Elmer Fudd
- He speaks in an unusual way, replacing his Rs and Ls with Ws, so he always refers to Bugs Bunny as a "scwewy wabbit". Elmer's signature catchphrase is, "Shhh. Be vewy vewy quiet, I'm hunting wabbits", as well as his trademark laughter.

Wacky Elmer Fudd Quotes...created in 1940.

Be vewy vewy quiet, I'm hunting wabbits!, He-e-e-e-e!

Come over here you scwewy wabbit.

Say your pwayers, wabbit!

Why, you wascally wabbit!

Okay you cruddy rabbit, I know you're in there, come on out.

My name is Elmer J. Fudd. Miwwionaire. I own a mansion and a yacht.

West and wewaxation at wast!

Gee, I hope it didn't hurt too much when I killed you, Mister Wabbit.

Oh boy! Rabbit tracks! There's something screwy around here.

Just wait till I get my hands on that scwewy wabbit and that scwewball duck!

You're no shewiff! You're that scwewy wabbit!

Wisten to the whythmic whythm of the woodwinds as it wowws awound and awound...and it comes out here!

WHAT?! A Buck Wogers Wightning Quick Wabbit Kiwwer!

But I haven't got a wiscence to shoot a fwicaseeing wabbit.

Hewwo! Acme Pest Contwol? Weww I have a pest I want contwolled.

Any time those two wittle nut cwackers think they can out-smart Ewmer J. Fudd they've got another thing coming.

Come on, Wover boy. Wet's go hunting.

I hope you can hewp me mister game warden. I've been towd I can shoot wabbits, mongooses, pigeons, dirty skunks and ducks. Can you teww me what season it weawwy is??!!

Good evening, sportsmen evewywhere...'Fwesh-Fwied, Fwesh-Fwozen Wabbit Company' bwings you 'The Sportsman's Hour,' with handy hunting tips by yours twuwy, Ewmer Fudd!.......And today I have a WEAL surpwise for you: I will demonstwate the pwoper pwocedure for hunting, twacking down and bwasting to smitheweens a weal, wive wabbit!...Now, be vewy, vewy quiet...

KILL THE WABBIT! KILL THE WABBIT!

Geez awfully quiet dang I wonder if there anymore hunters out here this mornin'

Not this weekend, you're not! You're the symbol of Thanksgiving! Huhuhuhuhu! And you're dinner!

But you wang my phone operator. Oh yes, my phone went RIIIIIIIINNNNNGGGGGGG.

I've got you now you rabbit. I'm gonna blow you into a million rabbit cutlets.

You'll never take me alive!

And while you were getting to figure out what Elmer actually means to say Bugs Bunny has outwitted him again (sigh):

Elmer Fudd: Got you, you wabbit stew, you.
Bugs Bunny: Look, Doc. Are you looking for trouble? I'm not a stewing rabbit. I'm a fricasseeing rabbit.
Elmer Fudd: Fwicasseeing wabbit?
Bugs Bunny: Have you got a fricasseeing rabbit license?
Elmer Fudd: Well, no. I...
Bugs Bunny: Do you happen to know what the penalty is for shooting a fricasseeing rabbit without a fricasseeing rabbit license?

- and only Silverado in years 2003 to 2007 Classic (before body change)
I didn't look for one real hard / but knew when I find the right one, time to pull the trigger.

Some reasons, influencing Beau choice in trucks.
a) the front headlights, we call "cat eyes" / and look way cool
b) the Chev. front grill is also very attractive, with the chrome horizontal bar
- just not fond of the GMC Sierra front end treatment
- even the Chev. truck front fenders, just look iconic somehow
c) I wanted an Extended Cab, to get the 6.5 ft box length / avoiding the crew cab, with shorter 5'7" box length
- if we find a nice slide in camper / the extra box length, will be perfect
- only our doberman, rides in the back seat of my trucks...so full rear seats, not important
- plus I like the hidden door handles of the Ext. cab
- and not interested in camping with a 24 ft. trailer, pulled behind
d) Q-Steer parts are all discontinued by GM / but easy parking and 3 point turns, is more important in my retirement years
- hopefully the Quadrasteer will be problem free, for many years / I only drive about 5,000 miles/year now...as wife's v6 Toyota RAV4, gets decent mpg & used for most family errands
- the RPS (rear position sensor) sell used on Ebay for like $2,500 // but a guy on FB rebuilds them now, for $200 ...auto knowledge & a gifted & smart mechanic, is Key, in these special trucks
- so their is always a smart way, to keep vehicle repair costs down
- as wife's v6 Toyota RAV4, gets decent mpg & used for family errands
e) on newer Chev trucks, I hate the square wheel wells and the body exposes a lot of the frame rails...just don't do it for me

A new loaded Silverado Z71 is probably $82,000 Cdn...and for what.
- the 4 cylinder deactivation on these v8, cause the motor to need rebuilding...after the warranty expires / problems in both bottom & top end
- and they stand so tall, on 20 inch rims...need a foot stool to crawl in
- saw a 5'10" guy gassing one up, and when he walked to the front of his truck...he looked like a "little person" / seemed like his shoulders, approached the top of the hood

NEW, No Thanks ^^ If I search very infrequently for 6 months, I can usually find a babied truck for +/- $10,000...sometimes, almost by accident.
- and I like 15 year old toys, better

PS JOHN - when did the aluminum LS blocks come out?...my wild a*s guess is 2005.
- I asked Twin67 a few nights ago (?), but U will know
- any pros & cons between aluminum & cast iron blocks...besides weight

And STJ - now you got me real stoked, on the Victory Red paint (Corvette truck color, introduced in 2003 truck model).
- 2002 red paint code, was called Fire Red

Love to see a few pics, of your 1999 z71 John...they don't come any better.

BeauBear?

Not picking at or on you, but that front end was a deal breaker for me. I really despised GM when they did that. Nothing personal, just sharing an honest opinion.

Still love me?

Everything else looks great with that truck!

I would put different tires on it, if I bought it.

40 years ago, Beau liked the 1955 Chev. better than the 1957 Belair / now I like the '57, my tastes have been refined.
- up here the Silverado cat-eye front end, adds $2,000 to truck...over a GMC model

And the tires are recently new, on 20" alloys / the early chrome 20's are in demand.
- and the BFG ALL-TERRAIN T/A KO2 are $325 each list / so x4 and Free is good

SP thinking of you / still Love me !!
- and I do value you opinion, however only slightly "Truck taste" distorted
- even though, no recommendations were offered / on wheels
- I will b!tch

An observed interaction between the Canis and Felis Species:

DogDog mouths the air in the general vicinity of cat.
Cat waves a front foot at him in a threatened whap.

DogDog play bows.
Cat looks offended.

DogDog shoves a tug toy in cat's face.
Cat says "Ewwwwww" and stalks off.

Poor DogDog...

Dogs are from Mars; Cats are from Venus.

Hey Beau,

I don't know what the difference is between aluminum and 'cast iron' (I thought they were steel not cast iron but what do I know?) block on a Chev truck but I can tell you what the difference was between aluminum and steel on VW's when they first changed to aluminum blocks. They changed in 1968. I bought a new VW (because someone chose to steal my 1962 when my oldest stepdaughter left the keys in it when she parked it at a SoCal university parking lot). 1969 was the second year of the aluminum block and the 1968's hadn't been around long enough to have started demonstrating the problem with the aluminum block.

The short version is that the engine bolts eventually pulled out of the aluminum block. My 1969 kept getting harder and harder to start--went and talked to my mechanic a pothead who was brilliant working on engines but didn't work on brakes because he said if he spaced out on some detail on brakes it might kill someone but if the car stopped and wouldn't start because he forgot to tighten something down it wasn't a big deal. Anyway he was a dandy mechanic and cheap. He said, "Hard to start? What year is it?" I told him 1969--he said that wasn't what he meant--what year was it now? Like I said--a pothead.

It was 1974--without looking he said--pulled bolts... After he tried to start it--he said definitely pulled bolts. Then he looked at the engine and said it was a wonder that I could start it at all--evidently there was a pretty big gap because of the bolts.

By that time there was an available kit from VW to fix the problem and I had the car back and running much better and starting just fine a couple of days later.

I think VW made all the engines from 1970 on with steel inserts for the bolts to go through and that took care of the problem.

Good1 AuntBug
The aluminum head vs the cast iron block corrosion / resulting in head gasket failure & seized or stripped head bolts....aluminum threads pull right out, needing a insert.
- Audi & Volvo head gaskets rarely fail, even on 15 year old autos...they perfected the perfect gasket
- not like the Big3, when cast aluminum started to show up on their motors
(took decades for them, to make designs better / between dis-similar metals & alloys)

Bimetallic (galvanic) corrosion risks from contact with galvanised steel or aluminium

Introduction
Bimetallic corrosion can only occur when two dissimilar metals are in 'electrical' contact and are bridged by an electrically conductive liquid.
The 'cell' produced can result in corrosion to one of the paired metals. This can be an issue when stainless steels are in contact with other metals, depending on the circumstances.

What is needed to set up the corrosion 'cell'?
To set up a galvanic cell between two conducting materials (metals or graphite), the two metals must have differing potentials or be more or less 'noble' than each other.
The more noble metal (cathode) is protected as the less noble metal (anode) sacrificially corrodes.

I was thinking aluminum was softer and wore quicker, hence pistons/cylinder gaps weren't as snug as they were supposed to be, but your explanation sounds much better and more scientific, and like you really know what you are talking about, whereas I make my stuff up on the fly (Which my mom was so good at and sounded so plausible that my family has a disclaimer we all state before we come out with one of our, shall we say, questionable conclusions--"This is a 'motherism'".) Anyway, I'll go with your explanation.

MEL - your right again, but the more you spouted off...your Metallurgical veil of knowledge, left from the Phase Diagram.
- an aluminum fuel intake sits on top of a cast iron block
- due to heat contraction & cooling (turn off car key), the cast aluminum with bad gaskets, is prone to warp // leading to fluid leak, internally &/or externally
- and the coolant (antifreeze) leaks, into the engine with a fuel mixture
- which causes severe overheating and eventual wrecked engine / and bad for the bearings (fuel washes off the internal oil lubricant)
- head gasket failure results, on stationary parts / ...something like that
/ supper time

Weight Differences in Steel and Aluminum
Even with the possibility of corrosion, steel is harder than aluminum. Most spinnable tempers and alloys of aluminum dent, ding or scratch more easily as compared to steel. Steel is strong and less likely to warp, deform or bend under weight, force or heat. Nevertheless the strength of steel’s tradeoff is that steel is much heavier /much denser than aluminum. Steel is typically 2.5 times denser than aluminum.

Crap!

Rain, sleet and snow coming in! Starting tomorrow night!

I blame Canada!

And, Beau?

I'm not bitching.

I am blaming!

3-4 inches predicted after the rain and snow.

Everything melts and then re-freezes here!

City slickers will be A-holes on the highway.

Taking the back roads on Monday!

Hit the grocery store after work. That was a nightmare!

One last stop on the way home from work tomorrow. Stryker food.

Locking myself in tomorrow night and won't venture out until Monday!

Then I will have done all that preparation, and then it won't so be so bad.

That will be okay!

Got my grocery shopping done!

I can hang out at the house and not have to do anything!
