you should have told Cassie that your part of the Animal Rights movement and just raising chickens in order to revitalize the dwindling OK Coyote population- by attracting them to migrate from Indiana!

------------------------------------------------------------------

Question- Can the hen/rooster gender be determined on baby chicks?

Ten Doberman Rules
Poke Everything.
It's New? Bark At It.
Moves? Chase It.
Doesn't Move? Smell It.
Liquid? Spill and Dribble It.
Treat or Food? Wolf It Down.
Not Food? Chew It Slowly, Be Quiet & Hide From Human.
A Toy? Shred & Destroy It.
Stuffed? De-Stuff It.
Bites You Back? Wrestle It!

You are wearing me out!

Yes! You can determine a chicks gender when they are freshly hatched.

Kenny?

Can I have a bit of backup, please?

These girls are cracking me up!

I wish my mud room was big enough to add a computer and TV!

They fall asleep standing up and then get run over by a GM product!

I can't stop LMAO!
