You know, I haven't seen the movie "Solo" so I don't know how it is handled, but the idea of filming solo climbing like that and making it sound exciting sorta bugs me. I've known a climber or two who were into free climbing (climbing without ropes and safety gear); they were very good climbers, always pushing the limit, always looking for the challenge and thrill.

But it can become an addiction of a sort. They eventually ended up dead, in spite of their skill.

I hate to see that kind of extremely dangerous sport glamorized.

Like I said, I haven't seen the film, so I'm hoping it is done in such a way that it doesn't start a new craze of inexperienced thrill seekers getting into trouble trying to emulate this guy.

Just my two cents.

My ex was into rock climbing at a pretty high level, but he was always careful with his gear. I tried once or twice.....ugh. Not for me.

Sypha has the meanest owner ever. Evidence in the video:

I used to make snowballs to throw for the dogs. Of course the balls disintegrated when they landed, but the poor pup (Kip, who was my obsessive ball dog) would be left sniffing all around trying to find the ball.

I thought it was funny. Mean mom.

(In my defense, I didn't do it very often. I'm not quite so mean as all that.)

Our snow is just starting....we might get up to a foot with this storm. I hope it doesn't just keep barreling along and dump on you folks too. I like snow and am still gung-ho for more, but enough is enough. You guys deserve a break.

MC - MC -MC - I thought you were a " Nice " person I did that once - only once - to Kadin - but it was like the other " Mean " person -- " Mel " did - and made a snow ball - and threw it ! Boy - he was on it and got it ! Then - Then ! He started to eat it - I told him to quit ! He ate most of it - then ran in the office here AND then blew his cookies everywhere ! Add that to my good idea = dumbazz attack ideas !

Kelly was running in the snow, beside RubyRed this morning.

And when she wanted inside // she had a wad of snow, on the end of her nose.
- so I get my boots off
- Kel runs for a toy
- dad trying to get the perfect cell phone photo, before the snow melts
- and most of it did LOL
Beau tried !!

In this film.....having dudes climbing with him and filming was an issue.......the camera men deal with their own issues also .....their concerns ..causing him to fall. Turns out he made it......a big rock called “El-cap-i-tan”.......yes ....quite an addition.
I will stick to hiking........thank you.

Got The Sheriff for the week. Thank goodness the little feisty senior loves McCoy and thinks I am god. (I saved his life twice) He is a tough little S**t. I took them out for an evening walk and then they decided to "play". Ever seen 9+ yo and 4 yo males in full play mode? I have to keep totally on top it. Unless one knows the breed, it would scare the crap out most people.

Even after McCoy, who outweighs Sheriff by 25lb. was done, Sheriff kept coming after him. Not meanly, more like: "What? Let's get it on, you sissy". Nose pokes, small woofs, light pawing.

Well... They are both now dead to the world. McCoy in his room and Sheriff on a dog bed in mine.

Good thing McCoy is so sweet and tolerant. Good thing Sheriff is old. LOL.

STJ!

I thought I was going to be the first one out of the gate this morning, but BeauBear beat me to it!

Good morning, Peeps!

I don't like self check either.

When I worked at Home Depot and ran the self check out lines, customer's were hesitant to use them even if I was doing all the work!

What is on the agenda for everyone today?

Thanks for the snow, Beau! Good morning to you, as well!

Good Morning all and Meadowcat - lol Got a few pair of jeans in the washer - got behind with this week ( wife is still having problem with broke foot ) So Being the bestest of best type husbands - helping her out - or to say - I would have dirty jeans - lol

Been a very busy past 2 weeks here - how this week is a slow one - to catch up on some things - like take Kadin on a few truck rides and work lots on OB !

Backed off snow amounts here - was 6 to 8 - then 4 to 6 then now - 1 to 2 inch's ! But - it's going to get cold - in the morning ,
-10 wind chill .

Now - a handy tid bit for you ladies - and I guess guys to ! We have been having problems with the washer - it runs past set time - sometimes as much as 15 to 20 minutes - I made a call to the repair man ! Said it could be a number of things - So then I started to check out some of them myself = no joy ! Now your going to love this one ! Wife came in made a comment about the water fill the washer was very slow - I think her comment was - could pee harder - lol So - like I said - being the bestest of the best husbands - I JUMPED right up ( maybe a week later ) and checked it out - sure enough - it was very low - so shut off both hot and cold water supply and took off the hoses - just what I thought ! The cold water screen was blocked off with some rust - this washer had 2 screens - cleaned out the first one and then took the second out and threw it away - repeat on Hot - was not as bad as cold - then time to test it ! it ran like a brand new one ! Another job well done Ken ! And did I get any thanks from my wife ? Hell no ! All she said was I told you it was slow 2 weeks ago ! I thought I was moving pretty quick on that deal -- women !

LMAO!

See? Us Ladies aren't born nags. You brutes turn us into nags!

Buy them books, send them to school...

Who do you think designed the chicken coop?

LOL

I forgot to add that I just love to say, "I told you so.", as I turn my back and wave as I leave the "situation".

Don't even yank my chain, when it comes to stops lights.

Everybody has to whip out their phones.

Those are the people that cause accidents.

That is why I take the back roads.
