Breaking news here - They blew our weather forecast here ! calling for 3 to 4 inch's of snow - It all stayed South of us ! Spring is here - seen a Buzzard the day before ! and the Sandhills are still heading North ! Better get out the sun tan lotion !
Good late evening to, you!

11 DAYS!!

The robins are showing up here and there, and that means spring!

Woo Hoo!

Spring and summer are my favorite seasons. I am okay with fall, as long as it drags summer with it a little longer with it.

What did I forget?

Oh!

I hate cold weather!

My mom was never the sympathetic sort...but she did listen.

I never liked to admit when I was hurt, so when I came in the house, age 7, and announced that I thought my arm was broken, she took me off to the doctor. The doctor took a look and said, "Well, it's not really swollen and she's not crying when I move it....I don't think it's broken, just a bruise."

My mom said, "She says it's broken. Xray it."

And it was.

That time I only had a cast from the middle of my hand to just below the elbow. The next time I broke an arm my cast was more like yours--around the thumb, up to the middle joint of the fingers and above the elbow. And then I had stitches three separate times...all before I was ten. I mostly remember being upset they wouldn't let me watch them stitch me up.

I also remember that my mom's hair was getting grey even when she was still relatively young.

LOL MEL!

My sister is 11 months younger than I am . (Yeah not good family planning). So we are kids and climbing the apple tree beside the house. Jeanne falls out of the tree and grabs her arm. I say something like "Well, we had better go see mom". So Jeanne is doing fine although it obviously hurts.

Our mother takes one look at it and says " Oh, you really broke that arm! We need to get straight the emergency room.

Of course Jeanne, who had been fine, got hysterical.

STJ!

My brothers used to go frog’in ....they used these long poles that looked like a devils fork.....with a rope on the pole. They would do after these real large bull frogs.

My Grandmother used to tell me stories about god and also the devil.

One day my sister and I was playing a game called “devils” .....got the pole from the back of the house and threw the pole towards her like I thought the devil would do.....and the fork went into her upper leg.

She was furious at me ......why why she screamed at me...............response.........devil.

Me, I'm no fan of summer. At least not here in TN. Mid to upper 90s, with brutal humidity. My favorite season here is fall, with winter being a close second. Normal winters, that is, not what we had this year which was day after day of dark, gloomy, rainy days. Spring seems too short these days, we get a week or two of mild pleasant temps then BOOM, it's in the upper 80s and I'm already pining for fall. If I was king, it would be fall 365 days a year

LOL LDi - Twin67 was furious at Beau once to.
- grade8 age, and he was napping on parents bed
- Larry and our neighbor boy, was playing & we walked through the bedroom
- while I was carrying a BB gun

Yep I DID - gave him a little taste of "air rifle cooper", in the butt.
- never seen him jump up so quick & start screaming @ me
- then I had to go into "damage control mode" ...but it was an accident ????
- before parents, would ultimately find out // and Larry would be in some "deep do-do"
- didn't seem so funny now

MrsBeau not stealing or laying claim to the PapaBear truck...
- Kelly can't jump in RubyRed (backseat) ...she will be 7 y/o, in Sept.
- don't know if its age related, or just a plain refusal to try
- so a big folded ramp has to come out & propped open, on rear of rocker panel...total PITA, one handed here
- and no hand grabber, in proper position on passenger side / again, harder to hop in for Mrs.
- may need some sort of running boards, when the 20" alloys rims go on in spring
- driver side is easy enough, to hop in / always have the steering wheel, to grab hold of

Luckily, mom likes her Toyota RAV4 and dad only drives Silverado, on dry winter roads
- once every few weeks
- or the road salt on Hwys, would rot the frame rails out (eventually)

B67 had it all planned out - let me be clear LOL, "woof / woof / woof" !!

Hey Denny,

Even though I'm a pretty big fan of berber carpeting I have to disagree with Beau67 about that as a good choice for you. Carpet specialists will tell you that any household with cat will have problems with it--even if you are keeping their nails short just walking through berber they tend to catch individual strands of carpet and pull it up--you can keep trimming off the threads that they pull of course but it still tends to show up over time as irregularities and makes the carpet look worn before its time.

I'd suggest you talk to a good carpet dealer (even if you find a different pkace to buy the carpet for a discount) and ask what they would recommend considering you have both cats and dogs (and people) living in the house.

I know they'd all recommend that you don't use any carpet in the coop or use the newly carpeted house to keep chickies in a varmint proof area.

Regards,

I'd suggest you talk to a good carpet dealer (even if you find a different place to buy the carpet for a discount) and ask what they would recommend considering you have both cats and dogs (and people) living in the house.

I know they'd all recommend that you don't use any carpet in the coop or use the newly carpeted house to keep chickies in a varmint proof area.

Regards,

ABTLLHH

B67- I was going to suggest placing a piece of tasty Canadian Bacon in the backseat as incentive for Kelly to jump in, but then I remembered she's a Yank Dobegal!

Beautiful sunny day!

I am getting wound up. Can't wait to start mowing snakes.

Making spaghetti today. You all want to come over?

Bring your own drink, though.

It's fake news!

It's on a wire.

And, I can't wait to fire up the mower!

LOL--poor Beau--you must be on Denny's list today.

Denny--I can't stand it--70 degrees (I could take 70 degrees even with wind) Portland has had wind along with out unusually low March temperatures--which aren't better today--well, that's sort of an exaggeration.
Last night it only barely got down to 32 degrees long enough to snow sometime during the night--but the streets and sidewalks were warm enough to not allow the snow to stick. Supposed to get up to about 43 degrees today and down to 28 degrees or so tonight but also supposed to be dry on Sunday and at least partly sunny. It's sunny right now which is deceptive--lures you outside and then even though it's not very windy you find out you are freezing.

Have a great day...
