Well time to buy a new lawn mower this year ..........seriously considering a brand called "Lawnboy" ....

I had a Lawnboy back in the 1980, used it for 15 trouble free years.
- until the gas tank plastic cracked
- it was heavy to turn, with self propelled / often hurt my wrist, turning it around
- and mixing oil & gas together, for the 2 stroke engine...got to be a PITA quick

BeauBear will make you some recommendations LDi.

a) even if lot was small, still get self propelled / aluminum decks litter than steel

Beau favorite PICKS.
#1) TORO 22" (56cm) Personal Pace® Mower (20332) // Briggs engine
https://www.toro.com/en/homeowner/wa...nal-pace-20332

#2) Honda with aluminum deck.

This model lasts forever / TwinBro has one.
- expensive & maybe Discontinued now, Commercial Kawasaki motors tops
#3) Ariens Classic LM21SW (21") 179cc Kawasaki Self-Propelled Lawn Mower w/ Swivel Wheels
https://www.powerequipmentdirect.com...194/p8976.html

NOTE
- Mower quality is usually much lesser, in Big Box Stores / slight model # change
- cheaper ones usually hard to fix // Home Depot or Lowes don't repair, what they sell
- compared to Independent Dealers, selling quality

^^ Larry got a $700 mint TORO once, for 40 bucks...several years old & like new...inside stored.

I called up my tile guy and he said // had to take his mother to city, buy his old dad a new lawnmower.
- I said, but you already bought him an expensive one, once
- son paid $150 to have carb fixed, and still leaked of fuel // his senior father kept complaining

So Beau said, you trading in the Toro / Yes, mother said they will get $30 for it, she already phoned.
- so Larry said, drop it off in my driveway before you go to city
- and I'll give you $40...and so they did

I even offered to put gas in it & try and fix for tile guy / but No, his mind was made up (for a new one).
- after him & his mother left / I put gas in it & fired up on 2nd pull, and no fuel leak

Turns out, his old dad didn't like the rear leaf bagg'er (as good as Craftsman mower) & made up some Lies...so adult son, would buy him a new one.

Tile guy always asked me how I like my $40 mower / its OK, I said...took some fix'in.

Beau. noticed post count @ 14,850 and 14,980 ...and son forgot, about it.

LD- For gas powered mowers I recommend Honda. My Honda HRM 21 lasted 25 yrs + using Mobil 1 synthetic oil. I just handed down, still working good, to son-in-law in 2018 when I transitioned all yard equipment over to 40V Ryobi (green stuff).

40V Ryobi- No pollution, low noise for Dobes, no fuel mixing, common batteries with 40V trimmer, edger, blower, chain saw, pole saw, hedge trimmer and tiller equip.

If you have a med to small yard the 40V SP Ryobi 20" mower will cut all on one 5AH battery pack, but I recommend spare pack. All sold at HD, but just wait for sales. 3-yr warranty on equipment and batteries if you register online, after purchase.

LD- Yeah, I'll do it with you. I once lost (20) lbs. in 2+ weeks on the Sardine diet/fast about 6 years ago. I need to do it again for annual physical next month.

Had to go to union annual physical in SF which was also USCG physical for license. Main meal at noon consisting of (1) can of sardines in spring water with chopped onions and jalapeno peppers and either hot mustard or Horseradish sauce. (makes eating very slow) Only other food during day was some liquid fruit juices and occasional veggie mix with Thai spices (again, makes you eat slowly) Cut out all breads, starches and sweets....

How does that sound to you.....??

Damnit ! That rain today is cold ! Been out in it all afternoon , But the real reason for this post is I have a confession to make - I hope you all don't get mad at me and we can still be great friends - But to cut to the quick - so to speak -- Is - dang - I don't know if I should just let things lie - Oh to hell with it I need to get this off my chest - but the truth on the matter - I'm not really a farmer !

I'm just a singer in a Rock ad Roll Band !

Burton Cummins (SP?) Great 60's-70's rock vocalist. I was more partial to Bob Segar (Similar voice), Probably because he played at our high school dances. His band was called The Bob Segar System. He made his fame with the Silver Bullet Band. He is now in the R&R Hall of Fame.

Good for you SD - below diet, sounds very similar to Sardine.
- seems to work amazing / while Steak takes better
- goes totally against, many food guides / influenced by political lobby groups

Dr. Jordan Peterson & his sick daughter / cure weight problem & health...eating only steak & salt & greens // later cut out greens.

OK spock ....weight loss program YES YES ...sardines .....noooooooooo.......OK .....let's do this ...........

I've had a lot of luck with.....I don't know what it's called....but it's basically all meat and non-starchy vegetables. All the meat and eggs you want, no need to watch the fat that's in the meat, just don't add more. A little cheese (like one piece of string cheese a day). Vegies are just basically leafy stuff, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes. You can have snacks like pork rinds if you want salt and crunch (and can stand the flavor). You're aiming for about 25 g** of starches a day, and no sugars--no sweetened drinks, ice cream, cake or cookies )

Limit processed meats (high salt?). No corn, peas or beans. No fruit (Olives and avocados are OK), No bread, pasta, potatoes, etc.

Anyway, generally you can lose between 15 and 20 pounds in the first month, and then add a little of the good stuff back in and lose a little slower. I found I didn't even have to be particularly careful to watch how much I ate because I didn't really get hungry (and I'm one of those who eats until my mouth is happy, which is usually more than my tummy needs.)

I'm a bread person, and I really missed the starches the first couple of days, but after about 3 or 4 days of no starch, I didn't find myself craving it any more.

It was also a fairly easy diet to upgrade to normal eating. You can add a couple of servings of breads and fruit, and still maintain weight pretty easily.

**Editor's correction....25 GRAMS of starch, not mg. Or maybe even up to 50 grams, but keep it low.

I have a Toro self-propelled (3 speed) mulching mower. It takes ordinary gas and you don't have to bag the grass. It's about 25 years old and doing just fine.

One main piece of advice I'd give---pay attention to the width of cutting area--that can make a difference if you have a big yard (or if you have a yard with lots of tight spaces to get around.)
