And STJ AKA John or 4x4 John--donned his deerstalker hat and disquised as Sherlock Holmes tracked me down via the vet clinic and Nickie who always is good for causing trouble hooked us up via the good old telephone.

Her opening line was "There's a guy named John looking for you because you haven't been checking in!" And went on to say "...and now I know you slink around the internet known there as Bug--I'm gonna' spread the word."

So our STJ now knows that at work they know me as Ruth (but I'll also tell you that I've only been known as Ruth at work in two places--both, because they were medical facilities of one sort or another.

It's still very painful to sit for any length of time--but I'll try to be better by at least checking in (at least I'll try to do that).

Nidaros Cathedral Aurora....... https://youtu.be/MHUAjFwITXQ?t=1235

You must check this out......I just discovered this gal a month or so ago.........I find her quite enchanting .......she uses her body so much during her songs.......
she started singing as a young child...started writing music a 7 years old........so I have been listening to her ... then I found this concert within this cathedral.....
picking up at about 13 minutes into this video.........pipe organ.................all of this I find beautiful...and she is just so cute like a little elf as she finishes her songs.......be open minded ...I know so many of you are classic vinyl fans ...me to....but her music just gives me chills..............
So for those with nothing else to do......please listen and enjoy.

Got that shut down!

Mel,

It was my fathers mother who was Ruth.

I could never figure out where that name came from --practically every girl in my generation seemed to be a Patricia, Margaret, Donna or Sandra.

And I know all the boys were Michael or John.

Huh! Since it was my paternal grandmothers name (my maternal grandmother was named Marie and my middle name was for her). Does that make me a closer relation to you than to Mel?

The family story goes that when my mother was pregnant it evidently never occurred to her that she was going to have anything other than a boy. She had that name picked out. He would be Thomas. I'm f*****g lucky she didn't name me Thomasina. At any rate--I was not a first child who was going to provide a long, long labor--by the time she got to the very small local hospital both of the labor rooms were occupied and they needed to get the gurney out of the hall way so they shoved it (with her) into the custodians big broom closet--the maternity nurse came in to check and said "Oh MY_GET HER DOCTOR NOW"

Someone ran down the hall and found the doctor and I was born about 2 minutes later--yes, in the danged boom closet. According to my mother--as soon as the carted me away to clean me up another nurse came back wanting to know my name for the paperwork (they'd call it a registration for a puppy--I don't know what they call it for a baby.

Since she hadn't thought about it at all except for a boy whe made a quick decision to make both grandmother's happy and said "Ruth for one grandmother and Marie for the other."

And then, because my fathers last name was Rand--I quickly became the only three year old who knew who Sally Rand was.

Thus endeth the stories for the day. And I gotta' get up and go lie down--can't sit any more...

And I've been spending all this time worrying about you Kenny and your damned crops--I keep seeing all the rain in the heartland and I know how much farmers like torrential rain during spring planting season.

I fell asleep during one news segment last night that was showing a farmer in eastern Washington (or maybe Oregon) planting spring wheat and woke up to some later segment to a fairly big sized combine harvesting soy beans--the combination of drugs I'm now on had be wondering what happened to summer.

Thank you all for worrying about me.

Beau,

I read through your info sheet on cyanoacrylate glues and I know you're Canadian and all but the product we use in the clinic (where John found me--or at least he found my co-workers) is called "Skin Bond" and the product I use at home for me (well the dogs occasionally) is called "New Skin"--they are also the ones that are modified for use on animal skin.

ABTLLHH

PS--for all--I'm actually listed on Portland information--just in case you get to looking for me again...

I would have been George had I been a boy, after my mom's father. But since I was a girl, I was named after his mother...Melissa Gregory.

Lots of Thomases in my family though.

Edited to add: this is not the non sequitur it seems; I was responding to Bug's post a little while ago.

@ bug...

" (my maternal great grandmother was named Marie and my middle name was for her). "

Small world. My maternal great grandmother's (via my grandfather) name was Marie. I have a painting of her in our basement office/gym. All the other women in my mothers family seen to have been named "Mercedes". Including my great grandmother, my grandmother, my mother, two cousins and several nieces.

Weird...

Beau is embarrassed, but will share a sock funny / and the photo, is still on my cell phone...for next down load.

Tuesday I went to the dentist, and grabbed a pair of socks...out of my dresser.
A pair, i don't remember ever buying or wearing before.
- when wife comes home, she said...
- "where did you get those socks" ?? so I told here
- Mrs. said, "those are mine" // that explains, why they were so tight & short

Years ago, BabyBear spent the night & changed his undies...in the morning, when he
got dressed.
- some how, his undies got washed and found their way into Dad's dresser
- one morning I tried getting the skinny pair on
- soon Papa gave up, stuck on the top of my legs LOL

Cats came through their dentals fine...whew!

Another gorgeous weather day today, evidenced by this:

We're heading towards a lot of rain and possible storms the next three days...should be interesting, since my dogs will be sitting in the car Saturday/Sunday while we're at the echo clinic all day. At least it'll be cool, I guess.
