OK.....so far today ......had coffee and pumpkin bread.
Headed off with Scott and Hoss to Gandy Bridge area for another.........”SWIMMING LESSON”..................Hoss still swims with his vest on.........once his feet are not touching the ground he gets whale eyes.........so I just started holding him up by the chest belt and back strap on the vest and floated around “talking to him”.........Then he relaxes..............But in between swimming lots on romping in shallow water........Hoss and I are so exhausted .....Scott is still in motion getting all the sand out of the truck. Scott likes to be neat ...........of which forces me to be neat. Anyway.....whats everyone else doing today ........as we recognize our fallen soldiers?

Di,

All you have to do is take 1 stick and 1 Black Lab to a boat ramp, throw the stick. Hoss will figure it out!

Sure a lot of early risers this morning (sort of--but you are all at least one or two time zones east of me.

Happy Memorial Day one and all...

And I'm off to feed the clinic kitties and pet them--I did get the front lawn mowed yesterday--finally and although it's overcast now it's supposed to clear early and maybe I'll get the back yard done today.

Kenny that was an impressive stick in the mud you accomplished--some times the early bird doesn't get the worm--it only gets stuck!

Ya'll have a nice day...

I'm pretty sure you can't have a triangle that has all narrowly acute angles. You've got to be broadminded somewhere. So there's still hope...

Geometry and people represented as two-dimensional triangles? It's been done before. Has anyone here read the book Flatland?

It's a very strange little book...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flatland Wikipedia

The "Boots on the Ground" display.....

It's horrible to say, but in the context of some of the battles of WWII (D-day and the Battle of Normandy--in a relatively short time, over 209,000 Allied casualties, with nearly 37,000 dead amongst the ground forces and a further 16,714 deaths amongst the Allied air forces), the numbers of soldiers killed (6,200) since 9-11 over 8 years, always seemed relatively small.

Until you see something like this. It somehow brings out and emphasizes to me a realization of every life's preciousness.

The sacrifices our soldiers and their families make are immense. It is good to take time to remember them.

And his name is Bruce.

Good to know!

Chevy Power was awesome!

I was super nervous yesterday!

And, if anyone cares, my stove broke.

Had my heart set on manicotti.

Now got a roast in the crockpot and trying to turn it into something spagetti-ish. Threw a bunch of crap in there and still can't boil noodles!

Threw some mac in there.

This ought to be interesting!

Define "crap". If you meant taters, green beans, baby carrots, mushrooms ( I kinda lean towards portabella myself, but white is ok too), corn, etc, then you can't go wrong. However, if by "crap" you meant stuff like grits, a stick of butter, okra, spinach, liver & onions, etc, then you're on your own

Tomatoes and onions and pasta was all I had at my disposal.

It will be okay, but I wanted manicotti.

I love grits, butter, okra (fresh homegrown), spinach.....liver and onions I had once when I was in a weird mood, and I liked it that time. But I don't know if I'd want it again.

Okra could work (think gumbo), but the others, nah, not in a stew.

One thing about okra--it grows super fast. One day it isn't quite ready to pick, the next it is perfect and by the next day it is too big and woody. But picked at the right time, steamed immediately, add butter...yum. Like tomatoes though, there is no comparison between okra you get at a store or frozen, and what you grow at home. None.

Edited to add....pickled okra. Mmmmm.......

Good morning all ! My B-I-L farm together in the spring - I plant all the corn - he plants all the beans - we have close to 1,400 acres to put in - yet . He called last night - thinks -- thinks ! we can plant corn on his one of his Rush county farms - it will be very wet I know - it's either go or sit ad wait - chance of rain - again today - mainly north - I can't do anything here - we caught a rain around 4:30 yesterday - they got banged up pretty good North of us last night - Pendleton IN - looks like maybe 2 tornado's hit there - that is where my main Case IH dealer is and seen that the Exits are closed at ST. R. 38 and 65 - that is there exit I believe - I cut threw county to get there .
