A while back, I tried to watch one episode when still working on ship and in port where we had DirecTv with HBO. (I'm too cheap to get it at home)

Scenes were all too dark to see and it had more flashbacks than "This Is Us" (flashbacks within flashbacks, which I despise...) so it was totally confusing, unless one had watched from beginning. ...

My main issue was whole story line premise - If the queen had power to fly on fire-breathing dragons that can destroy any and everything, then why was there ever any challenge or push back from other entities? End of story, game over....like the US at end of WWII when we were only world power that had nuclear weapons....

I read the books (and am not-so-patiently waiting for the next one) and I thought HBO did a good job of following the books. Until the show surpassed the books...my only real complaint is that they should have had more episodes the last season, everything felt a bit rushed with only 6 episodes.

TN , i enjoyed the series , my reason for asking was their was a joke the was being told by Tyrion , who played a dwarf and did a brilliant at this role , IMO Tyrion started to tell a joke that he never finished, and lots of people are wondering what the joke was. Well, here's the whole thing:

Tyrion walked into a brothel with a honeycomb and a jackass.
The madam says “How can I help you?”
Tyrion says “I for wish a woman to lay with, for mine has left me”
The madam says “Why did she leave? And what's with the honeycomb and the jackass?”
Tyrion replies “My woman found a genie in a bottle, and he granted her three wishes. She wished for a house fit for a queen, and the genie gave her this damn honeycomb. Her second wish was that she might have the finest ass in the land, so he gave her this damn donkey.”
“And what of the Third wish?”
“Well, she wished for my c*ck to hang down past my knees”
“That doesn't seem so bad”
“Not so bad, eh? I used to be six foot five!”

Sorry to be AWOL....MC has been feeling mighty sorry for herself (again, LOL)...I have a terrible, awful, no good, very bad head cold. I know, I know...it's not the worst thing, but....my husband caught it about half way through our stay-cation week last week, and I got it a few days later. It's one of those really nasty ones, too - my voice is almost gone, the sinus pressure is terrible, I'm coughing, miserable, can't sleep all that well....the whole shebang. It's been about a week and I'm still sick and super crabby about it!

Hopefully it'll turn the corner soon. I have a Nosework trial with both dogs on Sunday, and I really don't want to be miserable all day! Sypha is doing L1E in the morning, and Richter L2E in the afternoon (those are exteriors element trials...should be fun, who knows how it'll go - LOTS of distractions at the location, but we'll have fun!).

Other than that, weather keeps being...interesting. Wild swings in temps - today we're supposed to hit 90 - yikes. Not my favorite. Back down to 70ish for the weekend.

Does that tide you over, Doc?

MC.....regarding sinus issues from a cold.......if you have not done this already......use some Saline Nasal spray ........will not cure your cold but will shrink those internal nasal tissues back down to size.......thus opening up the nasal passages...allowing you to breath better.
Hope you feel better soon.

"But this year, snows have extended into late May from Northern Michigan through Colorado to the Sierra of California," he wrote Tuesday. "As a result of this persistent cold air mass, as of May 27, we are well above normal for total U.S. tornadoes."

So your bad weather/tornadoes are all my fault. Sorry, guys.

Here ya go doc.......see article
DB- Mr. Spock is the one that has lost quite a few pounds..........he is doing a great job on his loss......motivated me to get back onto my program. !!!Way to go spock........
DB I am usually up at 4AM..........Scott heads to the gym at 4:30ish......so in turn we are all up at 4AM.............yeah !!!!!
Once Scott gets home at about 6am...then Hoss and I go for our power walk...........45 minutes or so.............so I am usually on this thread pretty early in the AM.......
Uh, duh! You know what LadyDi--I knew that you got up early--you explained it awhile back--but I'm three hours earlier than you are at any given time I think. Right? Three hour time difference between Oregon and Florida?

So I beat your up at 4:00 am all hollow this morning. I was up at 1:30am--and only because my sciatic nerve didn't like the way I was sleeping on it and sent me a message that felt like a lightening strike midway down my left thigh--that definitely woke me up.

Thanks for reminding me who actually stuck to his diet--and it inspired me too (even if I didn't get the facts quite right) (but Kenny would understand since he's another one who isn't quite right). Yeah I really fell off the diet wagon big time--even worse, I gained back half of the 17 pounds I had lost. Rats!
So I'm back on it--if the weather is cold, rainy and generally ugly I want big bowls of thick stew and soup that has a ton of stuff in it (Hey MeadowCat--maybe I should package up some of my "special chicken soup--the kind that is not only good for the soul but will make colds feel a lot better" and send it to you).

So now I'll abandon all ye' and go to the store and then home--have a lady who wanted puppy ears done but I think English is a second language for her and I finally got her to tell me what day (today) but still don't know what time--I finally had to run some errands and I'll bet she shows up on my front porch while I'm gone.

Have fun--oh, I forgot--LadyDi--you must know that as a Luddite there is no earthly way I'd have been watching The Game of Thrones--I believe it showed only on a cable or satilight (I'm lost in the past--have no idea how to spell sattillite?) channel--you all KNOW that I'm over the air tv ONLY. Frankly the library sees more of me than any television does.

Have a great weekend all...

ABthe Luddite
