Hey TN, if you want to send SP over the edge, just put on your old uniform and take another selfie on either a brand new JD Tractor, mower or other piece of heavy equipment....

Well, since there's not a snowball's chance in hell of me ever fitting into my old uniforms again, the best I can do is a pic of me sitting in the back seat of an F-4E, which I used to work on, back in another life. I believe this pic was taken at Clark Air Base in the Philippines, around 1988.

For those of you too young to know what a F-4E was...there was nothing quite like being at end of runway, watching these birds take off at night, 2 at a time, with full afterburners.

Really cool video and PIC TN.....my Father in law ...........he was in the Navy and resided on naval ships. He worked on the planes. The story he used to always tell us went like this......after they were done working...and all the lists were checked and double checked .....they would in turn fly with the pilots as the final verifications. He always said that test flight was real motivation to double check all the details.....as you knew you would be flying in that plane with the pilot!!!
You know my whole life I have lived in a big city and lead quite an easy lifestyle. I mean the biggest danger during my day in getting cut off in traffic.......I must say ......I am seeing and learning so much about other lifestyles through this forum ......that I do not think..... I would have ever been able to learn on my own. For this I am really thankful.......as I am able to hear about things first hand........versus the tainted crap on the news or other sources. Sometimes when I am having a “moment’ shall we say I now think about some of the more difficult jobs or lifestyles others have experienced...........then all of a sudden ..poof.....my life becomes so simple.
Thanks gang!!

TN - Oh yeah - The Phantom was - is - my favorite Fighter ! Back years ago we had a camper on a lake ( Hardy lake ) is was on a path to a military bombing area - we would be on the lake and here the Phantoms would come - we could see them coming for miles - as you know well - the early models really laid down some big time smoke from the engines - about 500 feet - they would line up with the beach area - then turn at about 45 degrees - inbound with the afterburning cooking ! Great sound - Everybody on every boat was on there feet cheering on our guys ! Thank you !

Di - Everybody has a story ! I - like you think about the cast members on here too ! Ship caption - Crazy Kansas girl with NO keys - Our over seas members - Our friends Nort of the boarder - Across this country = Pretty cool to learn !

Personally - I think your life stile is pretty dangerous ! Living in a city ? holly crap - that scares me just thinking about it

Well - going to see if I can find some place to plant - calling for heavy rain tonight - then rain back mid week - 2 to 4 more inch's of rain !

Everybody have a great day !

I've figured it out! Our "Crazy Kansas girl's" real name is Dorothy, not Denny, and that twister experience and trip to Oz really messed with her mind....

She moved to OK so she could live her life, incognito, on a farm raising critters & chickens, cuttin' grass and snakes...

Thanks, everyone....I feel like such a whiner, but gosh, this cold is just kicking my butt! LadyDi, I will have to pick up some nasal spray today - I have to venture out to Target to pick up bug spray...we got an email from the trial hosts that there are biting gnats at the trial site this weekend and we should all plan on bug spray - UGH! This is especially bad because Sypha has a particular hatred of biting bugs...I'm going to get some of those Off! clip on bug spray fan things so I can put one on her harness...she will absolutely NOT WORK if she's being bitten on the butt by bugs...sigh.

I went to bed last night at 9 pm and slept until 10 this morning - whoa. I can't believe I'm still this sick after a week...my husband has been sick longer and he's still feeling pretty crummy, too. This is one heck of a summer cold. Luckily I can mostly sit around today, so hopefully that'll help. Just have to pack up the car for the trial tomorrow and we're good to go.

Bug, I'd happily take magic soup, so feel free to ship that good stuff out!

I hope you feel better, too...no progress on the sciatica? Boo

Fighter planes...

I live just a short few miles from Portland International Airport. It is also home to the Oregon Air National Guard (OR ANG). They are comprised of the 142nd and 173rd Fighter Wings. There are our only immediate response to threats on our West coast from southern California all the way to the Canadian border.

Both Fighter Wings fly F15 CD Eagles. Baddass planes

Basically, the 142nd patrols and is on 24/7 alert. The 173rd is a training team that pretty much trains all USAF F-15 fighter pilots. It also does international patrol.

Personally, I love the sound of these planes. When I am driving to the airport and two take off, the ground shakes. My truck shakes!

Upon occasion, they will cut in the after burners while over the city. WOW!
It pisses some people off.

To me it is the sound of freedom.

STJ!

Yes, in deed!

I don't care if it's just an overall uniform! But, if that is what you are going to wear, there better be some heavy equipment pics.

- plus broth and wee spices, to die for // an addictive taste

When cauliflower is in season & local grown - will blanched 20 heads, a freeze it.
- otherwise, often very overpriced up North here

Papa on 2nd bowl now // Kelly loved the aroma, and licked my 1st one clean.

SO - NO SOUP 4 YOU AJ !!

How did I miss this?

I love it!

We were soooow slow at work today, I went shopping on Craigslist for a red pup.

Don't get y'all's panties in a wad. I was just dreaming.

Guilty of looking at horses, too!

Then I window shopped for barns.

Cuz needs to win the lotto, like before I am either too old to have fun with it or die.

Last year our Andrew - used this local bird rehabilitation center...to save a young Robin.
- couldn't fly and out in the sun

Another FUN moment, at the place...a feel good story.
- proving, animals are so smart & caring

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Centre - London, Ontario.

This mama mallard showed up at Salthaven escorted by two of our Canada geese. She marched her troops right up to the clinic and tapped on the door. When no one answered, she took them around to the back and into an open flight pen where she herself had been raised a couple of years ago. She had also spent a week with us inside the clinic when she was just a nestling which is likely why she first knocked on that door, looking for a place to care for her babies. How cool is that? Another testament to the intelligence of wildlife.

For those of you too young to know what a F-4E was...there was nothing quite like being at end of runway, watching these birds take off at night, 2 at a time, with full afterburners.
Never witnessed the birds in close proximity, like that. Got to watch a test pilot in action over the lake house I had. Even though he was way up there? I could still make out his helmet head. It was neato!

My brother was stationed on the USS Kittyhawk. He got my roommate and I a special pass to get on board, non-tourist like, while it was in port with him guiding us.

Massive! Scary to me!

Hey Di! Roommate and I got a look at a sailor zooming from the shower to his place, in just a towel!

From yesterday & today - I call this "Schiestel Economics".
- a negotiating skill I've honed (to perfection), since a teenager
- both the buy &/or sell techniques

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kirby Vacuum - bought "like-new" used, and wife found it very heavy / so flipped it, on FB.
- we bought for $240, when listed for $300 ...few years ago / monster heavy, so bought a Miele Vac. instead
- Beau listed it for $300 // had one $175 offer, and I turned into $250 cash
- so a good day / got our money back & still made a $10 profit

SOLD 1967 Beaumont Custom - 2 door hardtop....283-v8 not seized, but not started in 40 years.
- in need of a frame off restore, with a 90% panel re-skin restore...with AMD reproduction sheet metal
- quality Auto Metal Direct stamped tin to-do // full quarters, 1 piece trunk floor, door shells, front fenders, etc.

New owner is making a tribute car, "to his past'ed dad" // he was 8 y/o when his dad, had a dark green one.
- so a good day // Larry got close enough to his asking price, once he squeezed a low offer up by +60%

BANK run in RubyRed, for the $1,000 deposit $$...locks the deal in.

A local SD Beaumont friend, visited to measure my M21 Muncie 4 speed linkage, on my very rare 1967 396-v8 Sport Deluxe.
- Kelly is the photo bomber, in Dad's car hobby
- "A" body STJ, gonna like this one / his '67 Beaumont Custom model, with strato buckets

========================================

This is how these collector Muscle Cars, are now restored.
- all new re-popped metal / no rust or bondo
- a whole new Industry, has been created around the old car hobby & investment side

And, why are you posting a pic of a vacuum cleaner?

Us girls don't want to see that!

If the house is so dirty why don't you boys clean it!
