Coffee smells good, but tastes terrible, as far as Iím concerned.

Tea or diet Coke for me, please.

Coffee was an acquired taste for me...started drinking it, in my early 20's.
- started drinking it over lunch, when a coop student was my lunch buddy
- he boarded at a diner/motel and our coffee refills were free...owners treated him like family
- we had 3 cups a day each there, and I didn't feel right...using extra free sugar & creamer
- my work buddy drank his coffee black...so I also switched to black
- that was 35 years ago ... can't stand coffee now, with milk &/or sugar added

I hate regular tea, but enjoyed green tea with my son - when we traveled to Osaka Japan, 15 years ago.
- I call Tetley Tea...a "girly drink"...HeHe

So what does everyone take in their coffee ??
I'll go 1st...keep list updated...
- LARRY = Black (for a real Man...LOL)

If I MUST have coffee at dessert, I have been known to add a scoop of vanilla ice-cream to it.

Otherwise I drink it black--if I have to.

I worked 2nd shift (3-12 PM) in a lab where we matched pints of blood to people who might need it during surgery or who needed it on an emergency basis. Across the hall from us was the blood donation center. They made a pot of coffee during the morning for their donors to have if they wanted.

I would head over there at about 9-10 at night (they were closed for the day, but the coffee was left to simmer.) And simmer was right, the stuff had been sitting there all day, getting stronger and stronger. It certainly helped to keep me up for the rest of the evening. But it was nasty--probably had something to do with increasing my already set in stone dislike for coffee.

OMG! I LOVE coffee!. My father was born and raised in Brazil and I stared drinking coffee as a kid. Fortunately I live in what many consider the coffee capitol of the world. We have more craft and artisan roasters than any other city in the US (Sorry Seattle). Same with beer and craft breweries.

BTW... The Brod: Small world. I volunteered at a blood donation center back in the mid '80s.

Lots of coffee, lots of cookies, lots of juice. It was a scary time. Aids was rampant but little was actually known about HIV. Phlebotomists and nurses started triple gloving. We turned away anyone who admitted to homosexual or promiscuous sexual behavior. Self-admitted drug users were already being turned away due to Hep.

Regular donors were afraid to come in, under the belief that they could be at risk. We were all tested for HIV every few months. They had just approved the first HIV antibody tests and blood banks and blood distribution centers were among the first to provided with testing.

Tough times.

No need to worry. I don’t think anyone other that we contributors would be able to understand (or would want to understand) the intricacies of this thread. And we all already know the strengths and limitations of each other......even if only on a surface level.

Thus the smileys are basically written in code. Like the Navajo code in WWII, which the Japanese could not break (because very few people speak Navajo), this thread would create the same difficulty.

You do seem to be over-represented in the storylines of my post however.......Hmmmmm.....I wonder what THAT means.

Perhaps one of us talks more? Nah......

SP - Why did you & Alan build a fancy Hen House ?
- maybe you should of planted more "chicken trees"...
- more round table family discussions needed...before you try & change nature......next time

27 chicken now / how many did we start with ??
- I can go back & read thru. all the mess, to find out...LOL

We were merely taking inventory.

There were enough feathers left for me to say, "I lost a Barred Rock".

Coyotes were very vocal tonight.

I wanted to free range my chickens, but "Rocky the Rooster" stole some of my girls! There is a fued going on here. He steals them and lures out of the safe zone. And, he thinks he has power trying to flog me.

I think BJ wanted chicken dinner...

I started with 30 very healthy 2-3 day old chicks, back in March.

Today's QUOTEs:

I wish I lived in a world

where mosquitoes would

suck Fat instead of blood.

If you pee on the toilet seat, I will

scrub it with your toothbrush.........Love, Mom

Both of those are pretty good, but it would have to be an awfully big mosquito or a huge flock of them to suck all of my fat out.

And if the peeing kid is anything like mine, it was always like pulling teeth to get them to brush regularly (and the lack of dental hygiene COULD lead to pulling teeth one day)

Only The Most Perceptive Can Solve This Word Riddle
Only The Most Perceptive Can Solve This Word Riddle | David Wolfe TV

What has
4 letters,
sometimes
9 letters,
but never
has 5 letters.

BTW - my wife got it ASAP / but Beau didn't.
I asked her to sit down & figure it out...she had it, before I got off my computer chair...showoff !!
[remember - she was reading grade 4 readers, after 1 month of grade 1]

^^ I won't draw too many conclusions, from this one example though......I never stood a chance.
