Sigh...

Now they're predicting 1-2 inches. I think they're being alarmist.

Stay safe, SP. My weather is sorta fun to watch; yours, not so much.

Need some help here!

There was a flock of about 20! Only God knows how many hens/babies were out there!

The Toms were strutting like John Travolta in Staying Live!
Wait...what? What do you want me to do about the turkey invasion? It's not even close to Thanksgiving!

So a pair of robins built a nest under our deck and it seems like a boy can't sit on the deck steps to take bird/squirrel pics or take his dog out to potty without momma robin throwing a hissy fit. I swear I've never seen a robin with their head feathers all up and aggressive like this LOL

She's ready to kick @ss and take names!

A close up

Bringing home the bacon!

And here are the babies. It's getting mighty crowded in that nest and before anyone calls PETA on me for getting too close, I used my long lens for these shots!

Shaving a cat takes patient and careful, yet firm, handling.

Your newest puppy has such a cute grin, and those teeth poking out really maximize his charm. Is he sitting up on his own already? I've lost track of his age, but it sure looks like it in your picture.

WHAT is Radar watching on the telly?

Edited to add: Nolan was born in mid-September???? Where the heck does time go? Shoot, he should be walking soon. Life with baby is definitely in for another change.
Thanks! He is a sweetheart. This photo was taken moments before he pooped in the tub . He is 8 months old now, sitting well and starting to move around on his belly. No crawling yet, but I don't think it's too far off.

Radar was watching the news, and there was a story with barking dogs in the background.

As far as the cat goes, I have been calling groomers around my area to see what they think. I'm hoping that the vet will be able to take care of it, but if not they have a contracted groomer that they say does only cats, so hopefully that means she or he is pretty experienced with this kind of thing.

I suddenly realized I forgot to disconnect the hose after I watered the new bushes, so ran out into the snow to unhook it, because it is supposed to get below freezing tonight. My warm socks are WET.

And you're mean to bring up that I COULD have had warm feet if I had just planned ahead and/or been a little less impulsive.

But, you know, I think we already have close to 2 inches of snow sticking to the ground already and it is supposed to snow all night. Maybe they aren't being alarmist.

In general, mule deer tend to be a touch larger than whitetails, and their racks are bigger too. But that's very much a generality, and it depends on the time of year you're seeing and comparing them, too...a deer seen in early summer will be smaller than one seen in late fall, no matter which you're looking at.

I imagine it depends on whether the deer have lots of tasty suburban plantings to eat vs their normal wild diet too.

Anyway, I am as excited as you get seeing a mule deer, when I see a whitetail--which we have, but they're not nearly as common as the muleys, generally found only in our thickety river bottom land.

So...

A few days ago, McCoy bounded towards a cat and pulled me down 8 stairs. It was night and I was facing backwards. I got pretty busted up. Oh well.

He was sorry. Me, more so.

Nothing broken. Lucky. Hurts a lot.

Wonder how Bug made out yesterday.......I read up on the procedure.......thinking she should have felt OK yesterday..........with pain meds still in her system from the procedure. During this injection they also flush out the problem area where a lot of proteins build up due to the long term inflammation...so hopefully getting that area flushed out will improve things for her some .....She might be sore for several days ....but then after 3 or 4 days things should start balancing out..........

Stay safe, SP. My weather is sorta fun to watch; yours, not so much.
I don't know about that statement Mel - Snow ? It's boring - just falls and blows around - Now a Big super cell Thunder-storm ! That gets the blood to pumping ! Lowering cloud base - in-flow - wall clouds - Sky turns blue green - Dobers pacing - Just say 'n'

And now - Your farming UP-date ! I know you have all been waiting in great anticipation !

Nothing has really changed in East Central Indiana - a few planted on Friday and Sat. - way to wet ! But at this time on the calendar - I'm not saying they were wrong !

Chance of rain threw next Monday - Was calling for NO rain today - But radar at 6:57 begs to differ !

Advanced forecast - at this time - calling for up to 2- 2 1/2 inch's of liquid sunshine !

Like they say in Top Gun - Tensions are high !

Nice read on planting progress across the corn belt - this should bring you up to date when talking to your neighbors - lol
